In this video I give a full in depth tour of a 2006 Hummer H1 Alpha Passenger Wagon. I take viewers on a close look through the interior and exterior of this vehicle while showing details, over viewing of features, and noting unique styling cues to the vehicle itself. I also show the engine and the details of it, start it up and see how it sounds under acceleration. A thorough tour/review of this H1 designed to give others a greater overall appreciation of the vehicle.
My dad had an '06 H1 alpha soft top. It was fun to drive with the performance chip but the truck was literally in the shop 50% of the year. plus 4k to replace tires and 450 for an oil change we sold it in '11..
The big hump in the middle between driver and passenger seat is the elevated transmission for better ground clearance. Perfect for the battlefield in any type of terrain.
I see a lot of remarks about this H1 being people’s dream car. I own a 98 H1 had it for around 15 years it’s been a good vehicle gets a lot of looks but only gets 12mpg in diesel. Will go literally anyplace. Great off road vehicle not so great on road. I’ve hit a few garbage cans and drive thru poles with the push guard. No damage had 3 people hit it did lots of damage to their cars nothing to the H1. When it breaks it’s expensive to fix. Prob woulda sold it a long time ago but my kids love it. And now they don’t make them anymore so they are going up in value.

That's actually cool as hell. I didn't know much about the newer H1 series. Drove these in the Army and always wondered how one would be with a touch of refinement and a more modern diesel. Now I know.

Best detailed review of the Hummer on youtube I've seen so far. (thumbs up) Can't afford it, but I gotta say that when the US army wanted to replace the jeep, a 'truck' was produced instead. The engine sounded just like the Hino turbo-diesels in my 8 & 12 liter trailer and tractor fleet. The lower A arms and steel-beam chassis look indestructible even for rough terrain. This is a road-legal monster.

I have one also, the 2003 model, but what can't use it pretty much a lot, has 500k KM the problem is when you need to fix it, its very hard to find some replacement parts

AWESOME! Definitely the best Hummer around! The TV's I find advanced for 2006! What else do I like about this Hummer? Features, tons of space and it has diesel engine! I never knew those Hummers were available with diesel engines. That's awesome!

This is unbelievably AWESOME! The guys in the military are lucky to be driving these things! Ya this one is a little bit more comfortable but I think if you just put a .50 cal automatic on the back and put camo paint on it it'd look just like a military-issue Humvee

So awesome, the alpha with a duramax is the only way to go. The 6.5 is really slow and feels like a tank, you put a programmer on that alpha and it's a whole different beast!! Plus the mileage is alot better, and you can tow your boat or toy hauler 75-80 up hill. Do that in a land rover or Ferrari lol!!!

the only other thing id feel safer driving in would be the Canadian made Conquest Knight, essentially a 20 ton armored tank they call a car lol, but hummer knew how to make a big vehicle that had both intimidation on the road and comedy in the wallet
Kevon Boss No probably not, the Alpha’s got the 6.6 Duramax diesel from GM HD trucks. If you delete the emissions stuff and tune it it would probably get about 18 in town, 22-25 highway. That’s about what the trucks get.

This H1 is good for an excursion in the mountain areas or in the desert. It make you feel like a boss when you cruise through the road. But 300 HP are a few for a beast like this, so I upgraded it in Forza 4, and it runs like a bull!
