Yah that was one of the few issues i had with the game. If i played the game the night before it might take an extra second to confirm something..and sometimes id look away for a second to do something like take a sip of a drink and look back less than a second later to have the dialog time already be half over. I reloaded checkpoints a few times because of that.

I was a little sad that the boxing fight had no conclusion we could see. I only placed a bet on Yale because I thought I could use the winnings to help Sonia with her gym, but there was no true conclusion so I felt bad for illegally gambling without a reason.

Mine crashed SIX TIMES over my playthrough. Pause the game? Crash. Go to the switch home menu? Crash. Loading a cutscene? -Trying to play the game?- Yikes. The game was fun, other than having to replay parts from game crashes! rip blacksad on switch

I played it on switch.just finished it. In the lab it was way too dark. The lighting sucks and some graphics are very pixelated. Its still a great game. Its still playable

Honestly pretty disappointing, considering the amount of choices you make?! There's references to your dead lover, Sonia, all the suspicion in the wrong directions, all the stuff around the bets... This could've had a dozen drastically different endings... Feels lackluster, expecially considering the GN and the rich lore.

*Trivia Question:* Can someone tell me what the middle names of these characters are? Elaine J. Dunn Sonia G. Dunn Mary D. Purnell At 20:55 and 21:09, you can see the initials, but not the full middle name. You also read "Joseph R. Dunn". That one I know. The R stands for Richard, which you can see in his report, in the diner scene with Smirnov. But I don't know the rest.

In the first volume, Smirnov explains to Blacksad that higher ups from the top have called off his investigation of murdered actress. His hands are tied, so he begs Blacksad to get the bastard and he will make sure he will come clean. In here, Sonia just shot the man, who was about to be arrested. Smirnov is just doing his job.

Game is unplayable. Crashes everywhere. Crashed on me at the end. I restarted the game and my save file was gone. Shame because the characters and story are awesome, but the game crashes and glitched like it's allowed.

I repeated half the game 4 times just to see if it was possible to fulfill the promise you make to Smirnov by calling him before going to Mary's apartment, but no... this game is too linear, how disappointing. Even so, it has many good things, and the story is not bad at all, although at certain moments it feels as if they are pushing you forward without stopping to put you into action (doing ellipsis, precisely with an ellipsis they prevent you from calling Smirnov before go see Mary), and at a certain point the plot seems to get more tangled than necessary to the point of being almost a little ridiculous, just a bit. And well, in the end I decided to let Mary be killed... because if you tell her to quit her job at the GYM she does it but they hire another employee and even though the new one is an NPC we never even know the name of, you can find a photo that she had showing that she is the mother of two daughters. Maybe she was a single mother and the girls are orphaned now, Mary had no one... besides her nephew boxer. But something that really annoyed me about this video game is that it leaves a pretty fat loose end: the illegal bookmaker wolf, O'Lary, he gets his way completely: you may discover that he has been blackmailing and bribing people for years, It suggests that he has dealings with the Chicago mob and you see at least one person murdered in front of you (but it could easily be two) and it is clear that he has murdered others before. That guy is much worse than Thorpe, Sonia's uncle, I really would have wanted to kill him or send him to prison. Another thing that bothered me a lot is that the game does not let you save the life of a girl and her father, having to watch them die burned alive.

Hellboy is more into horror and mythology while Blacksad is more of a crime drama and noir. Blacksad is a hard boiled detective story using animals to highlight the nature of the stereotypes of noir character tropes.

Mine crashed SIX TIMES over my playthrough. Pause the game? Crash. Go to the switch home menu? Crash. Loading a cutscene? -Trying to play the game?- Yikes. The game was fun, other than having to replay parts from game crashes! rip blacksad on switch
I played it on switch.just finished it. In the lab it was way too dark. The lighting sucks and some graphics are very pixelated. Its still a great game. Its still playable

Honestly pretty disappointing, considering the amount of choices you make?! There's references to your dead lover, Sonia, all the suspicion in the wrong directions, all the stuff around the bets... This could've had a dozen drastically different endings... Feels lackluster, expecially considering the GN and the rich lore.

Sonia annoyed me my entire playthrough so, though it wasn't my intention, I'm glad she killed herself in my version. Plus, Mary lived which made it even better.
I hope they make a sequel where blacksad hooks up with Sonya!!!!!!!!

I finished the game for the first time today. Not too sure about the ending I got. Sonia goes to jail, Mary lives. Did I made the right choices??? I'm not 100% sure. It was my FIRST ever time playing the game.
It's a noir game so there's hardly a black and white choices.
I was defeated by QTE. Punching my face in scene, and I REALLY do not think that one starts sniffing (for clues), while a trained boxer punches oneself in the face repeatedly... 🤕 Uninstalled, made me feel old & unwelcome.
I know it's unrelated but it's worth a shot, I can't seem to figure out how to get the 400 blows trophy, since you seem to have enough knowledge on the game perhaps you could point me in the right direction? I tried searching everywhere but found no threads regarding this trophy
You only need to be beaten 5 or 6 times by the buffalo by repeting the sames answers.

There 6 endings depending if Mary die or live, Sonia suicide or getting arrested, and 3 fakes endings that are reject the case, not answering to Mary and let Thorne get away with it.

*Trivia Question:* Can someone tell me what the middle names of these characters are? Elaine J. Dunn Sonia G. Dunn Mary D. Purnell At 20:55 and 21:09, you can see the initials, but not the full middle name. You also read "Joseph R. Dunn". That one I know. The R stands for Richard, which you can see in his report, in the diner scene with Smirnov. But I don't know the rest.

I would actually like this game a lot more if it didn't have so many damn bugs. I'm actually a fan of the Blacksad graphic novels, but this game doesn't do them justice.

I still domt understand why Sonia was incarcerated, Blacksad get away with a lot of murderers in graphic novels yet he's as free as a bird without any consequences
A choice game requires consequences to make us feel responsible and this is between 1 and 2 volume.
In the first volume, Smirnov explains to Blacksad that higher ups from the top have called off his investigation of murdered actress. His hands are tied, so he begs Blacksad to get the bastard and he will make sure he will come clean. In here, Sonia just shot the man, who was about to be arrested. Smirnov is just doing his job.

@@manugames92 Devs show some wierd logic...I felt bad about not keeping Mary's secret, but then turns out it'll cause a partial happy ending...but it's kinda understandable since Blacksad is all about navigating through an endless labyrinth of grey morals.
@@broman191 I've told Sonia abot Mary and Dann but Mary died anyway. I think it depends on something else. Remember the phrase Blacksad told her in Sam's Dinner? Something like stay away from the club or not. I think this is the trigger.

Game is unplayable. Crashes everywhere. Crashed on me at the end. I restarted the game and my save file was gone. Shame because the characters and story are awesome, but the game crashes and glitched like it's allowed.
This exact thing happened to me last Saturday too. I spent a whole day playing it. Man, I was pissed.

It should've definitely not. The developers are working on an update, but they don't say when they are releasing it. It is a shame really, because I really like it.
I repeated half the game 4 times just to see if it was possible to fulfill the promise you make to Smirnov by calling him before going to Mary's apartment, but no... this game is too linear, how disappointing. Even so, it has many good things, and the story is not bad at all, although at certain moments it feels as if they are pushing you forward without stopping to put you into action (doing ellipsis, precisely with an ellipsis they prevent you from calling Smirnov before go see Mary), and at a certain point the plot seems to get more tangled than necessary to the point of being almost a little ridiculous, just a bit. And well, in the end I decided to let Mary be killed... because if you tell her to quit her job at the GYM she does it but they hire another employee and even though the new one is an NPC we never even know the name of, you can find a photo that she had showing that she is the mother of two daughters. Maybe she was a single mother and the girls are orphaned now, Mary had no one... besides her nephew boxer. But something that really annoyed me about this video game is that it leaves a pretty fat loose end: the illegal bookmaker wolf, O'Lary, he gets his way completely: you may discover that he has been blackmailing and bribing people for years, It suggests that he has dealings with the Chicago mob and you see at least one person murdered in front of you (but it could easily be two) and it is clear that he has murdered others before. That guy is much worse than Thorpe, Sonia's uncle, I really would have wanted to kill him or send him to prison. Another thing that bothered me a lot is that the game does not let you save the life of a girl and her father, having to watch them die burned alive.
