Shame it's an April fool. This is my biggest gripe about battery powered tools. All they need to do is design keys into the casework to make sure that 18V cannot be used in a 12V tool for example and specify size and location of where the battery vent port is and we're good.

Could you please do an analysis and should you agree could you up the volume? As soon as I start an eFIXX video up goes the volume. Then I go to watch something else (yes, really, there are other videos out there) I forget to turn down and my speakers blare out until I can get to the volume control.

Without listing my entire 100 plus subs (it is great being retired!), here are the main ones: Everything Electric Show, Cutting Edge Engineering, RSymons RSEV, Out of Spec Motoring, Munro Live, Veritasium, Fully Charged Show, Just Have a Think, James Shack, Colin Furze. I think all of these have more volume than your channel. Please bear in mind that I play my sound from my PC via a stereo amplifier and hifi quality speakers. I am a bit of an audiophile in this regard, so most listeners on headphones or with economic speakers probably won't suffer in the same way.

Making the Ryobi post batteries standard would be just the way to really upset everyone. Make us all feel like skid marks. And I like my Ryobi set.

@@efixx all the way up to using Ryobi as a standard, it sounded like what should be on the books. There is no single brand that makes the best of every tool. Standardising a 18v, 36(40)v and ~90v battery and charging system would be to everyone's benefit. Something similar to the USB C communication protocols to allow for fancier charging voltages/currents would allow for flexibility. All decent batteries have charge controllers integrated in the battery, so there really doesn't need to be any objections. When you started talking about cables power connectors, it was like a tradesman's wet dream. (Sorry) Obviously it would be an irritation during the change over. But many brands are introducing a change over as higher voltage platforms are being introduced. I have resisted personally upgrade to Makita 40v system purely for the hassle of the change over, even though there is a noticeable improvement in performance across the range. I did get my employer to start making the change though, one work crew at a time.

parkside x-team 20v have a lovely little chip in them to protect 'you'. if you over discharge one somehow then it will no longer send its secret password to the charger. I've tried everything to reset this and found no way to do it after a lot searching, cant even get a chip datasheet, self expiring batteries, best april fool if it wasnt real

I was fooled till I saw the comments because when I heard the part where you said Ryobi batteries were gonna be the standard I thought why those batteries. They are unusually shaped and will make all non Ryobi power tools already on the market unnecessarily long and I went to the comments section just to see other people's views only to see comments about April Fools. Even though I am not christian I was not expecting any April Fools in fact I forgot about it I was expecting Easter (I am pretty sire April Fools is not christian but Easter is)
