On today's podcast, Ashley Thompson and Dan Novak host the show while Ashley tells listeners what they will hear.
First, Dan reports about the NCAA Basketball Tournaments, collectively known as "March madness." Mathematicians and artificial intelligence are all being employed to make predictions about the outcomes of the games.
Then, Caty Weaver and Mario Ritter, Jr. report on the "Lithium Triangle" in South America. Native communities live in the remote places where lithium is mined from salt flats in Argentina and Chile. The native groups are in conflict with industrial interests which aim to mine the valuable element. Lithium is important for batteries that store electricity for cars, electronics and power plants. In Chile, lithium has been mined since the 1980s. But the country's president has said he wants tighter controls. In Argentina, natives object to mining, but the local and national governments want to develop the resource.
After that, Ashley has a promotional message for Let's Learn English with Anna.
Next, Jill Robbins reviews two messages about life dreams from listeners. The two, a middle-aged man and woman, share their thoughts about the dreams they had in their youth and how they see life now. Both their dreams changed over time. Jill provides suggestions for improving their English language expressiveness.
Finally, Ashley and Jill have an extended discussion about how she got the idea to ask listeners about their dreams. Then, Ashley and Jill note the importance of mothers.
Dan and Ashley then sign off.
