The Rubik's mirror blocks destroys the purpose of a mirror blocks, basically a bad turning 3x3, the cool one is that you can solve it to color or shape. Nice video!
So apparently the triamid can be scrambled by removing and replace outer "layers" and I didn't do it right! I guess there's always next time :) And thanks for all the positive comments on how much you enjoy seeing my daughter and I make videos together. We'll try to make more of these in the future!

Its warming to watch your videos, I hope the bond with your daughter stays like that forever. You are the envy of many parents. Also it interests me when non-wca puzzles are presented. The centers wore in the wrong orientation
The directional shine on the mirror block really highlights how the centers can be rotated out of alignment with the edge and corner peices surrounding them.

You were "turning" the triamid in the wrong way, you're supposed to pull off sections like the pyraminx turns and rotate them, it's very unclear on the packaging how you're supposed to use it

Besides the Triamid being the unique one (Which as you likely seen I discussed in a reply on your pinned comment), it's kind of funny just how they ended up being "opposite" of the original idea of the mirror blocks. Mirror Blocks are of course obscuring the clarity of the solution by making you look at size rather than color. But the non-mirror-mirror-blocks (lol) here take out that aspect completely. Though does look pretty neat scrambled. On the other hand, the Orbit being a 2x2 and how you look at the "sides" differently has a way of obscuring things that are maybe more impactful than mirror block 2x2s do (Not enough pieces to throw one off for long) despite having colors because it plays with one's usual sense of sides.

I was not subscribed before (now I am), but I have seen some videos of you. It is so nice to that a father and his daughter have a similar interest. I'm 29 and totally no speedcubed, but a cuber nonetheless. I learned to solve the 3x3 by using the beginners method. the 2x2 I can also do, but right now I'm kinda still learning the 4x4... XD When I was a kind I never was in to cubing that much, but the 3x3 kinda saved me about a year ago and helped me through a difficult moment.
The pyraminx thing still confuses me🤔

The Orbit's color scheme is that way because Red Green and Blue are the colors used for the XYZ coordinate system in 3D, including rotation and if you look, you can see the RGB rotation axis on it from one side

Mirror blocks: only shapeshift. Rubik’s blocks: Color and shapeshift.
The color doesn't make it harder it makes it easier because it makes the pieces easier to tell apart

I find these Rubik's non cubic puzzles to be fascinating. I've been wanting the tryamid for a while, because Rubik's actually rereleased it after discontinuing it I think some time before I was born, and I know they did the same for the Rubik's Tower (2x2x4). I'm holding out for a rerelease of the Rubik's UFO personally. And I know in the United States, the Orbit is a Barnes and Noble exclusive, which I find odd

Thanks for the video. I was going to get the triamid to complete the matchbox 1990 collection but I dont think I will bother now...some report it falls apart when trying it as a scramble and its too simple a jigsaw...its only £8 used so maybe Have you tried Rubiks illusion and rubiks magic stategy board games...simple to learn but fun. Rubiks tangle and rubiks XV may interest you but they are tough. Rubiks Dice looks good and Ive ordered one

The real way to solve the trimamid is to take it apart in chunks and put them back together. It is very challenging. I made the same mistake too when I got it but The Cubing Historian has a video on it called, "Old Rubik's Puzzles". He has two parts to this video so I don't know if the trimmed is in part 1 or 2
