Heres a link to the thermal cam used in this video: s.click.aliexpress.com/e/_DE9oktR
I didn't see you post the link for the UART video.
Great to see the new content buddy. Nice to see you are refreshed and back at it. Cheers! :) Keep up the great work!

Love that bit 😂😂
Great video, looking forward to it.
Get in there Phil !! Another great result 💪💪
Awesome! You fixed another one. Never a doubt. Thank You.
Great video as usual
TheCod3r, I love your channel so much, I just had to subscribe!
Awesome fix
Great fix and tutorial too. I recently fixed a digital board with 2 sec blod. And it turned out to a cap shorted at the same spot. Although it was the first cap in my case 😊. I guess 2 sec blod comes down to power rails that come on after the main power rails are activated. Having a shorted area it immediately shuts down. Infact, the 2 sec blod also has a initial fan spin too before the shutdown.
Great video Phil, I learned a lot, thanks for taking the time. Lol freaking Fifa 😂
Ok so he said its 2:40 in the morning 16:16, it coincided with my local time down to a minute! What are the odds! Awesome vid btw
awesome video explaining everything to the T For beginners .. Also, the camera the thermal camera is the best on the market I believe I purchased mine right after seeing your review video Very good for finding shorts on Very small components
Every so often you do an outstanding educational video that can also be watched in the company of young children. This was definitely one of them & absolutely first class. 👍
Thanks Ashley, much appreciated
That macro - lens is awesome! Even tho the 4th Cap was defective, is it a good idea to replace all 4? Thank you 🤓
As for thermal camera - you can get used CAT S60 phone that has built in thermal camera. Not the greatest of course, but for around 100€ for a used one, not bad for struggling starters.
In my case it was the third capacitor and i replaced it with 22µF 6.3V
The cap is so close to the coil im sure the extra heat helps its lifespan shorten. I wonder if the cap could be move to another location to get it away from that to help future issues as there seems to be lots of space there.
yes
Not first but nothing to lose for trying 😂 Like always buddy, nice content 😀
Apologies I’m being thick, but to be fair I’m not a technician I just like watching your videos, why when you fix a board do you have to turn it into a digital edition, do you not have the components to rebuild a disc edition or can you not reprogram the bios to marry up another drive not originally linked to the board, I am assuming if you have a drive available that you will have the bios for that drive which you could clone, no?
It's not being thick mate, it's a genuine question. The answer though is unfortunately the disc drive is paired to the APU and the APU is paired to the SSD so to remarry a new drive would mean replacing the APU and all 6 SSD ICs along with the BIOS being reprogrammed to match the serial number too. Obviously that would be a massive job so it's just more economical to convert it into a digital edition. Sadly the boards I buy from my supplier don't come with disc drives or the paired board. I buy them very cheap at between £30-£50 per board though so it's still worth it for me to try and fix some of them and then resell them as digital edition boards 😀
Great vid
