  • It is crazy for me how youtubers who just promote paid partnerships, focus on “wooow, smells good”, unboxing, challenges etc. have billions of followers and you are right here an example of that whatever you do for your skin works! Looking great, well spoken and honest! And btw Happy Mothers Day!

  • I was so excited to see your video pop up, I’m loving your skin care series. I’ve been using your am and pm routines for about 6 months and have had several comments about how good my skin is looking recently. I just turned 50, so compliments on my skin at this age is a huge bonus. Thank you for all your research and preparation for your videos. You are my skincare hero.

I love the fact that you use affordable product examples too. I only use cruelty free products, which you also shared several of as well.

  • Angie - I also printed out your skin care routines and began to do everything but the machines you use and have been complimented for my skin's appearance. I'm about to turn 59 and people always tell me I don't look it and my skin doesn't look as great as yours. Thank you for taking this complex topic and breaking it down into simple terms to understand. You've been my one stop shopping KZheadr since I found your channel! Thank you for sharing all your hard work with us! Have a wonderful weekend! XO ~Lori

  • Hi Angie, I rarely leave comments but I do feel like I need to thank you. I have recently purchased most of your skincare suggestions and I LOVE THEM! I have spent years spending tons of money on products that work half as well as the ones you recommend or that are too harsh after a laser treatment I did years ago leaving me with hypersensitive skin. I have had to take a break from some of my favorites for almost a decade because they were too harsh and by following your suggestions, you have given my skin a new leash on life. THANK YOU!!

  • YOU, my dear, are our skin care Goddess!! Thank you sooooo much for the skin care series and all the enormous research you have done to aid us in making sense of what works and what doesn't. Just the other day, my 2 daughters approached me asking for my advise on what to begin using on their skin for aging protection. I told her about your series and now they are watching and learning from you as well! Bless you for saving us the time and research and helping save us a LOT of money buying expensive products that are just formulated wrong from the get-go to do what they promise. BIGGEST HUGS!!!!

  • Holy Mother of God! Angie! Look how far you've come - they say every journey starts with a step. I remember watching you when you first started your u-tube channel, you mentioned your daughter was watching someone on Utube doing a makeup tutorial and you thought - Hey I can do that! ... and you did! ... and you've evolved so much!! I'm blown away by the effort, knowledge, research and hard work you put into your channel! It only just occurred to me while listening to you talk in this clip - mostly I listen to the information to hear what I can take onboard, but this time I'm hearing a voice of a woman who has educated not only herself but countless others. Thank you for taking the time to explain what I see as a complex subject (the science of skin care - peptides, free radicals, nicotinamide!!! argh!!! I failed chemistry miserably!!!!) and translating it into concise easy to absorb clips of information so we can make up our own minds about what we put on our faces! You're amazing!! I look forwards to seeing where you take it to next. Wishing you every success and happiness ... now I gotta get back to your post and learn about antioxidants, because I had to stop mid clip to write this I was so taken by the moment! :) Xx

  • A way to stabilize L-Ascorbic Acid is to have it micro encapsulated. Many companies will formulate with a micro encapsulated version. I work with several skincare companies that only use this version in their formulas. I enjoy your informative videos especially since I have worked in the natural products industry for 16 years 👍🏼♥️ I really love the Maelove serum. Works great! • Just read this from a commenter on Arna's channel. Might be of some help to others. Caitlin Neill 16 hours ago (edited) I've contacted Drunk Elephant about my dark amber/orange C-Firma I bought from Sephora. I had read somewhere that if its the dark orange color, than it wasn't good anymore and it concerned me. This is what they said (sorry, its long): "Thank you so much for contacting us with your concern! L-ascorbic acid naturally darkens over time. If you notice this happening, even if it seems dark from the start, it doesn’t necessarily mean the serum has oxidized - it’s the normal reaction! We recently put C-Firma through a series of assay testing, and have discovered that the color does not determine the efficacy of the product! We manufacture fresh bottles on a weekly basis. And, it is the age of the product, not the color, that gives a clear indication of the efficacy. I also wanted to share with you the results of recent testing we have done with C-Firma. At Drunk Elephant, we love asking “why” and getting to the facts, which is why we had our C-Firma Day Serum assay tested to determine the active level of ascorbic acid at 30, 90 and 180 days after opening. Initial (day zero) results: 15.5% 30 days: 15.12% 90 days: 14.4% Remember, we always recommend using your C-Firma up within 90 days after opening, at which time you can see it is still potent and powerful. But the real fabulousness is in the 180 day results: 12.40% active ascorbic acid. Even at 180 days (six months), sitting at room temperature, and with a dark orange color, the concentration of active ascorbic acid in C-Firma is holding strong. Oxidation and skincare ingredients is something of a sliding scale-it isn’t as straightforward (or as dramatic) as it is made out to be. A shift in color is, in fact, totally normal with natural-identical ingredients, which can vary in appearance from batch to batch. Don’t be alarmed, and don’t let anyone scare you into thinking this means your C-Firma isn’t just as effective. It’s true that ascorbic acid is notoriously difficult to stabilize, but decades of research has shown that the rewards are worth the effort. We feel that your skin deserves only the best, most well-researched ingredients available today. We’d love to evaluate your serum for you! Please send us the batch code from the bottom of the bottle. This will help us determine the shelf life!" They're a wealth of knowledge, obviously, and sooo so helpful! They looked up my batch number and told me it was good until 9/2018 (I purchased in March). Hope this helps!

  • I also use the Timeless Vitamin C, E and Ferulic Acid. A helpful tip to keep it fresh longer is to replace the dropper with a pump. I bought a set of 6 cobalt blue bottles (exactly the same as the one the vitamin C comes in) with pumps at Amazon and just take out the Timeless bottle's dropper and put in a pump, keeping the air and light out of the serum. Works well enough that I use up the whole bottle without any oxidation.

  • Angie, what an informative video! I have been following you for several years now and I use the timeless Vit C, the Matryxl synth 6, COQ10 and the ordinary lactic acid 0.5%. I hadn’t seen you use the resveratrol so wondering where that fits into your routine. Per one of your videos I contacted Curology and now on my third bottle from them. They suggested I use the Ordinary lactic acid in the pm just before using my Curology as they suggested the lactic acid, even though I use sunscreen, could make my skin even more sensitive. I’m interested in your thoughts. Per your suggestion, since my skin is almost 20 years older than yours 😊, and on the dry side, I use the Australian Gold plus the Hydrpeotide but having some issues when I mix them. Any suggestions. I have lately been using the majeorem mixed with the Australian Gold and that seems to be working. Again I look forward to Tuesday and Friday to wat h your videos. Amazing job! Heading for another cruise in September this time to Australia. 😳.

    • Hi Terry~ I'm so happy you like the skincare routine!! The advice from Curology is right in principal but not in practice. Using lactic acid (or any alpha hydroxy acid) will make your skin more sensitive to sun (as will retinoids) but it's not dependent on what time of day you apply them. You can apply lactic in the morning or at night but your skin will be extra sun sensitive all the time... not just for a few minutes after you apply. So it's really important to use sunscreen all day every day when using AHAs and/or Retinoids (which you do already so you're good to go). xo ~angie

      @AngieHotandFlashy@AngieHotandFlashy5 жыл бұрын
    • Terry Valentine than you for your questions. Angie thank you for your answers. It makes sense that alpha hydroxy acid and reinoids will make my skin more sensitive 24/7 regardless as to what time of day I use it, but I wasn't considering that and, therefore, only using these products in the evening. I have the same question as Terry re resveratrol. I'm following your skin care regime, morning and evening, and seeing wonderful results. When do you use resveratrol (morning or evening) and in what order (what comes before it and what comes after)? Thank you. Also, another commenter asked you to thank your dad and I wanted to add my voice to that thank you. Thank you for your detailed, well researched, helpful videos and thanks to your dad for sharing his chemistry knowledge.

    • Yes! the Ordinary Vitamin C in Suspension 30% is a newer product than the one Angie used. This one has NO gritty feeling at all. If you mix with their Resveratrol and Ferulic Acid product you get an outstanding and strong anti oxidant product. Also both products together cost only $14.70!!! and no, I do not work for The Ordinary just love their scientific based reasonably priced products.

    • Jaidvtu Silicones like dimethicone are excellent moisturizers! The molecules are flat and overlap so that they do a great job of keeping hydration from evaporating. The Ordinary recommends using the 30% Suspension after other acids and hydrators.

Though I used it all over my face every day & night as part of daily routine. My chin in the peach pit area is now sagging just since I I started started using it in conjunction with dermarolling my chin. 1.What is you thought? 2.What do you think about using a rose quartz roller as well?

    • The most common cause of sagging skin is aging and sun exposure. As you age, your skin loses the collagen and elastin, your skin's supportive connective tissue, that make it look soft, plump and youthful. While we can't stop the hands of time, limiting sun exposure and not smoking are two preventative things we all can do.

  • Extremely helpful and informative! I am a Crazy Hippie Angie fan...I own 86.8% of the products she is talking due to her influence. I had to pause/delay the beginning of the video so I could I apply my Timeless 20% Vitamin C + E Ferulic Acid Serum! It is the start of my morning application after shower. I never skip it. (I store it in my fridge). This video was action packed for me...I am exhausted. Why? I kept talking back after each product …"You tell em Angie", "Yeah, that's right", "Uh huh", "So true!". Normally I quietly watch. But not today-I sounded like Diamond and Silk. Ha. The majority of these products (minus a few of the latter) are extremely affordable. They are not boutique priced and readily available by a simple web order. Her amazon store is my go to source. I encourage you to print her daily routine list and start your collection of these products. I did gradually myself as my pricey boutique stash dwindled. My encouraging words come from noticeable results-driven by and confirmed through compliment comments I receive. Bottom line through Angie's research/influence I have finally found products with results! : )

Do the basics, gentle cleansing, antioxidant and retinol use, frequent use of broad spectrum sun protection, don't smoke as smoking as another major contributor to aging. Eat a healthy diet of brightly colored fruits and veggies and drink 8 cups of water daily. All things that will help you look and feel wonderful.

  • Drunk Elephant might be expensive; however, it is the best VitaminC in my book. It is great for dry skin (very moisturizing and offers the best glow). Pumpkin is added for extra benefits and you KNOW when it is bad because of the smell and it will turn orange. It doesn’t have to be clear to know that it is bad. What is the difference between a clear turning yellow & a yellow turning orange to know it’s bad? They are not trying to deceive anyone. In MY humble opinion, DE is far superior to Timeless.

    @janinemckenna4409@janinemckenna44095 жыл бұрын
    • I'm not implying that DE is trying to deceive their customers, just that the color of the pumpkin ingredient makes it harder to see when the l-ascorbic acid has oxidized.

      @AngieHotandFlashy@AngieHotandFlashy5 жыл бұрын
    • HotandFlashy Yes, I realize that. However, the yellow color turns an orange/brown when it starts to go bad and smells. So, I don’t see a difference between a clear turning yellow or a yellow turning orange/brown. Just my opinion and DE is my preference. That’s all, no criticism. My opinion.

  • So she's using two different Vitamin C serums now? I guess it's a coincidence that 3 "gurus" I have subscriptions to mention this "Mae Love Glow Serum" that they are suddenly using in their new videos this week. I had just started learning about makeup about a month ago and I have spent over $150 based on so called recommendations yet when they get to their top ten or must haves that product that was the miracle for women two weeks before isn't even mentioned again. I appreciate the tutorials from HotandFlashy, they were super helpful but all this deceitful advertising and not knowing when someone is sincere or not is just too disconcerting. Seriously, I had 3 notifications in the last 2 days and all 3 mentioned Mae Love "Glow Serum" as something they use now. I feel like such a chump for spending all that money. Another thing is the special lighting. One "guru" showed her setup in her bedroom and now I know that ALL these women are using the ring lights, photography lights, or both which greatly soften and filter out imperfection and make someone look profoundly more naturally flawless and younger. They're really cheap. There is a reason that someone made a light JUST for "beauty gurus" doing videos. High demand of course. One girl the other day moved towards the camera to reach for something and the whole side of her face was covered in red acne. When she backed up she looked like her skin was perfectly smooth. They have ring lights that people can attach to their phones so they can have this special lighting wherever they go off to. One guru showed recently how special camera and editing filters are so easy to use and they took like 15 years off of his face in an instant.

    • Obviously I'm not doing that. Not sure why you assumed I was. I clearly pointed out that three of my subscriptions hocked this Mae Love serum (each with their discount codes) even though they are using another Vitamin C serum but none of them revealed they were being sponsored or received some promotional package. Hot and Flashy was the 3rd one in a row that pushed it in her new video. So I wrote my comment and put in all the other things I've noticed, and the conclusion I came to. I wanted to learn about makeup from real people, not watch commercials from paid actresses.

    • T higgman Listen, things at my house work similarly to the way they work at Angie's. I try a product and love it, but as I get close to finishing the product I look around to see what's out there. I get samples, I get new product in beauty bags - I find new loves. I think Angie is one of the gurus who is very transparent. She gets product in the mail and tries it, of course. That's what beauty gurus do, it's her job to try the latest thing and do reviews. That's why I watch anyway. Several gurus mention a product at the same time because a big PR mailing goes out and many review around the same time. That does not make the video "sponsored". Lauren Mae Beauty has a video or two about how the KZhead beauty game works and it's worth a look to see how it all works. As for the lighting, a decent quality video requires lots of light or features won't show up. Many gurus filter and deceive, but Angie shows us her face, very close up and without makeup, all the time. She is not hiding her true state. And remember, you don't need to use exactly what any guru is using at any given time. If she liked it last month it's great to use now. I find things I like and stick with them only until I finish the bottle! I enjoy trying new things. Others have a routine they stick with for years. You do whatever serves your skin best. And give Angie another chance, maybe?
