    • @@lizzymizzyyA 21 year old Canadian woman on holiday who disappeared in late January 2013. Her body was found in one of the water tanks on the roof around 3 weeks later. Her death was ruled as an accidental drowning, with a high likelihood that her bipolar disorder contributed, as it is believed that she suffered manic episodes due to not taking her prescribed medicine. There’s also a very famous video of her last sighting, where she can be seen acting very strangely and appearing to hide from someone or something in the lift whilst frantically pressing several of the buttons, before leaving the lift on the 14th floor and exiting the frame. There’s a wiki page about her or a Netflix documentary, which I personally found to kind of drag on about things that were unrelated to her case and keep leaving bits of info out until later on to get you to theorise about how she might have died, but overall I found it quite informative.

  • I remember that girl in the window. That was the Ghost Adventures crew from Travel Channel filming one of their shows (they were focusing on Richard Ramirez and Elisa Lam). People on the ground thought she was a jumper, too, and she had to yell to them they were filming a TV show and that she was okay. I'd be more scared of the neighborhood (Skid Row) that hotel is located in than I would the hotel itself. The dead can't hurt you, but the living can mess you up, especially when they're on drugs or severely mentally ill.

The night in my room was just. Believe me, I thought that maybe the hotel was related with gangs and mafias, there were a lot of door knocking. • My dad lived at the Cecil for 3 months. He was in a grunge band local to the LA area in the early 2000s so this was a normal type of thing for him to do. I remember him saying he felt weird there and that it wasn’t a very safe place for me to come and see him. He left after awhile because it was dark and weird. He really only went there to put his head down for the night but even then it was heavy & had a strange atmosphere about it. Cops were always there and it was just a Mecca for transients, druggies and people on the run.

My dad was one of those people, he also delved into drugs and alcoholism and it took him forever to get out of that. • I stayed in The Cecil Hotel back in 2014 for 3 weeks, not knowing of its history as I actually thought I'd booked to stay in the Stay on Main part of the hotel (this was not the case, and I was on the 9th floor if I remember correctly). Every night, I'd hear voices and footsteps in the hallway outside my room, and when I'd go to check through the peep hole, there was never anyone there - I know voices and noises carried and echoed, but it was like they would stop each time I went to investigate. The worst experience I had though was in the creepy elevators. It was early evening and I got in to go up to my room, but the elevator took me down to the basement. The doors opened, but there was no one there and the hallway was dark except for a light (I assume) just off from the elevators. These doors stayed open for a good 5 minutes, no matter how many times I pressed my floor number but eventually (and to my relief) they closed and took me back up to the lobby where more people got in. Safe to say I didn't use the elevator after that, but after my stay I found out about everything that happened there so I've felt this weird, creepy connection to the place ever since!

  • Thank you, Peet, for making this incredible video! Your bravery and courage to go where you went is commendable! I noticed your cross earring, so I'm sure your faith helped. For those of you who are not familiar with the Richard Ramirez story, I thought I would share my experience in the summer of 1985. A series of horrible murders began happening. Richard would break in peoples' homes through open windows and kill people in their beds. It was awful! After 13 murders, everyone was afraid! I was a young mother of 2 boys, aged 2 & 3. We lived in North Long Beach at the time. A friend of mine from church would meet with me every Wednesday morning to pray for our families, the community and other prayer needs. One Wednesday morning we met, and all we could talk about was "The Night Stalker", Richard Ramirez. We were both so burdened about him! I couldn't sleep at night I was so worried about my babies. My prayer partner was the same. She had small children, too. Everyone was afraid! It bothered us that we couldn't feel safe in our homes. But what could we do to stop him? We decided to pray that God would make him turn himself in. So we did and we felt God's peace as we prayed. At that time there was a Christian radio station who had a talk show on Wednesday afternoons that had a big following. I called the station that afternoon and asked if they would announce to all the churches who met on Wednesday nights to pray that he would turn himself in. They announced it. That was Wednesday, August 28. Then Saturday morning, August 31, Richard Ramirez goes into an Hispanic neighborhood and starts running down the street doing damage to parked cars. People started running out of their homes and chasing him. They finally caught him and began beating him. The police came and arrested him. If you ask me, Richard Ramirez turned himself in. All Glory to God!!! And God bless you, Peet, for your awesome sense of humor that makes us laugh during these very stressful and evil times!

They had been reported there before shutting down, they can live up to 18 months give or take without a meal, and all it would have took was one to get inside your shoe, pants leg, backpack, etc. They're basically vampires that can only be killed with extreme heat exposure for 45+ minutes. Wouldn't wish them on my worst enemy.

Lam Elisa or some crazy thing David talked about. He does the investigations/research on missing people from national parks, mostly young men who go missing, etc. Anyway. Kind of heard a Timothy Speed Levitch "The Cruise" documentary sound there in your voice for a second...you kind of reminded me of him. AND, I'm currently living in an old hotel/converted to apartments which is registered as an historical landmark and categorized under the Department of Interior/National Parks category somehow. This is a Pearl Properties location AND, I have no idea what it all means exactly, but I did experience something bizarre, which made me seek out similar things as you presented today. • I can ONLY IMAGINE the excitement you felt going in! I made sure while in L.A I made a stop at the Cecil hotel not once but TWICE & I was soooooo excited being there. Even tho I was at the door it was a great experience. I was at the entrance door trying to sneak a peek inside because someone had just went up & pulled the doors open & just so happen when I was gonna go the security guard came out & SCARED THE LIVING CRAP OUTTA ME! He didn’t do anything I just didn’t know there was someone in there so yeah he made the trip even more fun lol I’m dying to go back again!!!! You’re lucky!!!

  • Omg. I thought it was just a normal hotel. This is so creepy. And you should really congratulate yourself for being brave. I'm gonna watch your other videos now.
