This wasn't even 10% of the performance he will deliver in Malmö. It stated on the big screen behind him as well: for the full performance, watch May 9th. Having said that, I too expected a bit more. But it's Joost we're talking about. 😉 Ever since he got announced to be the Dutch entry, he's thrown us several curveballs. So you have to see this performance as a sort of "warming up".
I agree with you here, that is our impression as well. Joost know's what works and not, and I believe what he does now is intentional. Looking forward to what he will do in his final show! Hopes are still high

I think he'll adapt the show a little more. Actually it's like a song performed together with the crowd (as in the video of the live performance in Tilburg) that would be totally awesome, but he won't rely too much on the crowd at the evening of the contest. I'm pretty sure he'll be at best at the finals.

I joined the Eurovision Party in Amsterdam some years ago. No act did what they did at the official performance at the contest. It’s a party so a lot of interaction with the public. Just as you saw now with Joost. The performance at the stage in Malmö will be different.

This is gonna be the party song of the contest and he is a salesman (a bit too much for my liking)…all and all, if I was a Finland I would be worried, but it does not seem magic to me, it does not feel like a winner…regarding the excitement of the crowds, I think it helped that this was the first pre-party he attended, so people were more exited and curious towards him than towards other contenders that they have seen many times in the past weeks…I’m feeling like taking a break from pre-parties myself before the actual event, to be able to enjoy the final executions with a fresher eye.
Agreed! I think Joost and Estonia both will bring the party vibes hard this year, and I would be nervous if I was Finland too... I see your point regarding the pre-parties. At the same time, it seems like the pre-parties has come to stay, and is a new addition to the event in itself, so I'm gonna stay for now and see hoe that affects the finals this year. If it diminishes the experience or enhance it, time will tell, but fully respect and understand where you are coming from! See you in the semis!

Well... kinda dissapointing to be honest. I was hyped to hear him go at it but he is just a bundle of energy... I indeed hope he ups his game otherwise I dont see it going well for him.
We agree with you.. But we still have hope that he will up his show for the finals, or we agree with you. If this is all he can deliver he might not even make it to the final :/ But we still have high hopes!
@@esc.norway I know right... but they will probably qualify anyways even if they perform horible (Because of the current mentality of eurovision). I feel bad if they would qualify like this and countries like Latvia or Czechia, which are underrated as hell, still need to pack up and go home.
