I'm so glad we don't have skunks in Australia. Here we just have to worry about every single animal trying to kill you rather than make you smell bad.

@@Donor-yp4mu You're much more likely to be stabbed by a deer or die from tick bite/lyme disease. More people die from hitting deer then deer that are killed by hunters. There is a war going on out there and you're worried about a few people killing a few people? Don't you see that the deer are winning? Everybody thinks they're just big bunny rabbits but they're dedicated and cunning to the point of suicidal attacks. You don't have to have venom to be dangerous. It sounds crazy but I think they're working with the insurance companies.

Yup, that next trap sounds pretty nasty, much more likely to injure than kill.
The skunk was just chilling. It was probably asleep when you went to let it go since they tend to be nocturnal. It got a good meal and had a nice safe box to sleep in.

I've been sprayed while trying to release a skunk, this would have been a way better trap to use.
This was just what I needed today! The footage of the skunk with the Nutella jar on his head, banging around underneath the house was great. Glad you didn’t get sprayed this time! 😂 Can’t wait to see next weeks harpoon mouse in action!👍🏻
Talking to my local fish cop this past summer about live skunk traps. He told me flat out he would rather I didn't relocate a skunk and make it someone else's problem. Take it somewhere safe and put some extra holes in it's hide.
Depends on where you live. I do it all the time, but it's easy here to get ten miles or more from someone's home. Skunks will normally travel 3-5 miles as a home range. Besides, where there is one skunk, there are others. Kind of like taking a bucket of water out of a lake and calling it dry.

Easily relocated 2 big skunks in a regular cage trap. I approached slow with old sheet. Draped sheet over and into car trunk they went. Slow drive to friends house for the release. Ha ha, hah. No, in the woods I mean. 🤣 😉

Hey Shawn, I've caught a lot of skunks with different traps but I've never seen this variety before. It's looks great. I usually use a Havaheart live trap or a tube style called 'The Skunker'. This one looks like it would work like a Havaheart which is great for catching skunks but it's much harder to keep them from spraying. You have to cover the trap with a sheet so they won't see you, the white plastic eliminates the sheet step. I just wonder how the plastic will last if the animal starts chewing. I know a racoon will tear the heck out of things when trapped.

I almost gave a thumbs down, since you got away odourless a certain entertainment value was lacking in this vid.😀👍 There's a vid on KZhead where a guy stops his car as there was a skunk in the road with it's head stuck in a container and could get killed, the brave hero helped the skunk and didn't get sprayed.
Please don't recommend or buy from amazon, their employees are under so much pressure they pee in bottles at their workstation and avoid drinking water from fear of losing their jobs, and in 5 years 200 employees attempted suicide on the job. You can almost always find better prices elsewhere anyway.

A mouse trap that shoot spears. Now that I have to see.
We have a live trap as well, it looks more like a cage but works. We wrap it up in a feed bag leaving the end open, it has caught alot of skunks. We release several miles away, we open one end and soon the skunk comes out nice and calm (no spraying)

THANKS! There are skunks all around here where I live. A neighbor down the street has them coming up and eating out of his dogs’ feed dish. Nobody has been sprayed yet. He has even given the kits names. I have warned him that skunks carry rabies.

I throw a blanket over the trap and carry it to the creek and give it the swim test. Haven't had one pass yet.
That's what I've always done....if you're gentle and the skunk doesn't spray on the way to the creek....he won't spray while hes under water either!

Hi Shawn, how far from your house do you release these animals? Did any recognizable critters come back?
We use these poly-traps regularly at our Animal Damage Control business. They're great! Perfect for skunks, or for raccoons etc., where you can't risk someone seeing it and possibly messing with it (getting bit). Worth every penny!
I do some ADC work also and make skunk shields for wire cage traps out of tin roofing flashing. Does the same thing, but a lot less money.

Can you do a video about how you tamed the wild mice you caught? How long did it take? What about fleas and lice? Do you worry about getting bit?

I've used that trap. They are very good. I just wish one side could be made of lucite or something see thru. You can't tell if you've trapped a skunk or your neighbor's cat.

Hi Shawn Greetings from Ireland 20/20 and family. I agree that all your traps that you feature are humane, and the ones from Asia have no control what's so ever . I love your videos and realize that your ultimate goal with a pest animal is a trap design that instantly kills fast. I fail to understand why some subscriber's get annoyed when they don't see the full footage, but they have to realize that Utube HQ have implemented lots of rules ,and could strick your video,s. Best of luck for your future.
