  • Does anyone else get super nostalgic listening to this song? This makes me remember driving in the car with my mother to get dinner. It makes me remember life when I had much less stress. This song doesn’t just remind me of my memories, it is a memory. I hope you all are safe and doing well during these hard times and have a good day. Edit 1: It’s midnight, currently. June 27, 2022! I cannot believe the amount of support this comment has received over all of this time, I feel so much genuine love for all of you. As I re-read this comment that I wrote two years ago, so seemingly straightforward, I remember just how vulnerable I had felt while writing it. I was dealing with the loss of a close friend, familial issues, and other personal troubles. Somehow, assisting others when I needed help myself was more than enough to make me feel better, at the time. If you ever need to hear it, remember that you and your well-being should always come first. Help yourself so you can be the best that you possibly can be when you lend a hand to others. Thankfully, I am more than happy to report that I’m doing so much better, now! It has taken such a long time, grieving is a long and difficult journey, one with no clear ending point. After time, however, it does get easier. You will not feel as low as that forever. Regardless, I truly wish that I could express my gratitude to you all, as I’m so incredibly fortunate to have all of these wonderful responses. I appreciate the honesty, the raw emotions that some of you shared when you replied. Never take being able to share your true feelings for granted, I love you all! Stay safe, and once more… have a good day :))💗

    • This group is not even considered authentic country music. This is pretty much pop country music. This is more pop than country. Even Faith Hill and Shania Twain is more country than this, even though many hardcore old school country fans use to considered them as pop back then.     • Thanks, Ra Ra. It's definitely better if you can find your soulmate in the same country. The immigration process really took its toll on us. It became very apparent to us that the reason the government makes it so difficult (and expensive) is so that only the legitimate couples make it through. Those who aren't and still make it, must be amazing con artists! It's hard work! By the time we got to marry, we felt like we had been through a mini war. It definitely made us appreciate our relationship more and there's no way we'll ever risk it because we had to work so hard just to be together.

Maybe we weren't meant to be together. That's why I get extra jealous when I see couples get thorough hard situations. Best of luck.

  • This is where I am right now in life. But I have no one to call. I lost my wife and my son go to cancer 15 months apart now I'm sitting here half-drunk I guess feeling sorry for myself there is probably no way else to put that. I wish there was someone to call because being alone, it's starting to get overwhelming for me. Thanks for listening. Take care T

    • Hang in there, brother. Nothing can replace your family, but allow their enduring love burn from a distance and stay with you. But now is the time start looking ahead. Life is still a gift, and you have had enough time to process your grief. It's time now to start a new chapter. Have you ever watched the movie "Cast Away" about the Fed Ex executive who gets stranded on an island for years, and after being rescued discovers that his wife has remarried? The last scene of the movie shows him standing in a crossroads where he gets to choose which road in life to take. That's where you are, my friend. Put away the drink. Don't self-medicate. Love them forever, but start a new life and build new relationships. That's how you best honor them. God bless!

    • @@RicksCafeAmericana Thank you but I have to take exception to one thing you said. No one can tell you and I mean no one. how much time you need to process grief. My wife was my life for 55 years and my son for 47 years. There is no timeline on grief and no medication can relieve that. For me it was like losing half of myself. There's no timeline for that. Thank you for your response though I appreciate it. And Tom Hanks was a whole lot younger and I am and he was not with his wife anywhere near the years that I was.

I have suffered loss and understand exactly what you mean in your response about the timeline for processing grief. Again, I am very sorry for your loss.
