  • Hi all - we’ve heard your comments about the show title and agree that it’s not the best framing for this video so we’ve changed the title to “Adults Explain.” Additionally, for those asking about the subject matter, we received permission from all parents involved to discuss this topic and they were on set for all conversations. We made this show because we’re seeing a lot of kids encounter these complex topics at a young age. Our hope is to have a thoughtful discussion explaining the ideas to them now, so they can make their own choices as they grow up. At the end of the day, we hope our videos can help embrace empathy. Thanks for helping us to grow and learn even as we continue our journey as Jubilee! with gratitude, Jason

      @brielle6306@brielle63062 жыл бұрын
    • @@adenm8963 huh??? Because firstttt of all they are a child…. 🤦🏼‍♀️ Hisstorically we tend to age black children, especially boys. Black boys as young as 10 may not be viewed in the same light of childhood innocence as their white peers, but are instead more likely to be mistaken as older, be perceived as guilty and face police violence if accused of a crime, according to new research published by the American Psychological Association. Researchers tested 176 police officers, mostly white males, average age 37, in large urban areas, to determine their levels of two distinct types of bias - prejudice and unconscious dehumanization of black people by comparing them to apes. To test for prejudice, researchers had officers complete a widely used psychological questionnaire with statements such as “It is likely that blacks will bring violence to neighborhoods when they move in.” To determine officers’ dehumanization of blacks, the researchers gave them a psychological task in which they paired blacks and whites with large cats, such as lions, or with apes. Researchers reviewed police officers’ personnel records to determine use of force while on duty and found that those who dehumanized blacks were more likely to have used force against a black child in custody than officers who did not dehumanize blacks. The study described use of force as takedown or wrist lock; kicking or punching; striking with a blunt object; using a police dog, restraints or hobbling; or using tear gas, electric shock or killing. Only dehumanization and not police officers’ prejudice against blacks - conscious or not - was linked to violent encounters with black children in custody, according to the study. The authors noted that police officers’ unconscious dehumanization of blacks could have been the result of negative interactions with black children, rather than the cause of using force with black children.

    @loismensah9293@loismensah92933 жыл бұрын
    • It’s not inappropriate. Polyamory isn’t about sex and I think the lady explained it wildly wrong. This is similar to how people freak over children learning about homosexuality, it’s not inappropriate nor centered about desire. some people end up having multiple consensual relationships and that’s their prerogative. What I appreciate but wish could have been better about this video is the introduction of different forms of romantic relationships. Pure information and introduction, if the children decide it’s not for them later on in their lives -or it is- the exposure is there as a tool.

Explaining to them, in an age-appropriate way what each relationship is about is ok, but asking them to choose what they want is not age-appropriate. I'm not impressed Jubilee. She's never going to learn to handle conflicts, different opinions, sacrifice, and bonding over/through hardship, if she's polyamorous. At the first sight of resistance, she'll just flutter to the next branch and when the times get though, (and I mean _really_ tough) she has no idea how to endure, how to solely depend on on person. That is if she's going to get pregnant at all, by the looks of it, she's going she be riding the CC for the next 10-15 years then start blog posts about 'where have all the good men gone'.

      @rey_nemaattori@rey_nemaattori3 жыл бұрын
    • @@rey_nemaattori I think this is quite an oversimplification and biased comment. The situation you’re now describing is what leads to such a high divorce rate in recent times. Hardships are important in any relationship, not just with your significant other. This has no bearing on your monogamy/polygamy stance, unless you are so antisocial to the point where any form of resistance results in someone completely giving up on a relationship. Which most people simply do not do. Relationships are hard, difficult and often time consuming. For that reason it’s much harder to give up on one, than people think. At least that is the case for genuine connections. Modern society has made escapism much more accessible. Dating apps, online forums or simply the ease of distant communication in general has allowed for easy affaires. Seriously just by texting people can fall in love or form easy connections. Cheating has become much more widespread. Which isn’t much of a surprise. Monogamy worked for so long because partners simply weren’t ass accessible in the past. Commuting happened by foot or best case scenario by horse. Meaning that for most you were restricted to your village and maybe the surrounding area. This is in stark contradiction with modern society. Where you pretty much have access to the whole world with the click of a button. The temptation is high especially when your most important relationship isn’t going the way you are expecting it to. Divorce rates are up, the amount of affaires happening are up, children caught up in nasty circumstances by fighting parents are up. So clearly this narrative isn’t working so well.

    • Soitowo you’re logic is so off. Most kids aren’t just complete idiots, maybe the ones that’s you’ve been around are. Also just because a kid doesn’t get abused, doesn’t mean that the kid will be “more respectful”. When parents learn to allow children to express their emotions without getting belittled for them, then their kid will be “more respectful”. I can agree that if you just give your kid anything that you aren’t helping them develop basic life skills, but that has nothing to do with them being “respectful” or not.

If you were to compare it to a restaurant, a person can be a Chinese food restaurant one day, then a Mexican food the other, then move to a different location, then not be a restaurant anymore even.
