Hesi push to cross with another hesi and one bounce to the rim from a 7"4 player - this kid is from another planet. He got away with it, Capella didnt even bother with the first slide, but I think hes a bit gumpy on the dribble pen. Freeze the video between 3:12 and 3:13 and you can see he swings his right arm leaving the ball wide open instead of locking up the d's arm to protect the ball and create space. He does the same thing at 3:36. It would be interesting to see if he would pickup the ball if someone slid into that space underneath him.

What makes this impressive is that Pop said they are still not coaching Wemby (except basics) too much and just observing where he excels and where he needs improvement. The Spurs know they are not winning anything in the stacked West so they are angling for another high draft pick while developing Sochan and Wemby. Both are just 20 & 19. Sochan at 20 is being groomed to play point forward hence the insistence for him to play point guard for now. Popovich is playing the long game, sacrificing winning for development. Remember he just signed a 5 year deal. This game has shown what the Spurs think Sochan could develop into. Victor ain't winning a chip without a viable 2nd star and the Spurs are trying to develop one in Sochan.

2:42: If you watch it slowed down even more, you see three things: 1. Wemby realized what was coming before it happened. He didn't know from the beginning, but you can see the moment where he slightly turns his head to the right. There he knew. 2. The following stands out most for me: in this moment, after realizing what was about to come, he had the patience to hesitate one moment to bait Young into thinking the pass is free. Realizing the play, and then being aware that immediately blocking the pass lane would most likely not lead to the steal he desires, shows his extremely fast decision making on defense, and his basketball IQ. 3. Even if Young would have realized that Wemby knew, he still must have thought the lob pass is easily possible. The way Wembanyama rises up there with his octopus arm stretched out is a sight. I have never seen anything like this in Basketball. Any opposing player will have to think twice when Wemby is anywhere closer than 12 feet to the ball on defense. That will have an impact which can't be valued high enough, it will change a whole teams decisions, and setplays. You just can't run certain plays when he's anywhere near the Ball.

It's true that Trae Young's shooting percentages may not be at the league average, and his true shooting percentage of 51% falls below that mark. I had next to no knowledge of basket ball rules prior to Wemby being drafted. Watching your videos I feel like I understand every intricacy of the game. They're a fantastic watch every time.
Your message made my day! 🐐 It's awesome to hear that you're planning to stay "goated" in any case, especially with a last name that literally means "goat" in Frenc, how cool is that!
once again the boy never disappoints 🤲🏾
🐐
I feel like Trae Young isn't talked about enough. 45 points with 14 assists? He's not even playing 2k he's hacking
All the sliders maxed out
Overrated
@@bryanbill3692 🤣🤣🤣
I don’t know what it is, your cadence, the way you break down the game, the soundtrack behind it this channel is straight up my favorite hoops channel, stay Goated❤️
Means a lot, man. Thank you so much!
I was at this game with my brother. Our first spurs game together in 20 years go spurs go
Hope you enjoyed your experience with your brother, Jacob. :)
Another great video, thought the spurs would get out of the slump but trea was playing some beautiful basketball
Glad you enjoyed it.
This is the beginning of something really special…Blessed to witness this firsthand! Wemby just different frfr 😡
Here’s hoping. The kid is amazing!
keep growing your account dude your hard work will be awarded accordingly soon. I love the hustle and grind.
I appreciate it! Will do!
I would love to see Wemby with an actual PG. Sochan is a great hustle player, but he is not a point guard. Not yet at least.
I raczej nie będzie
Having a true point guard like Wemby would definitely bring a different dynamic to the team. Sochan's hustle is undeniable, and he's been putting in the work.
I'm fairly new basketball enthusiast and these slow motion videos help me understand the game.
Happy to help you. Thanks for watching.
Excellent analysis. Would love to him utilize that off-arm a bit more!
My bud, I gottaa say I love the way you do your intros, "The first time Victor Wembanyama faced ______________" always gets me ready for what's coming
Glad you liked it. More to come. Thank you! 🤝
Big heart bigger buckets I love that TY is balling out against wemby
Big heart, bigger buckets indeed! TY is showing out against Wemby, and it's a joy to watch.
The future is bright for that team although few sees that yet.
That's a fascinating strategy by Pop and the Spurs!
Yet this season was supposedly about winning?
crazy breakdowns
Lol. Thanks.
Nicely done analysis!
Thanks!
keep active with content dude ur gunna have a breakthru soon. Ur ball iq , narrating and editing pairs so well together
I appreciate that! Thanks for always watching.
Too much statistics clouds game contributions.
At his size probably the smallest guard in the league shooting over wemby and hitting the shot is absolutely insane. Also he’s definitely not 6’1, he’s more around 5’11 & 6 foot in shoes.
non he's 6'1 and a half as you might see in a video on youtube if you search trae young height
@@yann1878 even though he’s listed as 6’1 a typical basketball shoe adds 1-2 to your height. NBA players get there height measured with shoes on hence why I stated in “shoes” , making him an actual height of between 5’11 & 6’0 as I stated…….try again.
It's incredible how he manages to pull off those plays.
Trae made some great decisions and plays during this game. If these two were on the same team that would be fun. Just hypothetical.
Absolutely! Trae's decisions and plays were impressive in the game. Imagining both Trae and the other player on the same team is intriguing.
I love the proverb stay Goated ❤😮😊
Everyday my brother! Stay GOATed 🐐
Great video bud. 👍
Thanks bud!
that charge alone taken by trae is enough to decide game mvp
It's moments like these that make a strong case for him as the game MVP.
Trae doesn't play defense. Practically never.
Jeremy and victor looking better every game. Wish they would do more pick and rolls.
Agree.
0:22 biggest travel ever
Take it up with the officials 🤷♂️
That's NBA, baby. But yes: we learned the same basket-ball rules.
2 steps without dribbling.
Trae playing defence is one of those magic situations where suddenly the team looks different, like luka being in shape all year. or luka playing defence. or luka not complaining to the refs for so long he doesnt make it back to his spot.
Absolutely! Trae's defensive prowess really brings a transformative energy to the team. It's like when Luka is in peak shape all year long or when he's not only an offensive powerhouse but also actively contributing on the defensive end.
Great video bro , Wemby-Trae clashes gonna be an epic every time. That being said, please don't use the "stay goated" outro again
Lol thanks! The outro isn’t going anywhere. Stay GOATed! -GOAT.
Trey Young is highly underrated
Only because he was supposed to be Luka Doncic
Thanks for your thoughts.
@@stokedradar Luka is slightly overrated. Kyrie is clearly the best player on that team yet Luka fans are always gassing him up. Luka nut-riders are the WORST lol they are as toxic as LeBron fanboys with their "LUKA CARRIES! and LUKA NEEDS HELP" nonsense. Luka nut-riders (not Mavs fans) dissed Brunson when he got traded yet all we heard was how "mid" Brunson was. Then when Brunson balled out in NY, all i heard was, LUKA NEEDS HELP! SHOULDNT HAVE TRADED THE ONLY OTHER SCORER!" Luka stans are the absolute worst
Overrated player, overrated comment.
@@jdrmanmusiqking Kyrie is a generational talent, Same as Luka. The Mavericks have 2 talented players. But my comments was inferring that Atlanta should have had Luka Doncic if not for the trade. And in doing so Luka is better than Trae Young which is why is he is underrated (I dont think he is underrated he is good) has nothing to do with how good Kyrie is. But no one is as toxic as a Lebron Fan. The delusion to think he is better than MJ is beyond belief. However he is number 2.
great content i find myself coming back to your channel a lot. just subscribed, thank you
Welcome aboard! Thank you so much! ❤️
Wemby needs someone like Trae, and we will have the next dynasty a few years later
Absolutely, I couldn't agree more!
That video title is wild 😂
Lol.
please make an analysis for GOAT passers ( facundo, jason kidd, stockton etc)
I'll see.
@@GOATiology 🤝🏾
Trae should be thinking about teaming up with Wemby in the future. Wembys incredible defense would mask Trae's flaws and Wemby's ability would give Trae nothing to do but dish out lobs.
I can see how Trae and Wemby could make a formidable team. Wemby's defensive skills complement Trae's style, and Trae's playmaking could shine even more with Wemby's abilities on the court.
they would be a deadly duo
That would be OP 😳
Victor Wembanyama A.K.A. Tony Duncan 😊 GSG
Whoa. 🫣
He reaches to the heavens to intercept the pass
Lmao.
You could use OSCAR WORTHY for Wembys next matchup because you already know it’ll be heat🔥
I’ll see, thanks for watching!
Wembanyama is like an Avatar playing in the NBA.
Lol. Thanks for watching.
Joining the Zion xlub
Trae's first move was a travel.
Thanks for the info, Joseph.
That’s not a rondo move. That is an Avery Johnson move!
Hmm. 👀
Tre was traveling all the time
Tre Young will be Lengendary
Offensively he is a revelation. Defensively he bleeds so many points for the Hawks
Trae Young one of the best 🏀🌹🌟
Thanks for sharing your thoughts!
Looking forward to seeing Sochan's growth and how this strategic move pays off in the seasons to come. Popovich's approach is indeed playing the long game, and it'll be interesting to witness the fruits of this development oriented strategy.
3:10 is this not a travel?
Wow. I hear you, thanks for your thoughts man. 🤝
Within the first 30 seconds of this Trae clip… the dude traveled no lie 2 times. How can you break this down with such egregious violations. How do the refs miss this
Take it up with the officials 🤷♂️
_"How do the refs miss this"_ Isn't it what's called NBA?
The ref was right there....
Currently legal in this NBA.
The point is… this was called “ treys basketball wizardary in this game started however on the offense end”…. The author is breaking down his blatant traveling like it’s a skill. This wasn’t “ wizardry” it was a damn walk from the earth to the moon . This should have been omitted because it’s just so so so hard to watch in slow motion.
The amount of uncalled traveling in this video was disgusting
Please list all of them for us 🙏
Wembanyama aka The Human Slowmo
Lol.
They should be teammates
Hmm. 🤔
0:22 that’s a travel in FIBA rules😂
Thanks for the info.
What I'm saying is: imagine coming from the Euroleague to the NBA and getting a step more and a lot of space more on the court. That's heaven.
trae nasty
Can we start a conversation of how he win dpoy he's kinda leading the league in blocks rn which is crazy cuz the team is toilet juice 😂
It's like he's a one-man defensive powerhouse in a sea of challenges.
People acting like 38 percent from 3 is bad is hilarious. Just add 2% and all of a sudden they are god. lmao
It's crazy how a small percentage point can completely change people's perspectives.
Kobe IS The Goat
Thanks for your thoughts.
@3:10 travel
Seeing Trae push off and jump into defenders is so damn annoying man.
I totally get what you mean.
stay GOATed
🐐🐐🐐
THIS IS SOME KUROKO NO BASKET SHIT
Whoa, this is some Kuroko no Basket level excitement!
and Tyrese Haliburton is THE best passer in the NBA... LETS GO PACERS
Hmm?
three steps before dribbling isn't traveling in the nba - just fyi 0:23
Thanks for the info.
Trae ain’t no 6’1”
6’1”” is where the NBA measures him at. But what do they know… your assessment is probably more accurate 😂
@@GOATiology the NBA is off all the time, but I was joking here. Great content
*But, his foot was moving.*
Yeah.
The Spurs' losing streak is making Wemby's 20(ish) ppg look a lot less impressive
Yeah, it's tough watching the Spurs struggle right now. Wemby's scoring is still impressive, though.
Not a charge! Dom never played defense
oh come on... @2:17 traveling all over the place... these youngsters have never even heard of traveling, carrying, double-dribble... it's just epidemic... stepping and jumping and hopping all over the place...
It's wild how the game has evolved, right? I miss the old school style of play too, where fundamentals like traveling and double dribble were strictly enforced.
Nah bro said unacceptable 38% for 7'4ft giant in his first year in the league. Invalid ahh dramabait analysis. Got me though this one goes out the algorythm.
I hear you, man. It's frustrating when people throw around percentages without really understanding the game or the player. This analysis seems way off base. It's essential to consider the player's overall impact on the team and how they contribute beyond just stats.
Average true shooting of 51% ... League average is 54%.42% on floaters... 44% at the rim. Trae is so inefficient. Is he a all star only cause he's short?
It's true that Trae Young's shooting percentages may not be at the league average, and his true shooting percentage of 51% falls below that mark. However, there are several factors to consider when evaluating a player's performance. Trae Young is known for his exceptional ball-handling, playmaking, and scoring ability. His impact on the court goes beyond traditional shooting percentages.
Would love to see this level of quality for literally ANY OTHER high quality matchup that doesn't involve Wemby
Slowly my brother! I’m expanding the coverage and analysis.
Thats a defensive flop from tray
Yeah, thanks for watching.
Sochan will be better than wemby.
Thanks for sharing your thoughts.
@GOATiology Ik it sounds a little crazy but sochan is having flashes of greatness
dude can’t pronounce anyone’s name right.
Lol.
too much focusing with wemby and now they are 3W-16L
Lol. Thanks for watching.
Tired of hearing about Wemby till he starts making a difference. They have like 3 wins.
He will do more in the future.
"Trey Young Schools Victor Wembanyama". Fixed the title for you.
Lol.
Am i the only one that see's wemby taking 3 steps here? 3:06
