Absolutely thank you for this.
Loving the tutorial! I just want to make sure that I can find my music on the instagram or facebook stories!
Thanks for the video -- and for the promo code!
useful content for artists, thank you! btw what app do you use for video editing?
I use Final Cut Pro X to edit all of my videos and Gling.ai to do the initial cuts of dead space and repeat phrases.
@@IAMLXGEND thank you!
Man, this distribution thing is such a complicated mess. I'm personally swaying towards CDBaby, but there are so many options that one can't ever really know what's best
This is why I’ve tried a lot of them. CD Baby, LANDR, DistroKid, TuneCore, Ditto, I’ve used like 75% of the major ones out there just to see which works best for me. 🤷🏾♂️
@ToxicHoney7 I use Distrokid at the moment
Chill bro tf 😂😂😂
@@IAMLXGEND And what is yours final recommendation??
It depends on your personal needs, I can’t recommend something to you unless I know of what features you’d like to have. Each distribution has its own positives and reasons you would get them. I personally use LANDR & CD Baby. I have used Distrokid in the past but don’t like paying yearly for the added features.
Thank you. Upload Tunecore. I read mostly 24/96 and 44.1. Is that all they allow or... Much of my music is 24/88.2. Is that allowable or not a good idea because of the other outlets they work with. Thank you again, Kihm
Quality content as always !
Thank you!
Can you distribution my music
Good stuff subbed ☝🏼🙏🏼
Thanks again for your video's
Hi, Legend just another international follower of your Content from France😊 In the Us Do you have a pretty good and simple App to Create Album Single Covers?? (Photoshop not for me) Thanks
A lot of people who don’t like photoshop or don’t know how to use it tend to use an online editing site called Canva.com It has a ton of features and stuff to choose from and it’s pretty simple to use. May want to look into it. It does cost a subscription though.
@@IAMLXGEND I appreciate a lot,thank you
CD baby takes 9% after one pays them upfront for distribution service. When do they stop your 50%? And l can't find your site nor being able to demo any music on shopify, pls add link of your work there. Cheers

I've subscribed to your channel; it's great! I'm wondering if CD Baby accepts Payoneer as a payment method. In my country, PayPal isn't available, and obtaining a USD bank account is challenging. Additionally, does paying the one-time fee for my single or album mean I won't incur any further charges indefinitely?

Thank you for your analysis! What would be the best time for an artist to move distros? I have some tracks I want to upload, and I was mulling it over whether I wanted to switch distros now or later. I also thought about waiting until I the royalties for this month have rolled in through my current distro, so I can cash them in before I do anything lol.

i use Ditto Music and i’m very satisfied 🖤
Bro how much time they take to pay off you?? Someone said 3 months is it true?
@@musicLOVers-lq1cm most distribution companies (like ditto) shows you stat after 3 months (some after a month). ditto set a threshold of £30 that you will receive within two weeks after initiating withdrawal process
💯keep going
Ditto updated their publishing to be included in the yearly distribution fee.
Since when they told me I had to upgrade
thanks getting it now
Does anyone know if any of them upload to VK music? It is russian music platform
I love CDbaby but they have very limited options of genres to choose for meta data
What do you think of Record Union?
I like CD baby but when I see my release on these platforms they’re under my government name and not my label name as requested that’s my only beef with them
I'm stuck on who to register to as some of my newer music are licensed tracks through beatstars. I currently use cdbaby but but now i have to look for an alternative.
Why? Does CD baby not allow beats from BeatStars?
Verrryyy helpful. Thank you!
CD Baby charges now to opt in to their sync services. I think its $35 now
You should also check our platform to add your beats and music into the content id system to monetize the content by creators on socials and to track artists and songs on streaming platforms by beats
So your platform is geared towards beat makers I’m assuming? Those who release beats and want to get that content ID match if and when a beat is used in another’s video?
What platform is this

Too Lost is pretty sweet, $36 for unlimited music and artists and 100% of the earnings. There’s more info I’m forgetting, but after trying out the popular distributors, this one has to be my favorite.
Never heard of that one
@@IAMLXGEND I want to say it’s fairly new. Saw it on a Reddit post that compared many distributors, and decided to try it for myself. I’m using it to release my music and my friends’ as well.
Also, Content ID is included! That’s another big thing I forgot to mention.
@@ShadyGabe sounds interesting. Do the releases stay online after stopping the payments? Or do you have to pay "forever"?
@@instrumental_mind_official that’s another thing I forgot to mention; you can stop paying and have it up still for 20% of the revenue, meaning you keep 80%.
How do you feel about soundcloud distribution vs other services?

Have you ever experienced using repost network for distributing songs?
Been with DistroKid forever. Switching to Symphonic.
I’ve heard of them but don’t know too much. What do they offer?
Distrokid here too. Why did you switch if I may ask? What were the pros and cons of Distrokid? Also what are the benefits to the one you switched to? Thanks for sharing. 😊
@@innerwinnerproductions834 Distrokid is randomly banning people because AI bots add their songs to playlists and they get "fake" listens. Completely not the artists' fault. It's just Spotify and DK laundering money back and forth basically.
They look pretty dope, thanks.

I really like CD Baby option which is only affordable if you release an album not many singles cause If I wanna release 10 singles (which I think I'm not) so will be $100 per year. But with releases to apps like Tiktok, Instagram and future platforms, help you with publishing, promoting and more options is just incredible. They just keep 9% of royalties but maintain your music If you stop making it. Not bad at all. I think I'm going to switch from Amuse to CD baby. Thank you for this great recommendation, 1 subscriber more here, greetings from Colombia.
Mind if I ask but why do u want to move from amuse? I used distrokid and they pretty much destroyed my socials by adding inaccurate playlists on my YT profile which I could not edit, myself songs weren’t even visible in that whole mess and their customer service was a solid -10/10. No email address, their bot based customer service was entirely irrelevant and I even tried to contact their social media.

LANDR has so many different features for different types of musicians. Definitely a creative house for sure

Woo! Glad to hear it!
What about amuse and soundon
Man I’m behind the curve. Since when does Shopify have music distribution lol
Man theyve had this stuff for years but it doesn’t distribute to streaming platforms. It’s just distributing stuff yourself aka having people buy direct from your own website. There are apps made for it

I’ve got a question. If I switch distributor frome tunecore, can I reupload the same release keeping the streams by using the UPC of the song? I did that with songs taken down from distrokid in another distributor and it worked fine
good question
your not using distrokid anymore?
Nope. Not currently. I can't afford adding more and more annual payments to my releases for different features.
How you doing brother, who do you use for your music distribution services, Cdb , tune , or DistroKid ?
LANDR & CD Baby

Honestly, I can't be dealing with Ditto anymore. I hate the platform, the design is awful. It's so specific with artwork and the text on it and the size. Sometime I get it to the exact dimensions and it still rejects it. I'm just done with it. That's why I'm here looking at alternatives.
Am I still be the „owner“ of my music or will they be owner and be allowed to do shit with my material?
It's a " Distribution deal " man...
Who use Soundcloud?
does cd baby take a commission from our royalties?
Yes 9%. 30% on youtube, facebook revenue
@@JeevanJoybro which distribution to choose i cannot pay 5$ for utube monetization on distrokid as 5$ is a lot of Indian rupees 🫠
If you can't pay $5 for KZhead monetization then I'm assuming you can't pay for a subscription either. In this case you should use Amuse as I believe they have a free distribution option. They just take more of your royalties from streams as a cut.
@@IAMLXGEND No i do have a budget i just wanted to know the details since the cd baby website isn’t exactly transparent. I am already using a great paid service tho rn, thanks! 💛
As someone previously noted this is a mess. I have used CD Baby Pro for 4 album releases. I keep researching to determine if there is a better way as with the last two big time lag with PRO registration. Of course CD baby support is useless in this area. Bottom line they are the devil I know.
Love your stuff man, but one thing you missed: With Ditto’s pro plan ($60 per year) they don’t charge extra for publishing/pitching AND your music is uploaded forever even if you stop paying the subscription. I’m personally moving back to CD Baby for the time being, but I felt you didn’t quite give Ditto their just due there. Keep up the great videos though! You rock man!
I didn’t miss anything. They JUST updated that. This video was filmed in June 2023.
Tunecore also makes it very difficult to cancel its almost impossible..
So it’s forever??
@alva7_official Only if you do very good research on how to cancel it. I had it for a year then tried to cancel but took me weeks to figure out. It was only until I called them out as scammers, they actually listened to my request.
Cd baby user since 2013
I got started on CD baby waaaay back in the day
Do you get all your royalties and sync royalties with the pro option?
Sync is now a part of their “boost” option.
Cd baby it is
What are the cons of cd baby?
Bad customer service apparently
Tunecore from afar sounds like a good scam, not only they don’t provide any answer for music takedowns or why they reject your uploads, their service is bot driven. Tom MacDonald and his hit “FACTS” is one recent example, look for yourself.
Cdbaby chat and broken email ticket not much better

Guys ditto is changing there pricing on Jan 8 you will pay ₹999 for basic and ₹3299 for pro In pro you will get free publishing with 10% commision and handle 2 artist
Does it takes down our songs when we don't pay annual charges? Or our songs will stay for lifetime?
@@aryanamanbh in PRO it will stay forever
I had stop paying mines and it stayed up
They all sound like bad choices while the ones you named are better than all others😭 Got a big question, cd baby, is there a way to surpass that 9% royalties they take? Bc thats very high. If they didnt take royalties i’d go with them 100%
And why do they sound bad?
@@IAMLXGEND the ones that give 100% royalty take the music off when subscription ends and those who let music stay online for ever without expecting extra payment take royalties, feels like this distributing industry really got the upper hand on artists. I’ll have to go with cdbaby since they dont have recurring payments. I got major health issues right now and want the music to stay on there forever regardless of what happends, and if i was perfectly healthy it would suck leaving music behind for future generations or my family to receive money from it they would have to pay or a share has to go away from royalties. Im not a big artist right now, id like to think ahead still
Would be perfect if there was a distributor with 1 time payment and 0 royalties, wouldnt mind paying more for that service
@bobo8118 aka: a unicorn. There is no distribution company on earth worth using that gives you 100% royalties without a subscription. You’re either gonna pay a subscription or get a cut taken out. Good luck.
@@IAMLXGEND thank you for the clarification bc i didnt check every single distributor making my point earlier. Checked a lot of them tho, now i know this is all there is ill choose one. The paying for subscription isnt an issue but the taking down part was. Anyway, ty for the vid it was very helpful, and would you know if you switch from distributor you can keep streams? Lets say i do cd baby first, then start making more distro would cost me annually, could i keep te playlist placements and stream count on the song?
Cd baby doesn't make sense if you make over $1000 a year on streams. You'll end up paying them $90/year and it'll keep on increasing the more you grow.
no money no honey ,-)
3:00 If you think 20% is high you need to check out now, it's 50% 🤣
Who’s 50?
CD Baby Commission 9% vs Tunecore commision 0%
TuneCore: pay forever or we take ur music down
@@IAMLXGEND Yes I realize that like you said in your video and I'm not trying to disrespect you, your video was informative for me. @@IAMLXGEND Hmmm... the intention wasn't to be critical, just to bring up the topic.
Dude. Tunecore is evil af.
So I’ve heard
Dude forgot to mention the most important part 😂 cd baby keeps 9% of your royalties
True but with any other distribution platform on the planet you’ll be paying for the rest of your life just to keep your music up. It doesn’t matter who you pick, you’ll be paying for it one way or another whether it’s one singular time up front (CD Baby) or for eternity (TuneCore, Distrokid, Amuse, etc) The choice is up to you, the viewer.
There is now Unchainedmusic, you keep 100% royalties and you pay no fees at all.@@IAMLXGEND
Amuse is scam
Tunecore is a scam
I’ve heard
It didn’t scam me
Ditto music doesn't pay their artists. Avoid them.
Seriously? What do you recommend?
People have been saying this for years with zero evidence of such accusations. I’ve used Ditto myself and haven’t seen any issues. If you’re not getting paid it means 1 of 2 things: You don’t teach the threshold for withdrawing money (almost every distributor has this) or you did but it takes THREE MONTHS for those funds to come to your account (every distributor has this as well) If you’re going to make a claim, bring evidence of such claim. I wouldn’t share a company if they were scamming people.
@@IAMLXGEND lol although I don't reach the threshold, my money has been processing for fake streams and fraud for over 2 years which is why I started moving the same songs to other platforms. If they were actively processing my royalties then I would have added more music to their platform as opposed to moving my music around so mucu. I've been able to actively withdrawal $1.66 but have $19.21 that has been processing for years. I could send you screenshots of that helps.
@@podcastarabi so this question is pretty subjective. This all depends on what you're looking for. I've distributed through Ditto, United Masters, Distrokid, SoundOn, and I'm currently using Symphonic and I love TooLost. I would try TooLost for the features that they offer at the base level and pitching opportunities. I'd go with Symphonic for those same reasons but the ease in transitioning your music over to their system. You search, select and upload a music file but they import all of your metadata and album art. It's easy. Again, what matters is what you are looking for in a distributer more than anything. Some people like that SoundOn is free and works directly with tiktok. I upload my beats there.
Well when all the negative experience is always about account getting terminated, that's super weird, to be honnest, i do not trust much in them@@IAMLXGEND
