exo's performances are so iconic
EXO have so much influence on international pop culture that big western companies, such as Disney are coming to them and asking them to partner with them. As you may remember, "Lightsaber" was a collaboration between Disney, which owns the Star Wars franchise, and EXO as a way to help Disney promote the most recent release, at that time, of their Star Wars movie "The Force Awakens". So SM came up with the song "Lightsaber" -- which is sort of a remake of a song SM already had also called "Lightsaber" which we heard used in Kai's pre-debut teaser video -- and EXO's accompanying MV. Rumor has it that an executive from Disney happened to catch EXO's performance of "El Dorado" at one of their concerts -- in which EXO also has choreography that uses lightsaber-like lightsticks -- and that's how they were inspired with the idea to ask EXO to collaborate with them on this project. Also, as one of the big 3 Entertainment companies in Korea and around the world, SM has had a relationship with Disney for a long time now and SM has partnered with Disney to produce programs for Disney Channel Korea in the past. Many of the members of NCT got their start pre-debut as members of Korea's Mickey Mouse Club and they starred on the well known variety show which aired on Disney Channel Korea. Those lightsabers are official Disney brand lightsabers given to them by Disney, so they are as close to authentic as you can get without being the actual movie props. One of the reasons why SM agreed to partner with Disney on this project was because it fit so well with EXO's storyline and concept. As aliens from Planet Exo, it makes sense that EXO might be Jedis as well. :D And like everything that EXO does, flowers even play a part in their live stages. Flowers are a central part of EXO's storyline, so we often see flowers in things to do with EXO. Although I am not sure yet what the significance of blue roses is, blue roses seem to have an important part in the story as well. For example, we also see Sehun with a blue rose in their "Love Shot" MV. You also see during "Lightsaber," leading into the rap section, on the floor they show an image of swirling flames, which is the combination of Chanyeol's fire power and Sehun's wind power, which are the two members who are the main rappers of the group. This concert is in Japan, and if you notice for "Lightsaber" they are singing in Japanese -- "Lightsaber" is one of EXO's Japanese songs, so that is why when you watched the MV it was so short, because traditionally most Japanese MVs use an abridged version of the song. I think It's part of Japan's marketing strategy to make you buy the song or album in order to hear the full song. So, most of the time, to hear the whole song you have to see it live in concert like this. (In the MV I think you heard the Korean version and they also have a Mandarin version of "Lightsaber", as well.) Yes, this concert is at the Tokyo Dome, so there is 55,000 people in that audience. The Tokyo Dome is one of the largest concert venues in Japan and there is an unwritten rule that you can't perform there unless you are able to fill to capacity. EXO, and SM artists in general, are a big deal in Japan, so they have no problem selling out concerts. EXO are so popular that they sell out concerts in 0.2 seconds. The Tokyo Dome concert promoters actually call SM and ask them when they want to hold their next concert because they know that they will have no problem selling tickets and most likely will even have to hold multiple day events to accommodate all the fans who want to attend. And as you saw, EXO has one of the largest stage setups, complete with a giant rain machine and moat that was built special for this concert tour. The members get wet several times throughout this concert.

Their song “EL DORADO” Leads into StarWars franchise song “LIGHTSABER” because after the maker and his assistance or producer had apparently stumbled upon EXO live performance of EL DORADO since they previously used light sticks (similar to those ones) for that concert which was either the one in seoul, hong kong and/or Japan that the Starwar makers were attending a premiere there if i’m not mistaken and happened to be blown away by EXO performs, so they later down the road got in contact with SM to have EXO perform a song for the starwars franchise; like a OST or something. I don’t remember the full back story on that.

That is why, EXOs concert holds the record of the fastest selling concert of all time with records of tickets sold out in 0.4 secs and 0.2 secs respectively. And the geometric design you saw on stage (hexagon) is their logo. In every concert they have, their logo is there, and its always worth the time and money you spend. And we are waiting when they will be back together again and have another concert. I am sure you will go wherever their concert will be held..

Firstly, thank you for reacting to EXO. EXO is top-tier Kpop group. Their moves are so accurate. Their energy level is consistent throughout the performance. Their vocals, visuals, choreography, stage presence are all of excellent quality. I suggest you take a look at their live performance of MAMA SMTown stage & also El Dorado. They also have acoustic medley. EXO's live performances can attest that this group is truly amazing.

God, I've been an exo-L for almost a decade now, my biggest regret has always been not able to not watch EXO live concerts, not bc I don't want to spend money, but bc they sold out SO FAST 😭 They had a concert in indonesia and I almost cried bc my net was very slow and I bought the ticket but when I finally went to checkout they said it's sold out. It's unbelievable how popular they are in Asia.
