I find it difficult to believe that a group of megalodons still exist, because of the following. The creatures they preyed upon went extinct, they were out competed by other species. Large creatures have a difficulty if prey becomes scarce
I support your opinion but they could still just kill and eat Orca whales
They came from the great white so it is possible that they can come back and stay in hiding for years upon years. Plus we never really know if all of them went extinct. Also not trying to be rude but they did not lose all there prey, that went " Extinct" bc of the great whites started to prey on them ~ NOT TRYING TO BE RUDE-MEAN!!~
@@Yn-td5sf Orcas used to prey on the i think
I think some the pic when it tosses under boats that big one is just a whale 🐳
@@nancyzaborowski1978 noooo. Orca whales prey on REGULAR sharks. Not a damn megalodon, whole difff thing hun… thats a big shark we’re talking about, and im not even trying to sound like orcas are small… but a megalodon gets exaggerated alot. These sharks can get massive. It takes some bit of research but given enough time to actually study and LOOK , youll know that 1 simple search aint gonna tell u everything. These freaking sharks were top of the chain! I mean we’re talking about a shark that literally could swallow a building WHOLE! Noooo thanks

It was probably either an orca or a male basking shark. Basking sharks are often confused for megs because of how big they are, and they could've had very similar colours.

My fav shark
The vid was 12 seconds ago when I joined
Between the years of 1974 and 1976 I crossed a river twice a day over a local bridge to go to school and back home and learned the channels by looking at the river during low tides and high tides and those in between. I learned where things were suppose to be and where they weren't. One day while going home crossing the river I noticed something in the middle of the channel that shouldn't be there. Then, I realized that it was a dorsal fin of a shark. the strange thing was that it was sticking out of the water at least four feet high, and I couldn't see it's back side as the water around here is very murky. I was on a school bus and my brother just happen to be sitting behind me and I pointed it out to him, and we both just stared at it as we went by it. Nothing was faked there, nor is this a tall tale. By the way , megalodon shark teeth are commonly found in these local waters.
Cap
fax@@betsieswartz
YOU LITERALLY CALLED IT A TALL TALE
Nice story, but you most likely saw something more like a tree branch, or if it was a shark than the "4 feet tall fin" is almost certainly a miscalculation. After all, if it was something as big as a megalodon, more people would have noticed.

The blue whale exists so why not this big 🦈 I mean crocodile's exist they survived so why not the megladon
You may want to check out how many crocs actually went extinct including the largest ones...It is not only a matter of size either.
The meg could adapt fast enough to the cooling climate and whales where migrating to colder areas so it lost its main food source
During the Oligocene period, the Earth’s ocean started to cool down. Gradually, mid-latitude temperature saw a decrease of roughly 15 degrees Celsius or 27 degrees Fahrenheit due to it being a coastal shark that lived in mainly warmer water's it probably couldn't adapt fast enough to the cooling global climate also simply a lack of food because up until the end of the Pliocene period, there was an upwelling of water from the sea floor that added nutrients to tropic waters. This upwelling stopped when the ocean floor expanded and caused the Gulf Stream, which brought the nutrients, to slow. Without this upwelling, the amount and types of organisms that could be supported drastically decreased and the Megalodon may have starved to extinction.

But here is my little assumption, whenever it comes to bug sharks we take granted that there was megladon , can it just be another king creatures 💀
Megalodon died out and this video was made for ratings thats all. Talk to Marine biologists and paleontologists they would say this video is dog shit because all the megalodon teeth we have are fossilized and no one has fresh unfozzlized teeth of megalodon show megalodon was a prehistoric shark that died out.
Sharks are bugs??
@@Wildchild-1346 no their not.
Megalodon are extinct this video is not fact. Megalodon is extinct and if they were alive then I would see them hunting whales where I live so this video was made for hype, fear mungering and ratings. I whale watch for years and no megalodon attacked because they are gone..
@@Wildchild-1346 I meant bug
It's amazing and awesome
Are grate wites magldans.
I mean, blue whales exist, so why not?
Pretty sure blue whales are surface dwellers and so are megs, if so, why is there so little evidence of a bluewhale getting killed by a meg, why is it only smallers shark like the great white or others are seen feasting on the whales
No food
u should look for videos why the meg isn't alive no more, it's better to look at a story from multiple sides.
They went extinct because it gotten to cold and they couldn't adapt fast enough
Numerous reasons
The baby meg sighting, the jut on the flaps isn't confirmed as there's barely any fossil evidence supporting the idea, could just be another regular adult great whites or edited
It is just CGI from the Discovery Channel movie/docufiction Megalodon: The New Evidence.
