About The Daily Show:
Trevor Noah and The Daily Show correspondents tackle the biggest stories in news, politics and pop culture.
The Daily Show with Trevor Noah airs weeknights at 11/10c on Comedy Central.
Trevor covers so much. You get your news combined with humor combined with little history lessons. Trevor is News, Comedy, public information and education all wrapped up in one show. Keep it Going Trevor!!!
TOTALLY AGREE with the style Comedy Central present current events.
@1 2 when a racist tries to make someone else seem racist but uses racist rhetoric to try and make their point. A+
Could not agree more! With you John Dozier.
Delusional, you are.
a trick : you can watch movies on KaldroStream. Been using them for watching loads of movies these days.
I personally love this show even more now that there is no audience.
Yeah I actually agree. Can just take in the info and humor without having to wait for reactions.
Same. The old method seems so outdated like laugh tracks on sitcoms
All of my family says that too. They say it feels more personal and brings out Trevor's personality more. Like he really needs it. Also needless to say I'm pretty much the only guy in my family.

Me as a German who has learned about his country’s history in elementary school till college, think from what I see happening in America that only a few people in America really know there country’s history.
you’re right.
Most Americans know how horrible colonialism was. They just find it beneficial to pretend they don't. Why do you think they are so violently against the subject being taught in school? They know these truths can be used to challenge their authority.
Seems here in the US only know/experience/learn from what they WANT to. Seems like US “freedom” also includes the freedom to be willfully ignorant.
I agree, thanks for sharing that.
Yo, but your English class is lacking ^^
Trevor cracks me up every time he does a Mitch McConnell impersonation 😆😆😂😂

Honest learned more from this show about American history and democracy than anything in high school
My main problem with targeted ads aside from the creep factor is that I seem to get tons of ads for things that I've already purchased and don't need more of.
My main problem with disabling targeted ads is Google constantly flooding me with extreme garbage like investment scams, possibly to discourage turning off targeting.
Tell me about it. I bought an urn for my mother last month. Take a guess at what kind of ads I'm seeing.
K. Kelly like a cremation urn (if so, sorry for your loss and that must feel really insensitive advertising-target-wise) or like a garden urn?
Thanks for supporting and announcing it's mental health month. We need to stop stigmatizeing mental health issues and encourage people to get help. :)
Thank you! I will add that as important as it is that we destigmatize mental health issues, we really need to provide access to mental health care as well.
@@lindsayeller8649 agreed. It’s sad how universal healthcare is radical in this country when other developed nations are doing it well.

stigmatizing mental illness will never end. My own wife not only ridiculed me for claiming the right to have a say in the choice of medication and the therapy, but she targeted me, apparently conforming to psychopathy to destroy my reputation, gaslight me, and con me out of almost all my wealth. Oh, right. I shouldn't stigmatise her psychopathy. Just forgive her and continue to let her treat me like a toilet scrubber?
@@lindsayeller8649 at the Illinois state-run Elgin Mental Health Center, the employees are targeted for choosing mental health therapy. Administrators, associates, and assistants such as AFSCME LOCAL 26 VP Diana Quesada, have reportedly tossed employees under the bus, even gas-lighted them, for alleged mental health issues.
My friend was in the er for depression and Facebook showed him an ad WHILE HE WAS THERE for depression research. Something needs to change.
Talking to my sister about her baby and being a woman, I will never be okay with that leading to sudden floods of ads about pregnancy tests. The problem is the tracking isn't always reasonable. Sometimes it's beyond invasive.

Speaking of mental health month... I used to teach a few different Psychology courses at Texas A&M and I got in trouble from my department head one time because during suicide awareness month/week (can't remember which one it was) and on world suicide prevention day I told my students that I struggled with depression in grad school but sought help for it and that there was nothing wrong with talking to someone or asking for help.

Yes! I’m 45, we were taught so little in school. First half of the semester was the dawn of civilization to the colonialism. Then it was the revolutionary war to WWII. We had maybe 1 day on Dr. Martin Luther King Jr & Rosa Parks. It was pitiful & yet another injustice in not giving a voice to the oppressed. I studied history in college. American History 101 was colonialism to industrial revolution. One semester for hundreds of years of history. Then History 102 was WWII to current. It feels like it was designed to skim over ‘uncomfortable truths’ & to jam so much content in such a short period that you get no depth on anything. You just memorize dates & names for the tests & don’t retain any of it. I’ve learned over the past years that it’s our job to educate ourselves on history, race, systemic racism & inherent privilege. I was pulled over by a cop but I never feared for my life during the stop. I grew up poor, survived 25yrs of violent abuse & have had chronic health issues that have prevented me from doing many things. But if I were black or brown these same issues would have been much, much worse & my options to escape, survive & receive medical help would have been much further from my grasp. We need to completely change our educational system along with the many institutions that do not work as they should. Until then, its our responsibility to learn about our country’s history & how it has effected minorities to this day. Hope you have a great weekend.
You seriously created a KZhead account of a white woman name to write this..? Weak

That is so true. How sad it is that we have to rely on comedians to educate us on, current events and history because "those in power" decided they don't want the truth taught in schools.
@@yolandadenny8692 you should probably look elsewhere. There are some really great books out there. Among a wealth of knowledge on the internet. While the comedians do a great job, Trevor is especially enjoyable, you are missing a lot getting educated here. It's very worrisome that people would look to this or any one source for information. Holy sh*t. I didn’t realize how fortunate I was to have the history curriculum that was taught in California, although I’m sure it could have been better. Never thought about how it wouldn’t be consistent from state to state.
For real. I learned the "war between the states," i.e. the pro-South, version of US history, and I live in a Northern state. I had a lot to unlearn.
If I hadn't served in the military back in the 70's I would be in denial now like most in rural eastern Kansas are today. Many here are controlled by conservative media and false patriotism being used to manipulate them against people portrayed as rioters when most are simply risking their lives to protest how they are treated. And if you try to talk about these important things you'll get just a couple reactions: rage and the quoting of talking points they've learned watching conservative media. They want to believe they aren't racist but they want other races to stay away and not disrupt their lives or question what they believe.
“Party people in the house, ‘say Mehh’”
I remember in HS my history teacher (best teacher in the world) wasn't allowed to say the civil war was about slavery
"the same" for me and the kids in my school! In, 1982 My Freshman year of High School, the district of Denver Public Schools took out African American Studies! Not, until I went college did I learn more about HISTORY OF America!!!
My college professor was threatened when he started teaching us Hispanic History that changed laws in our state. A mostly Hispanic college was not allowed to learn our own history what changes were made in our hometown for our betterment.
Same. Not only was my social studies book 20yrs old, it didn’t even have a chapter on the Civil War. It had 2 paragraphs that said it wasn’t fought over slavery but Eli Whitney’s cotton gin. A whole war over the cotton gin. The End!
His tone reminds me of Jim Gaffigan. "2$! I'll keep it to myself..." 😂
In case you don’t know, the ends of the photo over-enlarge because of an extreme wide angle lens which was the only way to get the picture with all four people in it because the photographer couldn’t step back far enough to do otherwise. Apparently, the decision to publish was made because the subject matter outweighed the freakishness.
Very informative ! Thank you
The photographer should’ve had them push their chairs together, that would’ve solved the problem. Thanks for the information though.

I was fortunate to have my mother critique my school histories -- "That's not how I learned about it in school in Canada!!" She was irritated about how much Canadians had to know about the USA, in contrast to how little the USA knew about Canada's past!!
It's bc the US is completely self centered. It's been quite awhile since I've been in school, I don't even remember exactly what was taught in history, was never really interested at the time. As an adult I'm constantly thirsty, wanting to learn, and most everything I'm educated on has been self taught. This helps explain the total lack of knowledge certain people seem to have about anything going on outside the country. I come across so many adults that have no idea, and I can't understand, w the access to knowledge and information we now have, why people would not choose to educate themselves..maybe it just doesn't even occur to them.
I am so lucky to have had a history of the 60's course where the teacher talked about systemic racism. I learned more from that one class than all the history courses I have had in my entire life; and I got a minor in History because I am a teacher.
Meanwhile my gov teacher taught us that reverse racism and sexism were a real and relevant problem 😬🙄🙄

Actually ads have always been targeted: Soap operas are so-called because they were dramas watched during the day by housewives who buy cleaning products. Sat morning cartoons came with ads for toys. Sports with beer ads. Ads were always targeted to audiences
Yes but who actually clicks those targeted ads? I also don't get the point. The other day, my sister told me about this specific bra company called Pepper. After going on their website, I got nonstop ads on KZhead for bras, including for Pepper. I already went to your website and looked at your products, I already know you exist, I dont need endless ads for something I already looked into myself. Even worse, everyone in your household also gets the same ads for some reason. I'm staying at my Mom's because I recently became a widow. A few weeks ago, my mom was researching exercise hula hoops. I'm getting constant ads for it. My brother searched for Japanese candy on his computer, my sister keeps getting ads for Japanese candy on her phone 🤦

My teenage daughter and I recently moved from Southern California to ARkansas. She regularly tells me the difference in what she is being taught in high school. There is a glazing over of American history here in the south, I would go as far as to say that some teachers teach from a viewpoint of confederate sympathizers. I am so glad that my daughter is aware of this enough to point it out. I engage her at home about unbiased history.
I keep getting ads for pillow cubes, but I’m pretty sure I never wrote anything anywhere or looked up anything before about having trouble sleeping. And I’m not opted out. This tells me...

add a feature where you can specify exactly what kind of companies you're ok with having your info "companies within 5miles" "only small businesses" "only eco friendly" etc etc. this makes it even MORE valuable to FB, and work better for us. and then make them ask/beg for our data, like it's worth something, and not just given/stolen for free for decades.

If I'm not mistaken companies don't have honor the "opt out" selection. There is a list of companies that voluntarily abide by it. Others can choose to ignore it. Also It's funny it's always concern for "small business owners" whenever there is a change proposed that will hurt big businesses even more. Like minimum wage. Suddenly small businesses are held up as the reason to keep things as they are.
I hate targeted ads. Sometimes you just Google a 2003 Sebring for the fun of it. Now I get to watch Chrysler jeep Dodge dealership commercials on KZhead for 7 days
I remember every history class I've ever had and I remember never learning about slavery or the 300 years plus of oppression They just go straight to the founding fathers and the pilgrim and then they go straight into wars after that

@@shaec3405 Exactly they jump straight to how it ended but they don't want to talk about the 300 years of it
Nevermind that there have been ppl living in the Americas for thousands of years before that... Do American schools teach about Native American history? I live in Germany and I remember learning about the migration over the Bering Strait to the massacres and treaties being violated by the government and reservations in elementary school.
Living in Denmark, I remember elementary school textbooks explaining the economics of the triangle trade England to Africa to Caribbean to England with different profitable goods on each leg of the journey, including slaves. Only decades later did I find out the schoolbook's horror picture of how slaves were packed into ships was actually from a local shipowning company and that my country profitted hugely from this activity.
In my history class we learned about a lot of that actually, we learned about how the Natives were also enslaved for a long time, how slavery took a part in the first few hundred years, and all that kinda stuff. I do know that most classes don't do that though, as this year is the only year I've learned about it.
Those who do not know HISTORY are doomed to repeat it... YES OUR KIDS NEED TO KNOW OUR REAL HISTORY... So It can Finally be Our PAST.
I think the regressive Republicans don't want anything to change so let's not open the Pandora's box that is true/real history, let's keep moving along with our twisted version of reality that keeps us supreme. Sick.

I am very fortunate. I grew up in Washington DC where most public schools are filled with black educators so a lot of my teachers really put in the work to teach us about slavery and racism from as early as 4th grade. If it wasn't for them, I would not be as well aware and informed today. I am happy to have had that environment to really learn and understand Black American History.

The statement made in this video about history is so true. As an Irish person, our very history and relationship with the British is taught very differently in history lessons in school. The kids in the UK are not taught about all the horrible things the British done to the Irish during the "Plantations" and the aftermath of such, i.e the "Famine". Caused by the potatoes plague the native people of Ireland were left with no food, but all the time food was being exported from Ireland by the wealthy British planted land owners. All this time the natives are starving to death, but can't have any of the food produced in their country. It verges on genocide.
