  • Nathan, don't sweat the naysayers. It's obvious you are doing your best with your videos. Many people appreciate them. I noticed that even the 50skid mentions you in a very positive light. Keep up the effort, thanks!

    • I was essentially going to write the same thing you did. I'm glad you did it & sooner because the vids been out a while. It's good to see the gratitude I feel, I know you do & I'm certain many others do too! Nathan is a rare breed! Does his thing, his way. By no means insists anyone else does. He'll also tell you if you go about certain things ANY other way, Your screwed.(or just awaiting the inevitable) I was watching one over the weekend; "Trust me on this guys; I've worked on a lot of these cars and I've seen "this" attempted many ways. I didin't "hear" about someone it happened too, I didin't spend 15 seconds on line, I am telling you "this" from my experience" I can't and won't speak for anyone else; I'm going to listen to not only someone I can relate too + respect, as well as has a s#it ton of experience and will also keep it bs free in the rare event it's something he's not well versed or experienced in! I seldom see any one person big enough, yet always humble, to keep it 100 from the beginning to current day! I'm not a fan of chameleons. I would immensely prefer for what I see from the person to be what I get. While I can't say with absolute certainty as I haven't met him, I'm damn near positive this man doesen't change because a camera is recording! I've lost count of people I've unsubscribed to that started as Snap On got some subscribers & turned into Fisher Price. I can't afford Snap On & provided Sears stays in buisines (????. Idk?) Craftsman has a lifetime warranty on all hand tools & probably costs a 3rd. If that, of S.O. I don't have money to burn & Ive worked hard for what little I have. If God forbid I was injured tomm. The bank isin't showing up with a tow truck. I don't have to panic wondering how long my loan payments covered while I'm out of work. Having someone very much like minded & extremely well versed + hands on when it comes to older BMW's! No b.s. It's simple; I wouldn't be able to own one & if I did, it would be a non stop crap shoot plus I probably would have destroyed it, unintentionally, by now! This channel is in a league of it's own along with Nathan & is not only a boost to the diy car crowd, It adds another wing to the Bmw owner's category. The type of people I WANT to talk to & meet at car shows, cars & coffee, etc. Not martini drinking "Muffy & Buffy types" who should have just bought a Saab off the ripp! Ty Nathan & ty to everyone else who supports this channel & NOT B.S.! RESPECT to the person who first made this comment especially!

  • It seems like the trolls are hurting your feelings and that sucks. Forget them! Your vids give us insight into our cars and clear instruction on how to make repairs. The internet is better because of folks like you... A well maintained e46 is a blast to drive and worth the trouble... Some folks would rather ride a car than drive a car. Some folks think cars are for transportation...They are missing the point and living sad, angst filled lives. Lots of us appreciate your efforts. Thank you!

  • On the way to work this morning and my 328 started blowing smoke like when a turbo goes on a car and it shook me up! Oil went to minimum on the stick and the hose that goes to the cam cover was blocked with yellow gunk! Phoned up bmw for one of these valves and all hoses for the job, cam cover gasket(cos thats leaking) and a split intake trunking pipe came to £225 (trade) !!! Looks like im gonna be skint for the rest of the month!

  • Nice video, i have a m52b28 single vanos, i did a leak test on the intake with a smoke machine, and i notice 2 things, with the throttle body fully close there is a little leak in there, is that normal? Also, i saw that the ccv is getting air through the intake to the crank case(didnt see any smoke, but as the smoke machine build pressure i heard air comming through the oil cap), is that normal? Or so i have a problem in the ccv?

  • Curious question, I had this problem for lean codes for both banks, I replaced the whole CCV system very carefully, took the air intake out and everything because I done this 3 times and still had codes, at the same time the abs module took a shit, and when I replaced that (clear the codes and same codes came up) I drove the car for a while and the codes went away and it’s been 4 days with 60 miles added and still no codes, could it been from the module?

  • Thanks for ur video... so I av a bmw 3 series 328i 2009 model with a problem since 2015 no one can fix it... Not even Bmw of west Houston. It drives perfect for 10minutes then after 10minutes it shakes at the dashboard through to the car on acceleration. But if I floor the gas or ease the gas it drives fine. Other than that it got no issues since 2015. What I av changed: Guibo Front wheel hub Cam shaft MAF sensor Engine mount All four tyres Shock n struts from n back O2 sensors Gear oil But still is hesitates on acceleration the same way since 2015. What do u think the problem is?

  • So youre telling me a new one can fail too? I just did this in my E36 M52 328is. Surging idle fixed. I made a video on it. Need to replace valve cover gasket and some vanos seals cause oil leaking there badly.

    @AutOdometer@AutOdometer7 жыл бұрын
  • My failure was a little different. maybe it was because I didn't drive the car all that much, even let it sit for 6 month stretches, but the drain to the dipstick got clogged so the oil had no where to go and got sucked back into the intake. CEL, rough idle, lots of smoke. My CCV was the older style (9/96).

  • Nathan, please help, I got a BMW 520i 2002 with M54 Engine. I've got the engine with a massive leak in the valve cover and I changed the gasket there, later I got a leak under the car and I changed the oil filter housing gasket, and still have a problem with the oil, I changed the main rear engine seal, also the oil pan gasket and oil dipstick seal. the car is still consuming oil and I got sick of it I don't know what to do. the only thing that I did not change is the CCV system, I am afraid if I change it nothing will happen, besides, no blue or black smoke the car is OK, but it consumes oil so I end up with a 3 litres of oil after a 1000k or a 1500k high way run, so please help me I do not know what to do and I live in Libya

  • Nathan, Thanks for all the good work. I have a 97 528I which loses coolant. I can't for the life of me figure out where it is going. I've replaces the water pump, thermostat, expansion tank but still loosing coolant. It is not a blown gasket according the my mechanic. I also have noticed that if I let the engine cool and take the cap off to relieve pressure, I don't lose as much coolant. Any ideas would be appreciated.
