    • he mentioned that it was his ireland performances against Portugal and Holland. its the question I've always wanted to ask him - what did he think was his best Irish performance. its hard to describe just how much he carried his team against portugal at home. People always go on about Holland at home and juve in 99, but at least his team helped somewhat in those games. against portugal he was everywhere, always an option for a pass, having a pop and breaking from midfield, always chasing attackers, appearing from nowhere to clear the lines, and even scored a classic Keane goal. he carried his team that day, a performance that actually deserved all those superlatives they use too often. mesmerising performance.

He continued still to get Utd to the final. Typical of a what a great captain would do. 👍

  • Roy is a legend. Always honest, with both positives and negatives. Straight to the point, no sugar coating. His honesty has cost him in the game, both as a player and manager, yet he hasn't changed. He is the perfect "To thine own self be true.".
