Behind the Scenes - How Emirates Train Their New Cabin Crew?

2024 ж. 7 Мам.

I visited the Emirates Aviation Training College in Dubai where Emirates train their cabin crew. The new Emirates cabin crew (ab initio) went through an intensive 8 weeks of training and exams to be qualified to fly.
I was given a behind-the-scenes tour of Emirates new cabin crew training including safety and emergency procedure (SEP) such as sliding, aircraft ditching, smoke and fire in the cabin. Then I observed First Aid Training (GMT) including CPR and newborn baby delivery. After that, I visited the image and uniform to see how the new flight attendants get groomed to Emirates standard. Last, I went inside the mock-up aircraft trainer to observe the new cabin crew service delivery.
Emirates Aviation Training College is the world's largest Boeing 777 and Airbus A380 training facility- including flight simulators, pool for ditching exercises, emergency slides and real firefighting simulators. Mock cabin interiors, specialised training rooms and virtual, game-based training scenarios complete the immersive and realistic training environment.
On average, 120 new cabin crew graduate from the Emirates Aviation Training College each week.

  • As a Cabin Crew at Emirates and I can confirm, the training is very intensive and stressful, however I’ve made amazing memories from this college, from the very professional and thorough trainers to how the company treated us as employees. I always felt like it wasn’t just a company, more like a community. Amazing experience and I would do anything to experience it again.

They put so much efforts and patience for their training and during their job. It’s not all about glamour the world see, these people risks their lives to save passengers. They deserve much more appreciation and recognition from world.

  • This brings back memories. I was a flight attendant for Pan Am from 1977-1991 when they closed. I went to Northwest which became Delta 1991-2006 . When I started the world was different, security wasn't as strict, people still dressed appropriately. Emirates and other international carriers still have what I would remember to be old fashioned ways and that is a great way to be! That's one big reason you rarely hear of an international carrier going out of business. What a beautiful college, Emirates!

  • I traveled from Dubai to New York last March 6th on the A380. One passenger got sick and needed medical assistance. The flight attendants were quick and efficient they did a CPR and then I heard they made the call for a doctor exactly how this video shows. The training pays off well. • This is brilliant. I feel like I am taking some of this away with me. Flight attendants are underrated and have so much responsibility. I will say that about 3 years ago when I was flying on a Qantas aircraft the captain made an announcement mid flight asking for any doctors, medical personnel or nurses that might on board asking board if anyone could provide some assistance as there was a child that was having breathing difficulties. Myself (Nurse) and another nurse came forward to help the crew. Very eye-opening and all the adrenaline takes over in the moment. This happened on a Qantas aircraft travelling from Sydney to Lax back in 2017. The child's outcome was fine, we managed to remove the child to an open exit area where the child was able to gain more open space and airflow & from sponging the child down her temperature reduced slightly. At the time the mother was travelling with the unwell child and because the child was in a small space being in the window seat she could not get enough air between coughing fits. It can be confronting but it would surprise you that sometimes even though there may be a doctor on board they have the right to refuse to give treatment. The crew were really good and appreciated the help that we were able to provide with a good outcome. Appreciation for this video, very informative to see from a passenger’s perspective of what the intensity of what flight crew have to go through before even being allowed to work on any of the Emirates aircraft. The Emirates training centre is amazing.

  • Cabin crew are so underated when you think of what they have to learn. At the end of the day they are primarily there for your saftey. Serving you food and drink is extra. Some people would do well to remember that because they would be the first ones screaming for help, if god forbid, any thing should happen. It amazes me how many people don't pay attention to the safety videos too. I actually got thanked by one cabin crew member for paying attention to a manual demonstration once when no one else did.

  • i remember for the first time i ever saw someone with a medical emergency in my 19 years of flying on airplanes was this year. it is interesting to see how the training is done for emirates, thankfully in the flight i was in, there were tons of doctors who could help the passenger who collapsed because of his diabets, but unlike emirates, this flight didn't have the "do not touch the patient" on the pa so everyone crowded around

  • Sam, that was awesome! Emirates is a first-class airline (no pun intended) and from what I see in your videos, everything they do is excellent. What an amazing training college they have! Thank you Sam, and Emirates 👍
