  • I believe one of your dogs is a griffon wired hair pointer. I have one for pheasant hunting she is an awesome bird dog with such a personality!

  • I believe the second bird is a spruce grouse. The grouse in the tree are spruce grouse. Note the red above the eye.

    • Stephen Kutney I wondered if someone was going to mention that. Surprised that they didn’t explain that to viewers. After all, these guys are the experts! One other “point of order” - in Canada we pronounce “portage” like “port - AZJ” with the accent on the second syllable, as the word originates from French, not “PORT- edge” which is the American pronunciation. When in Rome...

    • @@RodMurray Port .....aagseeh. Oui, si vou plait. Grouse were the wrong colorage for Ruffed. I shot something like the same in Idaho; called 'fools hen' or Blue Grouse. Stupid birds. Kill them with a slingshot. Or a well-aimed 22lr pistol.

  • What kennel does George get his pointers out of? Good looking dogs and you can tell George does some real training.

    • Hay Creek Kennel in Gilman WI. I live in Georgia but have hunted grouse with George for 24 seasons in WI, since long before he was a TV star. LOL.

  • How can anyone hunt with the gun broke open .

    @jamesgrimm8678@jamesgrimm86785 жыл бұрын
    • Safety first! It is easy to pump the right hand upwards to lock the barrels closed. Haven't hunted with doubles much, eh? I can fire, eject, and load with one hand on the pistol grip and drop the shells in with my left. Depends on what you are used to. Worst is having a flush while the gun is over your shoulder. Almost a 2 second penalty for that carry option.
