  • Hesi push to cross with another hesi and one bounce to the rim from a 7"4 player - this kid is from another planet. He got away with it, Capella didnt even bother with the first slide, but I think hes a bit gumpy on the dribble pen. Freeze the video between 3:12 and 3:13 and you can see he swings his right arm leaving the ball wide open instead of locking up the d's arm to protect the ball and create space. He does the same thing at 3:36. It would be interesting to see if he would pickup the ball if someone slid into that space underneath him.

  • What makes this impressive is that Pop said they are still not coaching Wemby (except basics) too much and just observing where he excels and where he needs improvement. The Spurs know they are not winning anything in the stacked West so they are angling for another high draft pick while developing Sochan and Wemby. Both are just 20 & 19. The future is bright for that team although few sees that yet.

Remember he just signed a 5 year deal. This game has shown what the Spurs think Sochan could develop into. Victor ain't winning a chip without a viable 2nd star and the Spurs are trying to develop one in Sochan.

  • 2:42: If you watch it slowed down even more, you see three things: 1. Wemby realized what was coming before it happened. He didn't know from the beginning, but you can see the moment where he slightly turns his head to the right. There he knew. 2. The following stands out most for me: in this moment, after realizing what was about to come, he had the patience to hesitate one moment to bait Young into thinking the pass is free. Realizing the play, and then being aware that immediately blocking the pass lane would most likely not lead to the steal he desires, shows his extremely fast decision making on defense, and his basketball IQ. 3. Even if Young would have realized that Wemby knew, he still must have thought the lob pass is easily possible. The way Wembanyama rises up there with his octopus arm stretched out is a sight. I have never seen anything like this in Basketball. Any opposing player will have to think twice when Wemby is anywhere closer than 12 feet to the ball on defense. That will have an impact which can't be valued high enough, it will change a whole teams decisions, and setplays. You just can't run certain plays when he's anywhere near the Ball.

    • Yeah, it's tough watching the Spurs struggle right now. Wemby's scoring is still impressive, though.

    • It's wild how the game has evolved, right? I miss the old school style of play too, where fundamentals like traveling and double dribble were strictly enforced.

  • Nah bro said unacceptable 38% for 7'4ft giant in his first year in the league. Invalid ahh dramabait analysis. Got me though this one goes out the algorythm.

    • I hear you, man. It's frustrating when people throw around percentages without really understanding the game or the player. This analysis seems way off base. It's essential to consider the player's overall impact on the team and how they contribute beyond just stats.

  • Average true shooting of 51% ... League average is 54%.42% on floaters... 44% at the rim. Trae is so inefficient. Is he a all star only cause he's short?

    @jaychen8809@jaychen88095 ай бұрын
    • It's true that Trae Young's shooting percentages may not be at the league average, and his true shooting percentage of 51% falls below that mark. However, there are several factors to consider when evaluating a player's performance. Trae Young is known for his exceptional ball-handling, playmaking, and scoring ability. His impact on the court goes beyond traditional shooting percentages.
