Islam ended Oliviera's 11 fight win streak as well as Volk's 22 fight win streak in a span of 4 mos. He wanted to fight in July but the UFC wanted him to fight in October. I am not sure what that last guy is talking about, inactivity?

Khabib got screwed over by Conor jumping in line, injury, suspension, COVID, and his dad dying, so the people still hating him have been parroting each other about inactivity so long that it's carrying over to Islam being the same when he will have fought 7 times in 2.5 years because they need to be able to sleep at night. I'll tell you who, drunk, sunglasses wearing Tony Ferguson, that's who. When Khabib was the reigning champ, Oliviera's name never, ever came up as a title contender, it was only after he retired. Khabib did get screwed in 2016 when the UFC used him as a pawn to lure that overrated Irishman out to fight Alvarez only to have said overrated irishman hold up two divisions for 2 years. Khabib could have been defending the title in that timeframe.

Can we just agree that if Charles loses again, everyone STFU forever about him getting a title shot while Islam is the champ? He won 1 and is back in when Dariush already should've had the shot and Gaethje has done more to earn it since his last title shot than Charles has since losing his belt. Islam deserves a fresh challenge and there's a logjam of deserving contenders being kept waiting. I know some not-smart people will read this and think "well Charles already beat Gaethje", but if you can extend that chain of logic for one more thought without having a stroke, Islam already beat Charles, so by that logic why should he ever get to fight Islam again?

And Beneil could just as easily do the same to Islam on a given night that's why you fight the fight and see what happens. When the title shot doesn't go to the clearly most deserving next contender, we get logjams at the top and title rematches (or worse, trilogies) and contenders waiting around not wanting to risk their spot instead of fluid and exciting divisions and fresh matchups

It’s his overall fight IQ. Oliveira draws everyone into wild melees where he is at his absolute best. Islam is too smart for that, and his counters, footwork (good observation, and TD threat also made Charles gun shy last time. Look for him to come out guns blazing this time and either get slept or taken down quickly.
One of the few rematch fights where someone got dominated hard, but people are still 50/50 over who’s gonna win.
Don’t read much the Dagestanis’ mentality, but to me Khabib and Islam are fighters that consider losing a round or even an exchange as an embarrassment or failure. Also don’t think they are given enough credit for it. Every single time they go out there the margins between P4P, GOAT, or just very good fighter are razor thin. One loss and they can lose their entire aura, as well as their claims for best ever. That’s a lot of pressure. Heck, regardless of opinions, Islam officially beat Volk, the reigning P4P, and instead of getting credit, these guys saying it tarnished their opinion of him. Like, what? What was the point of the fight then?

I love Charles but let's be real my man met his Kryptonite that day and I don't see how it will go any different.
