Restoration 1975 Japanese SONY Speaker // Restore Repair Speaker As You Wish
a Japanese sony speaker produced in 1975 was discarded by people in the landfill. I brought it back to restore and repair it at my discretion.

  • Not bad. Rotate the spider 180 after you apply epoxy to the coil. This helps spread the glue evenly around the coil. Assures a better spider/coil bond.

  • Hi. Great work Please could you tell me what product you are using in your bottle that you pour onto the speakers to remove the old gasket and cones? Is it some type of solvent?

    • I believe its called butyl accetate, you could try solvents such as iso alcohol or acetone but should be handled with care as any sort of acetate will disolve paint and plastic some faster than others.

  • Speaker input line not correct. if plus, minus correct then woofer move to front to bass effect. this move down side to bass. But nice work. 👌👌👍👍🌹🌹

  • Is it better to have a box made out of compressed wood instead of one made with solid wood?

    • some woods have better acoustic properties than others, mahogany is the best but as speakers generate sound by the movement of air pressure it really isnt an issue. What is important is the construction of the speaker enclosure and the internals.. needs to be damped with cloth or foam this is to stop reverb inside the box of air pressure from the sound waves as well as having a breathing gap or tube to allow the speakers to vibrate as they work.

    • Bamboo is best for strength and sustainability. Sad only one company out of hundreds uses it. Mdf (edit or particle board) or compressed how u say is used a ton but it’s awful and soft too. Becomes garbage

  • Брат передпокраской пропитивай груновкой не,колько раз ну 3 раза будет хорошо особенно угли стики а потм шпаклевка а потом 2раза грунтовка и потом покраска краскиуходитменьше а результат сног сшибательний ,а вообще из нутри когда покриваеш онтажной пеной ,строительной угли из нутри особенно и полностью когда войлочное покр тиепрмазиваеш монтажной пеной и не нее клееш єти акустиче кие системи звучат совсем иначе в качестве єксперемента когда нибудьпопробуй нет резонанса звук больш приятний

  • It's nice, but it could be better. The mid speaker didn't have any dust. It would be better if it were replaced. The cabinet could be made smoother by putting putty and sanding. It was functional, but it was not good in terms of flexibility.
