Today we’re going to talk about the relationship between fasting during Ramadan, and it’s immune effects.
Ramadan lasts between 29 and 30 days. During Ramadan, you’re required to not eat or drink anything from just before sunrise to just after sunset. This is a dry fast, which means you’re not drinking any water.
What you eat before and after you fast is going to make or break your success. Having junk food or refined carbohydrates before and after your fast could inhibit some of the effects you could achieve from fasting. However, low-carb, keto-friendly foods may be much more beneficial to have during your meals. Ketones are even anti-microbial.
Benefits of fasting:
• Decreased cytokines
• Increased macrophages
• Increase the microbiome
• Increased resistance to stress
• Decrease in oxidative stress
• Increased autophagy and xenophagy

Ramadan was 1 time event in history when revelation of the Quran started , and its purpose was to tell people of that time do a process of stead-fasting , meaning absorbing and consuming the message of God, to achieve conscience of God and follow his message, it had nothing to do with abstaining from food or drink .
Welcome to your brothers and sisters

I became a Muslim 5 years ago ! Intermitent fasting for one month each year and few days during the year keeps me in a better shape than not doing intermittent fasting ! I think it’s the best thing that I am doing for my body ! And surely I pay attention to what I eat as well ! ❤happy Ramadan to everyone ! May you all receive all the blessings and enlightenment needed !

Tried keto two years ago and it worked so well. Knowledge no matter from who is blessed. Sad thing among Muslims, this subject is not explored deeply. They should be most eager.

May you live longer to see yourself fast and reap benefits of it. Fasting purifies our soul and helps us to be humble and grounded. It helps to be grateful to the lord and brings a change in our attitude of seeing others. We value all that we have and feel contented and satisfied. We stop envying others, hating others. Charity becomes habit. Empathy , sensitivity towards others becomes our habits.

@Rose A you do realize that Muslims don’t fast only for health benefits. I’m confused about your comment here. Maybe you’re a revert to Islam and you’re still learning about Ramadan. I hope your husband is a practicing Muslims, so he can teach you a lot this holy month of Ramadan. It has rules, benefits, but it’s also a time Muslims use to get close to their Creator. For example, Muslims read Quran, say a lot dikr, pray Taraweeh and so forth.

Dr. Berg we the Christians have the best fasting and Islam took thier fasting from the christians religion because before Easter we have to fast for 50 days without any food or drink we start fasting from 12 am to 5:30 pm without any food or drink at 5:30 pm we eat but only vegeterian food only vegeterian and we the christians Assyrians do practice this fasting till now a day unfortunately Catholics don’t . So it is NOT RAMADAN PLEAE STOP COMMERCIALS ABOUT MUSLIMS OK .

“But, to fast is better for you, if you only knew”- Quran 2:184
@Fatima Alzahra following a certain diet has the potential to make you more healthy, which doesn't collide with what the prophet says. in fact, most of the things we eat these days are full of so many harmful substances that setting them aside for a while would prove to be a good choice later on down the line. they could be as simple as regular toast. I don't think Dr. Berg is the type of person who uses his influence in a certain way to attract people to use his products, which in this case is "His" keto diet as you said.
@Fatima Alzahra dont be rude, the guy is doing good things and is nice to muslims. Im a muslim and a nutrition and lifestyle coach and his advice is great. Yes we dont need to do keto but the guy isnt a muslim easy now sister.
@Fatima Alzahra 😆
@Fatima Alzahra Halal merely means permissible, not obligatory. Imagine God telling all people to eat only meat. Then poor people wouldn't be able to be Muslim. So eat all the best things Allah gives you and if you know that keto is best, then eat keto and you will actually be making your God happy by doing what is best for yourself.
@Fatima Alzahra i don't think Prophet ( pbuh) ate so much refined and processed food as we eat today. A lot of muslims complain that they gain weight during Ramadan . So nothing wrong if you listen to a doctor and adjust your diet.
My wife is a Muslim, I was a Catholic before and now I am converted or back to Islam. It is my first Ramadan and 6 days of fasting. Good thing I work at night so I can sleep all day long during fasting. Happy Ramadan 2023.

@Norcarr Lane who thinks that bro?if anyone thinks that its 1400yr old doesn't use common sense anyway we muslims and all abrahamic religions do fasting and yet i have never heard anyone say fasting was invented by us
@Norcarr Lane don't know what
@Eraf Mohammodiy My friend, pls don’t spread misinformation. Judaism and Christianity came before Islam.
@Norcarr Lane not for one month like muslims do.
@Eraf Mohammodiy The Church has always taught that Jesus is God. The claim that the belief in Jesus’s divinity is an invention is a myth. You can read the letters of the early church fathers if you’d like. Two of the early church fathers, St. Ignatius and St. Polycarp mentioned in their letters that Jesus is God. They were bishops from the first century and it’s very possible that they knew John the Apostle, the one who’s mentioned in the book of Revelation. If Christianity is corrupted, then Jesus is a liar because He said “the gates of hell shall not prevail against my church” (Matthew 16:18-19).
Who else just got this popped up on their recommendation? If you're fasting while reading this. may Allah keep you steadfast& enhance the reward of your fast! AMEEN love from an american bengali 🇧🇩‼

Thanks for this valuable information. I am 62 and have been fasting since I was a child. I look forward to this blessed month not just for the health benefits but also for the rewards and the blessings it brings. My doctor is always amazed how my regular check up after Ramadan comes out; he recommends to keep fasting and as a matter of fact we do fast every Monday and Thursday.
As the full moon rises in the night sky, many people across the world observe it with awe and wonder. For centuries, people have been fascinated by the power and energy of the full moon, and some even believe that fasting during this time can have spiritual and physical benefits. Fasting during the full moon has been practiced by different cultures for centuries, with some viewing it as a way to cleanse the body and mind. It is said that the gravitational pull of the full moon has a significant impact on the tides of the oceans, and also on the fluids within the human body, including blood and lymphatic fluid. Fasting during the full moon is believed to help the body to eliminate toxins and unwanted substances more effectively. In some traditions, fasting during the full moon is done for three days, and this is believed to be the ideal duration for the practice. During this time, it is recommended to consume only water and herbal teas, and to avoid solid food. Some people may also choose to meditate or spend time in quiet contemplation during this time, to further enhance the benefits of the fast. Mountains are often considered to be places of spiritual significance, and fasting during the full moon while in the mountains can be particularly powerful. The natural beauty of the mountain landscape, combined with the energy of the full moon, can create a profound sense of connection to the universe and to one's own inner self. While fasting during the full moon is not for everyone, those who choose to embark on this practice may find that it offers a sense of renewal and rejuvenation. Whether done in the mountains or elsewhere, fasting during the full moon can be a way to honor the natural cycles of the universe and to deepen one's connection to the world around us.

Thank you for making this video. I have been fasting since few years in Ramadan and indeed what Allah has ordered is for our own benefit.
Ramadan Mubarak! I am a Muslim convert and love Ramadan. I feel great physically, mentally and spiritually. I thank Allah for this Holy Month. Thanks Dr. Berg!❤
We Muslims not fasting from food and water only, we also fasting from bad habits like smoking, backbiting, talking shit, abusing others, fighting, annoying others, talking bad words .... etc we are prohibited during Ramadan doing any bad habits that cause harm for your body or to others .... we do that for the sake of Allah and obey him to grant us the eternal life in paradise . Ramadan is a month of self discipline physically and spiritually .
Well said my brother.
amen..
Selamün Aleyküm. Just wanted to let you know that "talking sh*t" is actually an obscenity. It's bad to say.
I thought smoking was haram anyway, and many of those other things are discouraged. Is it really common knowledge for those other things to be refrained from more so during Ramadan? Please comment
@@DavidsonLoops it is haram but a lot of people don’t seem to care which is destructive and dangerous. But ramadan is the month to eliminate and quit these bad sins forever
I’m in keto diet for a month and now I’m going to do fasting in Ramadan, too.Ramadan is a holy month of fasting, spiritual reflection and full of benefit💐🙏
Ramadan is the month of miracles that science cannot explain (I speak about nutrition of course). ramadan mubarak!
Dear sister, I suggest you change your profile picture to win Allah approval. My respect.

My love goes out to all the Christians and Muslims alike. There has been a war on religion in the past few decades...constantly mocking religions on mainstream media/tv/news. Never give up your faith and the disciplines that go with it.

Love your videos, and the way you explain everything clearly. ❤ One thing though, fasting in Ramadan begins pre-dawn which is approx 1.5 hours before sunrise, and finishes at sunset.
As a Muslim from Pakistan, thanks for this video, really appreciate it! ❤️

Muslim, Muslim, Muslim. Fasting is not Muslim. It is started by Adam.

I’m not Muslim, we are Christians, but I agree with fasting! The practice was spoken of in our Bible and it’s life giving and healing. I became so so close spiritually with the Lord when I did this practice! Even in pregnancy some fasting in my life has helped! Prayers for our world! You’re a great Doctor (you’re wife is precious too) and we truly appreciate all the information you give to so many! God bless you all and keep you safe and healthy!
May the Good Lord help American recover soon.

i hope you listen to quran
Sasanian Soldier you misunderstood everything, you better shut up ok, and don't talk about our religion like that again : all those things you mentioned is back to The beginning of the Islamic call when there was war between muslins and the infidels who were criminals and abused Muslims and islam had to deal with them and treat them the same with principle of eye for the eye, the tooth for the tooth, and the body are darker "a life for a life " and if you read in Quran as you claims you will know that allah forbidden to kill children, women and the elderly I'm sure you don't know anything about us and our religion so keep you fuckin mouth close and leave us alone .. don't try to discredit us because you will lose anyway.
@@sasaniansoldier7118 You know what allah also said, he said that those who deserve to be shown the right path he well show them, So what you are doing well only fool those who deserve to be fooled and well guide those who deserve to go to heaven to read quran themselves.
I like how this video was recommended to me during Ramadan.
Thanks so much, Dr. Berg for this amazing presentation, I am fasting during Ramadan, and as you said in your other video it cleared my acne dramatically. I'm seeing incredible results, I did not know this until I watched your video. I'm a super fan !! Cheers!!
As Muslims, we just hear and obey and then years later we learn the benefits of everything we do. So fortunate to be Muslim. And so fortunate that Ramadaan is compulsory and not optional or most of us wouldn't be fasting
Hamdoullah
Allah the Almighty , All Knowing . He knows what is good for us and ths benefits we receive from it . 🤲🕌🤲Alhumdulilla
Allah hasn't told us anything....all religions including Islam are just man made ideologies

Great video thank you for explaining this important benefits of Ramadan👏
A lot of ignorant people think fasting damages your body when it’s in fact the opposite. My mother blood pressure would go down during Ramadan - so glad you have made this video 👍thank you
Imagine how much more her health would improve if she could drink water during ramadan

@@melkan1999 there is no verse in the Quran that tells women to cover every inch of their body, women are only told to dress modestly. And I really doubt the legitimacy of any hadith suggesting that Muhammad's wife wore a burqa when it is not mentioned in the Quran.
