@@lauriebott3759We go clean out the old stuffies at places like Goodwill. If you ask the employees, most of the time they’ll fill up bags for $1. They mostly just want to get rid of them.

I had a sweet dog, Bailey who went blind when he got older. I found it amazing how well he adjusted even though he went blind later in life. He was such a sweet boy. Recently, I lost Sierra, my profile picture. She would have been 15 this year. My heart is broken once again. I have loved and lost three shelter dogs over the years. I'm so lucky to be loved by three dogs from the shelter but when they leave me, it's beyond heartbreaking. Thank God for their love and all the joy each brought. I've been blessed to have such great furbabies.

Who else feels like Izzie is pulling a fast one? Doddering up to her neighbour's house like she needs the dog equivalent of a Zimmer frame. Then making her great escape with a new toy.
It reminds me of when I used to work in a DWP office, and Disability Benefit Claimants used to attend their appointments, walking through the door in perceived difficulty with a severe limp, or breathlessness, or whatever. And as soon as they were done, they'd walk out, after receiving their benefit cheque, and having had a MIRACULOUS recovery, seemingly with no more physical difficulties whatsoever. Amazing what an injection of cash can do to perk you up!

Thank God for people like this woman. Izzy a sweet girl who deserves a toy everyday. I just lost my baby girl, Sierra. Sierra is my profile picture. I've had her for 14 years s, almost 15. She brought me so much joy, laughter, fun, companionship, smiles, good time and love. She will forever be my baby girl. I looked online for a puppy to adopt from the shelter and the price shocked me. The local shelter is asking for $395.00 for a 3 month pup. I just can't afford that. I would give any pup all my attention and love but I can't afford that. So many dogs need homes. I hope to find a dog I can love and care for no matter the age.

@@charlottegunning1548 it's pretty common to pay a lot to adopt a puppy. Adult dogs not so much since they are more difficult to home. The thinking is that they know the new "owners" are serious about having the new addition to their home. There are also fees for spade/neutering that the shelter may be trying to collect on.
@@charlottegunning1548 I live in Greenville, SC. It's the Greenville Humane Society in Greenville, SC. I couldn't believe it myself. A puppy 3 months and younger will cost you anywhere from $395 and up depending on the breed. They did knock the price down to $375 a day or two ago I saw. That's still outrageous. I don't understand how any shelter can charge that much. I've always got my pups from there and the most I've ever paid was $75.
I’ve adopted retired greyhounds for 23 years now and still get so excited to see then run full tilt. It’s only 1-2 times a week and they sleep at least 18 hours a day but when they turn it in on, it’s warp speed zoomies!
I hear ya on the zooming My gray would sleep all day till I got home from work, the get out of the way. She hated baths, but loved her kiddie pool.

the senior dog seems happy, well socialised and healthy regardless. considering "caring for" also means to feed, provide shelter, medical care and also interacting with your dog... we don't even know if they keep the toys inside because the dog keeps losing them outside or if her toys are just somewhere the neighbour cant see them. the neighbour providing toys every now and again is just being kind.
That last one broke my heart I wanna buy her a box of toys. Look how happy she was was with one wee stuffed hedgehog so sad 😔
How do we know the dog gets on toys. Or maybe she's one of these dogs that eats her toys and end up on the operation table having them removed. My sister in law has a dog like that. I'd be so mad. Don't just assume. Your kind act could hurt or kill that dog. She looked healthy and happy to me. Well cared for.

@Lorraine Fryer No, really, I've seen it 1st hand. There are dogs that chew and actually eat their toys, socks, etc. It can cause all kinds of trouble. My sister in law has to be so careful because her dog does this. He almost died. He needed an emergency operation. Thank god he was fine. But it was an awful time for her family, the dog, and their bank account. The vet told her not to give him certain toys and always watch him with the ones he can have.

Man the last one hit hard I had a 14 year old cocker spaniel who was put to sleep. He was such a sweet, bundle of love and was there for me always. I'd bloody trade my lifespan because dogs leave too soon.

I'm usually not a big commenter but I can't believe the way that they treat those kids, no way they don't get toys or have something fun to do..... I love that we get a chance to hang out and just love each other the way you don't seem to realize. I think it's great that these kids are young and whatnot but don't be a damn square about it.
