The shy beginner one feels like a personal attack
The shy beginners is just an introvert; I know because I'm a introvert.
Dude I felt super called out.
Lol that was totally me
@@kiyoo3132 not all introverts are shy :-) Oh to inform you: there are different types of people. Some are more extroverted and have just a little introverted side, which they don't show, some are introverted and extroverted which depends on the environment(like friends where you are going insane or for example a class with attractive people where you go into shy mode) and then there are introverted people which may are very little extroverted :-)

Shout out to guitar stores for tolerating our BS like this. I remember being 15 and going to guitar center with no money or intention on buying anything. Just grabbing whatever looked cool off the wall and jamming on the amps. Really helped me nail down what instruments are comfortable for me and gain a somewhat entry level understanding on operating amps/equipment.
So a time waster then :)

That’s important marketing. The enthusiastic teenagers are the customers of tomorrow.
I owned a music store for 4 years, this is so spot on hilarious. On the flip side, I opened the store because I got sick of going to a store, wanting to play a guitar. The guy working at the store would shred, then hand it off to the customer. This happened in every store I went into. So I opened my own store.
Yeah many of these guys lack basic commercial skills. Like asking people what they're looking for and if they have a budget.

Ended up buying a Gibson Les Paul without trying it since I was still learning. Didnt want to be judged or talked into playing lol.
My first experience was GREAT.. I already had a guitar from a friend so I learned with that.. When I wanted to try other guitars, I went to good ole' Guitar Center.. It was so loud! The first song I learned was 'Teen Spirit'.. It was easy and didn't hurt to play.. I played it in Guitar Center, my first time ever in public and people grouped around me! I had my first concert! It felt awesome to turn around and see a bunch of people, including GIRLS!!!!!, watching me play... When I walked in, it was the most intimidating place I've EVER been... I walked out a rock god! lol
That was me. I was just looking for a western guitar, that fits me. I'm a small person and just wanted a guitar that don't hurt my upper arm while playing. The nice seller understand and reached me different ones. But I was so shy to try because I couldn't play a single chord.

I ended up getting his card and the hours that he works so that when I did pull the trigger and blow about $1500 he was able to make that sweet commission on the sale.
$1500 for a beginner guitar? You're not just a time waster, you're a money waster. too.
@@charliedillon1400 that was guitar, amp, case, and guitar stand combined. Also I'm new to electric, but have been playing bass guitar and acoustic for 10 years. Still happy with my purchase, a year later.
@@charliedillon1400people still recommend a “beginner guitar?” Any guitar you buy as a beginner is a beginner guitar. “Beginner guitars” are terrible. They don’t hold a tune. They sound like shit. You’d never buy one so why would expect a new player to buy one? Find a persons budget and get them the best they can afford. Not a cheap junker that won’t inspire passion to play.
@@TeensierPython Uh no, beginner guitars are real and many are most are completely fine to start with. Go tell a beginner they have to blow a band on a stratocaster because a squire or harley wont "hold a tune" or "inspire passion to play". You know what wont inspire passion to play? The burden of having to drop big money on a guitar. They're called beginner guitars because they're cheap enough to where if you end up not liking it, it won't make a hole in the wallet, but they're just good enough to get a feel for the hobby. And the whole tone thing with expensive guitars is a myth too... tone comes from pickups, strings, your amp and so on. Has nothing to do with the price tag, whether it's a unibody, mahogany, rosewood, maple. Go do a blind test between for example a strat and a squire and tell me if you can hear any significant difference for a 800+ dollar price difference.
@@hey9433 read the end. Find a budget. Buy the best you can afford. If your budget is $100. Then buy the best $100 guitar. If you can afford $1500 then get the best you can afford. If you can’t afford it. Lower your budget. If your budget is $600 why would you buy a $100 guitar?
Love to see a video about the 10 types of guitar store staff. There’s the confidence destroyer, who demoes his own skill instead of the instrument, then the too busy dude who will get to you when they’ve finished inventorying the picks, or the simply too cool to speak to customers dude who is talking to the other cool store staff and ignoring you, the one who can’t stop saying “dude” or “bro” the condescending git who starts a conversation with barely concealed contempt for your musical choices. My father played guitar all his adult life (I was his best student) I took him to a guitar store when he was in his late 80s and, true to form, he sat down and wanted to try a few of the axes…I put an ES 335 in his hands and he started playing standards in his Jazzy chord & melody style; head down & oblivious to the crowd gathering around him many of whom probably never heard anyone play like that in such an informal setting; quite a departure from the usual guy making noise as he butchered Whole Lotta Love on the fluorescent green Ibanez; everyone in the shop exploded in applause after he hit his last major 7th glissando; he was pleasantly surprised & humble but did compare the Gibson negatively to his beloved ‘65 Epiphone Casino which is now mine (dad played ‘til he passed @ age 95)

I probably took "shy guitar" guy to the another level. I'd researched the crap out of various guitar models online, watch KZheads, etc. Then go to the store and play one tab riff and one chord riff. If I didn't like it, I'd go home and repeat the process until I found one that did what I expected both in sound and comfort. Then I'd ask store to check out, inquire about the additional cost for guitar case, and go on my way. The entire experience would be In an out within 15 min. Being in stores like this around actual good guitarists can be intimidating. So I try to go in and out as quickly as possible. Exactly what I did with my most recent guitar purchase. how about "the guy that legitimately wants to buy something but can't try the product out because a bunch of fuckwits are crowding the store"
Laterallus Can definitely relate to that
Laterallus me
The just wanna hear what this damn guitar sounds like but 3 people are all competing for the airwaves so you can't hear it.
relatable
Laterallus God I hate that
I knew a guy who was all these guys combined. And yes, he was loud and shy at the same time. One of the greatest mysteries of my existence.
This is gold!!!! After playing bass for around 4 years, I’m the try different basses but nothing sounds better than my Warwick bass guy. Definitely feel the beginner from years ago. Very entertaining video.
*guitar drops* Me: *heart drops*
I know man, Some chick borrowed my guitar (expensive classical guitar) and puts it on the floor at school (was in a music school). *panic*
same
I'm pretty sure that was a rockband controller, sounded like plastic
EmpuGaming And what happened ?
@Flyboy207 I hope so, but I'd swear I saw strings on the headstock. Neck looked pretty convincing. Could've been a guitar some customer had already dropped?
Can’t forget about the employees who play for hours and then don’t let you try the guitar
I remember buying a Squire Bullet Strat to take apart and make a new guitar out of, and the guy who was helping me out was like "Do you want to play it to make sure you like it?" And I was like "Nah, it's good." (Plus, I've already bought one before.) After I bought it, he let me know I had free tune-ups for a year. Which, I guess was good to know, in case I screwed up building my own guitar.
Christopher Knight LMFAO I was like where is this going
@@joshjlmgproductions3313 do you remember where you got the guitar?
@@Vigilante311 Long and McQuade in the North side of Saskatoon. It's my main music shop that I go to. I actually just got some Ernie Ball strings from that place yesterday for the guitar I made.
@@joshjlmgproductions3313 nice ill check it out, never know maybe ill be in saskatoon someday
Omg dude this was hilarious, I’ve seen this with gun stores on KZhead and it always resonated with me, first time seeing it with a guitar store. I’m beginner intermediate and I’m still that shy guy in the guitar store!!! Crazy this in Seattle!!! I’m in Tacoma so I’ll be checking this place out!
The shy beginner is so me, I literally practiced what I wanted to play before going to get my last guitar. The store had a little noise room and was empty so I had a blast, but I was so anxious lmao
imagine you’re walking into a guitar store, and you hear this otherworldly sound. you wonder “what is happening? is this place a portal to another universe?” turns out while walking around you see a pedal enthusiast just screwing around
sounds like a post rock song lmao
average shoegaze/post-rock fan
I was a pedal enthusiast for a long time, until I finally skipped the middle man and switched to synths. 🎹
When he let that guitar fall over that shit made me wince, just hurt mah soul
they had to almost break guitar to make a funny video clip
@@vadiks20032 I bet it was like $100 squire
beef nacos+ it was his $200 ibanez
Blue Jay me too I bet he felt horrible doing it too
Well it was probably one of his own
The pedal enthusiast one cracked me up and I am so doing this next time I go shopping lol
One of the BEST LAUGHS 😂🤣😅 I had in awhile.🎼🎸🎼
Works at a guitar store: Customers: plays guitar Employee: *HEY*
Guitar store employees are like minifigures in a Lego City commercial
There's a guy who works at the Guitar Center in Omaha who every single time I'm in there, just has to say something to me about how loud I'm playing even though I just played one note. Its not like its my fault that the first amp I plugged into was already turned up just loud enough that he can't hear the phone ringing.
@@LowgaenSchmidt wow I'm from outside of omaha and I know exactly what guy your talking about
3:30 “two for the price of seven” lmao what a good deal
Ikr😂😂😂
SEVEN HUNDRED THOUSAND!!!
NRSTRIKER 🤣🤣🤣
The One Riff Guy was my favorite one - super funny ...
I’ve been playing guitar for over 30 years now, and I’m still the shy beginner whenever there’s people around.
I remember when the shy beginner used to feel like a personal attack.
Can't tell if that is a subtle flex that you're not a beginner anymore or if you've simply accepted your role as a shy beginner
@@iceberglettuce890 ya it’s a flex btw. This is my other account.
I’ve been playing for 4 years and it still is an attack
..I remember when I could breathe . 😶
as a beginner bassist I feel this 💀
You're missing that one guy that walks in and has like a list of all the gear their idol uses and wants all of it verbatim
slizzybeans xo I hate that fucking guy, seriously I get at least 1 of them every other day.
well in defense of the guy that's done his homework, almost every guitar source tells newbies to do their homework first so they know what strings, pups, tuners ECT that they need for their guitar before they go in. that being said my gc has awesome people who I enjoy getting opinions from.
Steve B that's not what this is, Steve. It's a new player who's about to learn the hard way that 1.) you won't play and sound like your influences by having a carbon copy of their rig 2.) trying that is lame as shit, and 3.) the gear costs a lot more than the money their parents gave them.
Shit...
Recommended in 2023 and still one of my favourite KZheadrs love you jarred much love Canada 🇨🇦❤️
What a classic
I wanna hug shy beginner.

3:30 "get two for the price of seven" XD
nils 1142 Oh lol Didn’t notice that 😂
Who doesn't need seven Cajons???
Hey,tú hablas español,no me engañas solo los hispanos conocen el XD
I'm the "play quietly in a corner with my Mustang Micro and after many hours buy the guitar out of guilt" guy
That was so enlightening. I will never work in a music store. Thank you so much~
I'm a little disappointed that the one riff guy wasn't playing One
Really? Talk about an awful joke

To all the shy beginners: any "good" player has been there. Stick with it, the rewards are worth it!
Lol thanks! I have only been playing for 8 or 9 months and now I'm playing for my church band😆😫 Acoustic guitar is the first insterment I have ever played😳
I'm getting my first guitar tomorrow. It's going to be hundreds of hours of practices.
@@saltissalty3833 its a lot of fun😉 I was tempted to give up but im glad I stuck to it! Once you get the basics down your start to learn real fast good luck!
@@saltissalty3833 The first year (give or take) is the hardest part of learning guitar. If you can stick with it that long you have it licked. I used to just strum chords while watching TV, just to get used to switching chords & not watching my fingers. Any time with the guitar in your hands is good. Good Luck!
My goal is to play fly me to the moon in 3 AM with the guitar while looking at the moon, but im noob
The one riff guy was crushing it…hilarious!
This is timeless
1:00 when the guitar dropped so did my heart
same omggg
I mean, it was just a Fender lol.
@@AB-80X it’s still a fricken crime! You could get death row!
A cheap Yamaha Pacifica
I wish I had a dollar for every time I walked into a guitar store and had the honor of seeing the next up and coming Jake E. Lee trying out a Gibson or Fender, and then never seeing them again.
Haha! Every time I pass into a guitar store "Philip Nakas" I look at instruments. My favourite instruments are guitars
Who is Jake E Lee?
Why don't you have enough money? Due to coronovarious or something else?
@@marialenaho5249 Ozzys old guitarist
I guess that they just check out the instrument and than they buy it online for eshop price.
I'd say this is an example of every guitarist, at different stages of play. I remember being everyone of these at different point. Not sure so much in a guitar shop. In general though... lmao.
Hahaha "The pick thief" and "One Riff Guy" fucking cracked my shit up!!!
Note : the real shy beginner actually only uses headphones to avoid anyone actually hearing him :P
The real shy begginer doesn't even know it's possible to play with headphones. I know this because I found out like 2 months ago
Amen, I didn't know anything about amps and trusted the wizards tending the shop to make the string music thingy work, when I bought one the guy told me I could do that and I felt like such an idiot.
I'm a beginner and I just found out because tou made this comment
DraXure Z same😂😂
Very true
3:31 “2 for the price of 7” that’s a deal you can’t beat😂
Guitar Centre cant compete
The Loud guy mixed with the concert guy and one riff guy is always in our local shop ... very funny video we all been there .
Excellent vid miss that store
