I was so hopeless about this game before Season 1, but that whipped 2042 into shape and it looks like Season 2 is going to improve further on it. I hope the new vehicle and the Bolte get moved into their own attack vehicle class though, otherwise they won’t get used at all.

Then the backlash wouldnt have been this bad. We are still lacking a robust movement system like in bfv, destruction and content. BF2042 has less destruction then bad company 1. And 4 times less content then bf3 and 4.

Game still has horrible optimization on a 12900K core i9, 6800 Mhz DDR5 and RTX 3090. Game engine needs work, ground vehicles feel weightless trash with no gravity and slipping all the time, rockets suck for vehicles and dice is out of touch, Take this dislike dice, hope many of you really lose your position for not speaking up against EA.

@@Tewo84 They watered down almost everything. Class system is gone, vehicles are OP even more than bf4 vehicles, maps are bad but most importantly the gameplay feels cheap, especially the kills. You can get so many kills within a very short time that it doesn't feel rewarding, this is due to how you can hold m1 with a rifle and kill someone 400 meters away without needing to tap fire. The gunplay is cheapened to the point it's warzone gunplay now, no need to think how you need to engage far away enemies, you spray at 5 meters and you spray at 500 meters as well. Go and look at bf3/4 flanks, there is just no comparison, you'll get killed at 20 kills at most in older games but here you can just glide to flank the enemies and get 50 kills without them noticing.

I could, like you and others, write it as a "great game" bc time has passed and there have been incremental changes, but that's simply not my experience. If I had never played any of the earlier Battlefield games, I may share the same glee that you may have. After nearly a year of release, there has only been one map update and two additional guns (to date) to the lackluster roster of weapons. Again, since time has passed and there has been "movement", some will call it an awesome experience.

Maybe its just me as ive grown older, but the feelings I would get watching Battlefield 1 or V trailers were just amazing and do not even compare to this one. Its genuinely really disappointing for me.

Yeah I kinda felt dead inside watching this. 😐 I can go back to the BF1 single player trailer and be brought nearly to tears it's that good. I appreciate that the "scale" of what they are showing off is quite different but still... I don't think it's age, just the absolute failure of 2042's launch that's ground down any Battlefield excitement for me, despite some of the changes/additions looking quite promising now. Maybe I'll have to give it another chance but I doubt any of my other gaming mates will especially with Modern Warfare 2 on the horizon...

I think it’s the same for me I’m 23 I was 16 when bf1 came out I was super hyped BF5 released I was hyped when I saw 2042 I was hyped until I played the beta seeing these videos so not hype me at all in fact it doesn’t surprise me and it’s made me more cautious on buying newer games that are unfinished broken and messy when MW2 releases I’m gonna be cautious I still think it’s just me getting older as well and making smarter decisions

I was so hopeless about this game before Season 1, but that whipped 2042 into shape and it looks like Season 2 is going to improve further on it. I hope the new vehicle and the Bolte get moved into their own attack vehicle class though, otherwise they won’t get used at all.

When does the season end I just want to know because this time there's no time on it also when do the season week challenges come out.
Game still has a lot of issues but Season 1 was a great step forward and should've been like that at launch. Looking forward to this season as long as Dice don't pull the plug prematurely.
If the game was like S1 at launch, it wouldn't have nearly as low a player account as it does.
@@BullsMahunny Id say when the game has reached season 3 with most maps updated with cover and specialist/class system reintroduced this game will be what it should have been at release. Then the backlash wouldnt have been this bad. We are still lacking a robust movement system like in bfv, destruction and content. BF2042 has less destruction then bad company 1. And 4 times less content then bf3 and 4.
I'm hoping after the promised 4 Seasons they continue to support the game. If there's 1 thing I hope they learned from BFV and Battlefront 2 it's that when the reception turns around they shouldn't just throw in the towel.
Game still has horrible optimization on a 12900K core i9, 6800 Mhz DDR5 and RTX 3090. Game engine needs work, ground vehicles feel weightless trash with no gravity and slipping all the time, rockets suck for vehicles and dice is out of touch, Take this dislike dice, hope many of you really lose your position for not speaking up against EA.
Plug was pulled at launch. It's a slow drain because it's clogged with peoples hopes and dreams.

It's funny how they're trying to cover the specialists' faces so there won't be that much same looking specialist faces in the game. Even they know that the specialist system fails at the soldier customization and gameplay.

@@Tewo84 They watered down almost everything. Class system is gone, vehicles are OP even more than bf4 vehicles, maps are bad but most importantly the gameplay feels cheap, especially the kills. You can get so many kills within a very short time that it doesn't feel rewarding, this is due to how you can hold m1 with a rifle and kill someone 400 meters away without needing to tap fire. The gunplay is cheapened to the point it's warzone gunplay now, no need to think how you need to engage far away enemies, you spray at 5 meters and you spray at 500 meters as well. Go and look at bf3/4 flanks, there is just no comparison, you'll get killed at 20 kills at most in older games but here you can just glide to flank the enemies and get 50 kills without them noticing.
Despite an obviously underwhelming launch and long periods without any real content, it is good to see this game getting better each season. Still work to do but, it's really good start.
At the end of the day, it could be worse. We could've had nothing or less but for now this is enough to keep it going. Still looking forward to the future of improvements

Let me explain: inside the pass there are many exclusive contents such as weapons, vehicles, operators, etc., if I can't unlock one of these things (due to lack of time), I can buy / unlock them later (even after the pass ) or once the pass time is over it is no longer possible to have those things?
Yes, it has been said that any Specialists, Weapons, Gadgets, or Vehicles will then be unlocked through assignments or something like that.

I could, like you and others, write it as a "great game" bc time has passed and there have been incremental changes, but that's simply not my experience. If I had never played any of the earlier Battlefield games, I may share the same glee that you may have. After nearly a year of release, there has only been one map update and two additional guns (to date) to the lackluster roster of weapons. Again, since time has passed and there has been "movement", some will call it an awesome experience.
If this season turned out to be good, I'm gonna give this game a try.

@@user-ws9wz1vj2b Did people forget that BF V was also a horrible mess? The horrible performance, stuttering and lag spikes. Invincible enemies. Every time they fixed issues with a new patch another set of major bugs hit the game. In terms of having fun, yeah 2042 is way better than BF V in the same time frame as BF V launched.

@@KirklandShunk USMC and Russia faction cosmetics are already in the game. EA just won't unlock them for player use. Load up solo/coop and you'll see they have skins for classes that are faction specific already completed.

I appreciate that the "scale" of what they are showing off is quite different but still... I don't think it's age, just the absolute failure of 2042's launch that's ground down any Battlefield excitement for me, despite some of the changes/additions looking quite promising now. Maybe I'll have to give it another chance but I doubt any of my other gaming mates will especially with Modern Warfare 2 on the horizon...
I think it’s the same for me I’m 23 I was 16 when bf1 came out I was super hyped BF5 released I was hyped when I saw 2042 I was hyped until I played the beta seeing these videos so not hype me at all in fact it doesn’t surprise me and it’s made me more cautious on buying newer games that are unfinished broken and messy when MW2 releases I’m gonna be cautious I still think it’s just me getting older as well and making smarter decisions

One new map and two old maps are being overhauled: Renewal in September and Orbital in October.
