Never gets old. I'm not a biker - dated a few, but this is one of my all time main life songs. So many different memories attached to it like coming of age and one of my first teen crushes while this song played in the background. Turns out he wound up being an avid biker when he got older and owned a biker clothing and stuff store. Rode for charities. He's passed now - over 20 yrs. Peace, Larry.

My dad was an accountant, but he loved this kind of music (much to some people’s surprise). When my sister and I were young, he would take us for drives in his 20 year old Porsche 911, with this song playing at the maximum volume. Such great memories. He unexpectedly passed away on June 3rd, 2022 at age 57. We requested this song to be played at his funeral, but my family forgot we requested it! So when it started playing, everyone instantly burst out into happy laughs and smiles from memories of a bygone era. RIP Dad.

Song reminds me of the best trip of my life, on a ‘89 Honda Goldwing 1500. The ladies I worked with scoffed at the idea of me doing “it” Haha. Rode from Portland, Oregon 🇺🇸 to south central USA. Went along the whole Beartooth Highway between NE Entrance of Yellowstone Nat’l Park all the way to Red Lodge, Montana. Elevations of 11,000’ & mountain tops in every direction “Big Sky’s” all around. Caught hail at the summit in July above tree line, slick hair pin turns all the way back down. Thank you Steppenwolf, for this groovy tune and my chance to “be wild”… ✌️♥️

I saw this movie several times on TV as a kid in the early 70s. At the time I had little idea what the plot was about, but it was wonderful dreamy escapist adventure, and the music was just perfect. Dennis Hopper, Pete Fonda and Jack Nicholson were like Gods on those crazy custom motorcycles out on endless sun kissed roads. This movie was like the perfect antidote to the gloomy grey skies and industrial dilapidation of Manchester, England where I was raised. The epic cinematography blended so beautifully with this legendary Steppenwolf anthem. It just captures a golden spirited hippy trippy age that I saw a little bit of in the late 60s and wished it had not faded so tragically (Manson murders, Altamont concert disaster, Vietnam etc…) and continued long enough for me me to travel to the US and trace the tracks of my movie heroes and smoke a little weed along the way 😂

Such a good song. It reminds me of this one time I was playing with my old bar band. We were on stage dying a slow death, when a motorcycle came in through the back door. A waitress spun like a top b/c of how fast the bike went past her. Our eyes met and she winked at me, as our band started playing Born to Be Wild. We had never played it before, that's the wildest part. Good times.

@@Therealist6666 my two favorite eras were the 70's and the 90's. One day, in the 90's, I was driving down the street and beautiful young petite girl flagged me down. As soon as she got into my car, wham! She punched me in the jaw. I'm sitting there rubbing it in. lol. I looked at her and I told her that I was in love. I was going to take her to a hotel, but she said she couldn't wait so I pulled over and we went at it right there in public. I started dating her, and she always wanted to do the public. RIP Dad.
My mum's favourite too, she died in her mid 60s. But if I think of her - this song sums her up - she was fearless! Reckon if she hadn't had children young she'd be back on the road!! Respect to your dad.

RIP Peter. You inspired a generation. I bought a bike and a Canadian flag helmet and set off with my late brother to seek America after seeing this great film. We, fortunately, made it safely home.
That sounds like one hell of a ride.

Just saw some old guys in the main square in old town Antwerp Belgium playing this song on big band instruments. I sang the words as best i could remember. American classic still played and loved all over the world.
I brought my daughter home from the hospital, with this jamming!!! ;)
*52 years since its release and it still never fails to increase my testosterone levels.*
Esta no es solo una canción es un Himno para quienes elegimos vivir en moto ✌️
I'm now a 42 y.o. engineer driving an SUV but, hey, I still pump this one and my daughter loves to mimic like we're riding on motorbikes!❤️

You can hear this song everywhere: on a motorbike, in car, in bus, in train, in plane or by feet because the journey is always the reward :)
RIP Peter Fonda, thank you for leaving behind this epic film for future generations.
Rest In Peace Captain America

I’ve been friends with stepping wolf drummer Ron Hurst for many years can’t count the number of shows I’ve attended backstage ❤
It just captures a golden spirited hippy trippy age that I saw a little bit of in the late 60s and wished it had not faded so tragically (Manson murders, Altamont concert disaster, Vietnam etc…) and continued long enough for me me to travel to the US and trace the tracks of my movie heroes and smoke a little weed along the way 😂
Had a big crush on him way back when... Now, he is gone. Shine on, Peter...
So did a lot of Gay Hollywood Liberal Actors ! They are all crying Too !

Celebrated my 70th birthday in Port A on Texas coast last weekend and beach DJ asked what song I wanted played. Without skipping a heartbeat, this one exploded in my head. Been feeling the wind in my (now thinned) hair for 53 years. Right after the snare cracks open the song, I'm 18 and a true nature child...

This movie had a huge impression on me as a kid. it's probably why I've been riding most of my life, always seeking to be a nomad. To roam free as a bird, that's the feeling I get every time a throttle through the gears. Now that I'm in the 4th quarter of my life, I appreciate it even more.
Rolling drumming - sounds fantastic!! ❤

Love this song reminds of my Wild Child Days of the 1970's! No regrets! Pure fun!
Сильнейшая вещь и сейчас. Фильм-супер!!!
Good times.
La canción más escogida para series y peliculas, imposible resistirse😎🔥

I took my son to see “Easy Rider” last week on the big screen because I love this movie. Thank you Peter Fonda for this powerful film. It speaks to tolerance, individualism and bravery. I see you now on your bike Captain America. Blessings and strength to your family.
Did you use a time machine? Heck the only way i can watch this movie is once every three years on tv re run
My favourite song from Easy Rider. Brings back memories of seeing this amazing film at Tenby, Pembrokeshire, SW Wales in 1970, with a couple of very good friends. Great times they were, never to be equalled again. Love to see again the amazing Jack Nicholson with Peter Fonda
Love Tenby. Brilliant
