    • Repetition is the essential comedic device and is often used in combination with other devices to reinforce them. The "callback" in comedy writing-in which a statement or theme is recalled as the punchline or close of a scene-is a classic example of the tension and release that are possible using repetition. It is also the basis for "Englishman, Irishman, and Scotsman" jokes, where repetition is used to set up a modus operandi and build tension before the Irishman (usually assumed to be the stupid one) provides the resolving juxtaposition.

    • Dry Bar Comedy is certainly for you. I know I could use some clean comedy on another amateur comedy channel. Not everyone can truly enjoy great comedy without profanity, because human nature tells us to believe that if you use it in that kind of comedy...it had to be better that way. It doesn't. It just have to be. *good* , decent, and better than average. Medicore. Ordinary. Plain. Dull. Sometimes even boring while being those things. This comedian already knows how to get fired as quickly as possible. Driving a UPS truck, which is according to him, technically a beer truck. Now why do you think that is?

  • Aww, I want more! And btw, those kinds of fussy wives actually care and love their husbands more than the aloof types like me, LoL. The comedians with such wives usually have a longtime marriage, because funny and fussy work well together, like my parents. 😅 They fight all the time, but can't live without each other for too long. When my father died last year, my mother cried every night for months, missing her awkward yet funny cool man that stood beside her for 42 years.

    • I only go to the doctor's with my husband cause we stop by friendly's ice cream after his appointments. Funniest time was this one time husband and I went to a walk in VA clinic where, unlike his regular one you can be seen without a prior appointment. As we got there I mentioned something along the lines of, "that's a cute little building", and then after parking the car we tried figuring out which entrance to go and how to go to the correct area. Then I began daydreaming, picturing Murdoch from the A-team trying to escape this particular clinic with the help of Face. Meanwhile my husband found a nice security guard and asked him how to get to ,,,, area. Guard told us that said place was on the 11th floor past the pool and I believe he mentioned a McDonald's restaurant. I stopped paying attention to what he was talking to husband cause now my mission is to find the elevator. well, we made a left turn, went down the hallway and he said, "we're here". I'm thinking, "what you mean we're here, I haven't taken the elevator yet, let alone walk past this pool you mentioned". then I remembered one small detail. the building we were in had about 3 floors or so. so yeah, both him and my husband got a good laugh when I did end up saying I was looking for the elevator lol
