Welcome to this Injustice rant or Injustice breakdown video where we are going into Why Injustice Superman Should NEVER Be Redeemed!! We know that Superman is normally a symbol of hope and peace but in the Injustice Gods Among Us and also the Injustice 2 storylines he slowly but surely becomes a tyrant! But is he too far gone? @terron7840 Batman won't kill him because of his code. Under the red hood explains this perfectly, once you cross that line, there's no going back. Bruce knows that. Hence why Injustice is what it is, once that line is crossed, game over. you're done. You can't go back. Joker won't kill Batman because life without Batman is simply not funny. In the comics when batman has died, Joker has actually turned sane and left crime behind, reintergrating into society as a normal person. Their relationship is between them and them alone. Neither truly wants to be without the other. A lot of comics and adaptations have explored this. Killing Joke is probably the most famous, but Dark Knight returns is a great one too (that tunnel of love scene) as well as Batman Beyond return of the Joker (also why Joker doesn't really care about Bruce's identity).

Injustice Timeline has a five year timeskip Damien and Billy are the same age, if he is Nightwing then Billy is at least 18 by this point. If Uncle Sam can send you off to die so can Superman.
Legally speaking Billy is an Adult if that's the actual age he was in the injustice game, but he's still a teenager which Iw an adolescent but that doesn't still excuse Superman from killing him in cold blood
it's also why Superman stops him turning back into Billy. He freezes his mouth before killing him. A small touch I think some people gloss over.

I just realized something... How old is Injustice Billy? There's a 5 year gap between Joker destroying metropolis, and the game. Shazam is shown to have been active before the nuke in the tie in comic. Let's say he's 13-15 by the time the nuke happens, and 18-20 by the time he dies. Not only did Superman kill an adult, but he killed someone with the wisdom of Solomon. Or everyone just kinda forgot and yeah
@Puncherjoe1 Thought he was 10 but regardless Superman killed the youngest of them without a real justification, he did it because Shazam opposed him for wanting to destroy his own city and invading other dimensions if I remember correctly. What pisses me off more is that everyone just sits there and let's him do it. Then in Injustice 2's story NOBODY CALLS HIM OUT ON IT!

i’d argue what makes Billy’s death worse is that he killed him for just disagreeing with him, in fact he was surrounded by yes men because no one stopped him, not even the flash stopped him. Even the green lantern calls it a casualty of war which is a way he’d never talk about the death of a former comrade
Also, this is after Billy saved Clark, being the reason Lex missed his shot

Lantern was operating on pure fear, taking the paths of least resistence, and that cowardice lets him watch a 15-year old (at that time) be slaughtered by one of his good friends.

Actually I feel like Superman more so killed Shazam for evoking Lois Lane's name, and trying to tell Supes how she would feel about what he's doing. Saying her name took him back to her death and pissed him off, and gets even more pissed because he probably knows deep down that Shazam is right.
The worst part of killed Shazam, was the fact that just earlier to this, Shazam saved Superman from the Kryptonite weapon of Lex Luthor, making a cruel irony that Superman killed the man/boy who saved his life.
And just how did he save Superman's life by throwing lightning so when Superman grabs his throat why didn't he just zap him and what was the freeze breath about ...he was already powered up.
@@julez4002 Well, during this scene, Billy wasn't transformed in Shazam yet. And when Billy tried to transform, Superman leaves his mouth frozen, to prevent that he could become Shazam, and kills him slowly with his laser vision.

I feel like the Injustice Two writers didn't play or read the comics for Injustice 1 given all of the inaccuracies, they clearly forgot about the five year time skip even though there's a comic that details every year. I did read an Article about NetherRealm being pissed certain characters got killed off in the comics without telling them. GL in I2 was clearly supposed to be Kyle Rayner given him forming a giant robot during his Super but he was killed by Sinestor in the Arc of the comic everyone seems to forget (Year 3). They Also for got how technologically Advanced the earth had gotten in those five short years. Metropolis had flying cars. Clearly they were setting up the Earth from Judge Dredd since that's what the regime was but somehow weren't able to get the rights. All of the Insurgent heroes in I2 were supposed to be the second generation like Wally, Kyle and so on but Tom Taylor was so interested in connecting Injustice with the main DCU that he kept bring in those characters and killing them off leaving nothing for the I2 writers to work with so they had to let Barry and Hal off the hook.

Injustice wonder woman is the true villain of the series in my opinion because she stoked Superman's rage and encouraged him to act like a tyrant. She is just as bad if not worse than Superman because she not only enabled his behavior but, she fueled it too, I absolutely loved the way Harley called her out on this fact in Injustice 2 when she stops Diana from killing cheetah
I liked how Harley in Injustice 2 is constantly trying to prove that she thinks rationally (albeit with goofy mannerisms) and nobody takes her seriously even though she still has good things to say
Which is why I think Superman AND Wonder Woman deserve the most horrific deaths possible.

Batman didn't help matters as instead of trying to help his friend who's teetering on the edge, he decided to be a colossal douchebag. And to make matters worse, he recruits Harley of all people on his side. You know, Joker's accomplice who helped him destroy Metropolis and kill Superman's unborn child. Makes him look like a massive hypocrite.
The way he flew into Lois, thinking she was Doomsday. Fairly certain she would have shattered into pieces before getting 20 feet off the ground.
Even if Superman shouldn't have a redemption, his ending should still have some meaning for his story, rather than just having he be defeated and die in battle against Batman or whoever end up being the new protagonist. Just because a villain is irredemable doesn't mean their ending can't have some depth.
The deaths of Superman and Wonder Woman in this storyline needs to be as horrific as possible.
@@shinystarmiestudios4179 In the case of Superman I think he should follow Denethor from LotR exemple, having a final moment of realization before his death, like he saves the life of main universe Lois before he dies, doing one final action of heroism. As for Wonder Woman I have an idea in mind: If we ever got Injustice 3, I think one the playable characters should be Jon Kent, who already met Injustice Superman in the comics. When they meet, Jon could mention the previous encounter which Injustice Superman could answer "Wait, what? I never met you, kid?" So, after doing some investigation Injustice Superman could end up finding out that, after Jon left his universe in the comic, Injustice Wonder Woman, not wanting Superman to leave her and try to find Jon and Lois, would ask Raven to change memories, making him forget he met Jon. Once Superman finds out, he would be so angry he would killed Diana, with her finally suffering the consequences of her manipulations.

As for Wonder Woman I have an idea in mind: If we ever get a Injustice 3, the protagonist should be Jon Kent, who already met Injustice Superman in the comics. To explain why this meeting was never mention in the game, I think the story should reveal that Wonder Woman, with the help of Zatanna, change Superman's memories, so he wouldn't try to go after Jon and meet the main Lois. Once he discovers what she did, Injustice Superman could be the one who kills Diana, with the crazy amazon finally suffering the consequences of her manipulations.

honestly the shazams death is hurts in the game but in the comics superman crossed the line so long ago its nuts the fact that any of the hero's sided with him period is insane i get it in the beginning helping superman makes sense after everything but down the line it just doesn't make sense for them to do
If you look into it several of them agree with him out of fear while others simply lost those close to them and have come to agree with him because they are lost in their grief and what not
I agree with you. However: there is a big difference between eliminating the Joker, which should have been done long ago, who could clearly never be redeemed. Luther was at least a fight, I think Batson was the true moral event horizon. He didn’t flatten the cities, which would have also been a line.

10:35 What you describe was the animated film version. In the comic, the scene is bit similar, although Jonathan doesn't die bc he took the super pill. However, just the fact he saw his father being hit by the arrow was enough to trigger Superman and make him kill Ollie. By the way, Green Arrow death in the comic wasn't just a simple heat vision on the face. Superman beat him to death, merciless punching Ollie while Martha and Jonathan tried in vain to make her son stop. When he finally did, Clark proceed to just blame Batman, and go on about he won't stop until "ruin his perfect world" which just shows how unstable and disconect from reality Injustice Superman truly is.
Also, the Jor-El AI was there and he apologized for Ma and Pa for sending Clark to earth.
I honestly prefer how they did it I n the movie, because in the comic, it was such an insane overreaction relatively early into Superman’s fall. In the movie, Ma Kent had already died, so Pa Kent was all he had, and using heat vision made it seem like more of a heat-of-the-moment reaction rather then several minutes of pure psychosis.
@@hunterblane610 Respect your opnion but I disagree since Clark reaction and the brutal way he beats Ollie helps to showcase how unstable Clark has become. Plus the fact that both his parents are alive in some ways explains Superman's corruption since, in most versions, Jonathan or both Kents die before Clark become Superman, teaching the lesson that he can't always save everyone. But because their are alive in the Injustice universe, it's clear that IJ Superman probably never experience loss and never learned this lesson.
@@alexandrefrauches132 Sure, he didn't learn that lesson, but the fact that injustice Clark didn't loose anyone makes his reaction even more overblown. Pa was barely injured and Clark went ballistic even with Ma, Pa, and Jor-El trying to talk him down. I don't know. If that incident took place like 4 or 5 years Into the regime, maybe it would make more sense, but I'm pretty sure this happens in Year 1 or 2, so Superman just goes ape sh*t on someone who was his friend not too long ago. He doesn't even seem to feel that bad about if afterwards.

His attacks on Ollie are basically Clark letting himself being corrupt by those emotions: His fear of seeing another person being injure or killed, his anger against those who hurt them and specially against himself for not having done anything to prevent this. Injustice Superman doesn 't feel bad in the end bc he doesn't want to feel like this ever again. He already blames himself for Lois death so instead of taking responsability for his actions he just tries to blame others, in particular Batman, for his problems

I'm pretty sure the comic events are the canon version. The arrow wasn't even willingly deflected. It bounced off of Superman and into Pa Kent's shoulder. Also, Martha was there and both were trying to stop Clark from killing Oliver. It uh....didn't work.
The funny part is Harley Quinn to woman who was with the Joker played a massive role in Metropolis getting nuked gets a redemption arc but Injustice Superman doesn’t 💀

Injustice Harley Quinn finally realized how much of a monster the Joker is. Injustice Superman is consumed with rage because the Joker tricked him into killing Lois and the unborn baby in her and destroying Metropolis at the same time. He ran the planet in a North Korean fashion out of grief over the death of his wife and unborn child and out of rage at corrupt politicians for letting criminals like Joker run loose, committing heinous atrocities.

If I remember correctly I the injustice 2 comics Mary marvel made an appearance showing how she’s still grieving Billy’s death and blame Superman for indoctrinating him and once he disagrees killing him

I've said this in another video, but the fact that superman knows Billy is a kid says it. Like all superman had to do was freeze his mouth and had him sent into the phantom zone which he could've done but the fact he killer him just because he mentioned lois wouldn't want this says a lot.
The Writers of Injustice 2 forgot about the timeskip. Billy Wasn't Transformed into Shazam. Superman killed Billy not Shazam that's why he covered his mouth.
Shazam’s one of the few heroes capable of being the absolutely daylights out of Superman in a 1 on 1 without anything to weaken him first. If he let Billy live and he turned, Superman would have a big problem.

For people mad at Batman for NOT killing Joker leading to the deaths of Lois & her unborn child; let us not forget that in the main continuity of the series it is Lex Luthor who gives Joker the nuke that blew up Metropolis that was linked to Lois' heartbeat! So, if Batman is the 'villain' of this story for not killing Joker (in the Injustice timeline) then Superman would also be linked as a 'villain' for not killing Lex sooner (in the main continuity)

How joker and Harley Quinn never really faced legal consequences is beyond me.
Jonathan Kent (son of the mainstream Superman) met Injustice Superman and even after finding out that this version of his dad is a tyrant who kills anyone who stands in his way. but instead of fighting him Jon decided to just talk to him and remind him of lois. Yeah Jon Kent/Superman decided to do a talk no jutsu.

I would also like to mention the often overlooked deaths of Martian Manhunter and Captain Atom (only happens in the comics) at the hands of Superman prior to the death of Ollie, I know everyone mentions Shazam’s death as the point of no return but killing three members of the league in the span of a few hours I think already is irredeemable
There are some other notes in the dialogue that further dive into who this Superman is, such as him wanting to take the good one’s Lois in their confrontation in Injustice 1, or him grouping thieves with rapists and murderers near the start of 2. Also him working with villains like Sinestro and Black Adam, killing off Green Lanterns in the comics, having a military death squad, and a few assorted pre-fight lines in the games. What probably solidifies this Superman not getting a redemption arc is the end of Batman’s ending in the Arcade mode where at the end, despite calling Superman ‘Clark’ all game, he refers to him as ‘Kal’, meaning that not even Batman believes he can be redeemed anymore past that point.
Injustice Superman is a Clark who never really believed that anyone, and I mean anyone could ever understand him, because in his mind he was the Last Son of a dying planet, the Symbol of Hope, he was the Paragon of Justice, which means no one could understand his loss of his wife, unborn child, best friend, and city to the same man who should have been years ago.
Honestly he really does fall off very hard especially with wonder woman around. While I dislike the movie. The ending is actually good showing superman has gone off the deep end so far he knows he can't be redeemed as Lois wouldn't have wanted him to become like this. I can see that if we ever get a final injustice story
Despite the movie not being good, I have to say it might be the best written Injustice content as if we’re being honest… Injustice as a whole was never that great of a continuity. Every league member with the exception of course being Batman, acts so out of character, especially Wonder Woman.
@@RedCommunistDragon wonder woman would act like this when she can she's a warrior and while normally of course the heroes would be heroes. We see in a lot of else world stories she goes off the deep end a lot or just gives up on humanity so it's not out of character for her especially if she has a crush on superman in this universe. Plus we see she'd take revenge when possible like in tas where she'd probably punch out toy maker in the heat of the moment. Injustice is just her always at that level.
@@RedCommunistDragon I think the big issue is that with the first Injustice game, we didn't have a good view of exactly what the Injustice universe really WAS. Based off of what we were given, we just had to assume that it was pretty much identical to the main universe, but with the diverging point of Superman killing the Joker. But the comics really put a swerve into that, especially with Wonder Woman. She's practically unrecognizable from her original version, and that's because in the Injustice series, they slightly altered her origins: Steve Trevor, her first love and introduction to humanity, turned out to be a Nazi sleeper agent, and she ended up killing him after he betrays her and the Amazons. This in turn made her far more cynical and distrusting about mankind, which would lead to her helping to stoke Clark's worst impulses and leading him further down his dark path into becoming a tyrant who will kill anyone who opposes him. Injustice Wonder Woman is one that can only see the worst in humanity, instead of the one who sees the best in them. If you didn't look it up or read the comics, you wouldn't know ANY of that. So it's up to the player / viewer to have to fill in a LOT of gaps to figure out why certain characters pick certain sides, which can make for a pretty messy story.
@@ivanbluecool In the case of Toy Maker it sense and even justifiable, however, in the Injustice comics and games she’s straight up diabolical, killing and torturing anyone who even slightly disagrees with her. Granted she is a warrior but still. I’m aware that in the comics and 2021 film (unsure about the games) Steve Trever, the man she loved dearly, turned out to be a Nazi spy so Diana swiftly decapitated him. And this put her on a far more cynical view on the world of man. Makes her motivations in the movie much more understandable.

Yeah heaven forbid a guy try to end War, poverty and crime. The only guys truly pissed about Superman being in charge were the ones profiting from these endeavors. In a world with no crime what need is there for a Batman? Superman ended War so effectively he had the God of War ARES scared. Dude ran to Batman who immediately started a War with Superman Coincidence? I THINK NOT. Funny how no one found it strange Ares being with the insurgency.

When Superman killed Shazam there was no redemption for him. Same way Ollie death was unjustified. But all things said he wasn’t the mastermind of all of this it was Diana who was the true villain of this. To avoid all of this Batman and a couple of heroes needed to comfort him in his time of need to guide him back into the light. But at this point he’s beyond redemption.

You should compare and contrast Injustice to Kingdom Come since the latter followed a lot of the same story beats but Superman DIDN'T become a murderer. And maybe compare Injustice Superman to Justice Lord Superman.

I feel like they won’t. Because they purposely subverted this expectation in Injustice 2. After he’s let out, and they talk at the old Justice League table, and we see him and Batman working together again, we start to think that maybe he is going to be redeemed, BUT THEN, he goes back to his old ways, and once again, Batman has to take him down and Superman says “even without my powers, I’ll be back”. So, right there, I felt like they purposely did that to show this Superman couldn’t be redeemed.

I actually have an idea for how Superman (at least, the one in the Batman ending) could be redeemed: It’s my assumption that the character endings are canon as alternate timelines, and Superman’s ending just fills in the gap between defeating Batman and visiting Supergirl. My idea suggests that this Superman starts visiting the other timelines/endings before eventually arriving at the Batman timeline. Batman has to release Supes from the Phantom Zone and after seeing just how far he would’ve gone, he makes it his mission to right his wrongs and redeem himself. He and the JL go to the Superman timeline and free Kara, at which point they defeat the evil Superman. Good Supes is then offered a choice: kill his evil counterpart or spare him. The good (canon) ending comes when Superman spares the evil version and redeems himself

This is why I liked some of the "Injustice" movie parts. They have stuff like "The magic community leaving the Justice League", "Wonder Woman being horrified at Superman killing children and eventually turns on him", and "Superman surrendering instead of needing to fight him down". The movie definitely had bad points, having Flash die a stupid death and letting Amazo wipe out both Hawkman and Cyborg. But I found it a more reasonable story then the OG injustice, which was literally "The world's strongest heroes become villains" but they had them jump years ahead and then retcon the whole story to fit the game.
Don't forget the atom dying to a gas that shouldn't even affect him and the shard of kryptonite was still inside superman's head

I think it is an interesting dynamic I think is the best way to say it to portray a popular comic book hero as a harsh, tough dictator villain. People admire to some degree a variety of comic book heroes and there are many of them out there whom have fought villains with genuis level intelligence, super powered meta humans, evil mutants with various powers, powerful aliens, shape shifting beings, conquerors like Darkseid, Ronan, Thanos, Brainiac, Ultron, Dr. Doom, various mythological gods. Majority of the heroes seem infallible or almost infallible. To have a version where a hero, crosses lines and does something they didn't think they would ever do and the fans who read stories of them gives them a reality check that just as a comic book hero with a lot about them to like can do bad things, so can some of the most smartest, kindest and bravest people on earth today can fall from their own moral ground level. Evil deeds are not reserved for only those, who have been taught for years to be that way or that were mind controlled into doing bad things. Joker told a line that it just takes one really bad day... Injustice Superman's worst day of his life was receiving a special fear toxin that made him believe that he was seeing one of his most dangerous enemies only to end up killing Lois and their unborn child thinking he was protecting Lois and the world.

The moment he considered flattening cities and invading worlds, that was when he stopped being Superman and became more Ultraman in all but name. But having bad intentions isn’t necessarily the point of no return, I could want to do something really bad but that doesn’t mean I’ll do it, you can morally come back from wanting to do something bad as long as you don’t do it. The moment he even considered killing Shazam though, a child, that was the moment that he fully stopped deserving to wear that S and gave up any chance that he had of ever becoming Superman again. This Superman can still do heroic things but he’s never again going to have another chance of ever becoming a true hero. Even more tragically, Superman himself killed that chance of it happening when he killed Billy. That’s where Supergirl comes in in this story, she’s what Superman once was, what he still could’ve and should’ve been if he didn’t end up making all the wrong choices while wallowing in and being consumed by his grief and his rage. I fully believe regardless of wether he should or shouldn’t be redeemed or wether he even could or couldn’t be redeemed, Superman’s redemption isn’t happening. On the contrary he’s already been replaced or he’s in the process of being replaced.
I think the animated film "redeemed" him in one of the best possible ways. He wasn't outright forgiven or welcomed back. He was forced to come to the realization that no, Lois would not and does not condone what he's doing, that Clark Kent once saw all life as precious. Faced with his demons and seeing how wrong he was he willingly turns himself in and gives up on his power cruise, something he thought the people he wanted dead could never do nor deserved to do.
hey if this relevant but there was crossover of he-man and injustice years ago, the story takes place after injustice 2 superman ending. in where the new resistance went to eternia to recruit he-man who's having some trouble being the new king and all after his secret was revealed. also the crossover redemeed damian in that story as he finally see's how evil superman had become.

This is a hot take and is off topic but hear me out, Harley Quinn literally got off easy after help orchestrating creating evil superman as well as caused the death and destruction of metropolis. I understand Harley was manipulated by the Joker but that comes across as taking away someones autonomy, agency and free will. Sure she feels guilt for what she's done but no one scold her, judge her by her actions, no one is like "I will never forgive nor forget what you've done" Batman's team is all buddy buddy with her which is weird when you think about it. I still find it wild that Batman would let Harley Join his team regardless whether she's trying to change or not If I was sups I'd be pressed AF, imagine your former friend(s) working with the same person who not only helped kill millions but kill your wife and unborn child. You should check out the comic where the Johnathan Kent of another universe, gets caught up in the Injustice universe and has a confrontation with Superman who is his father in another universe, and after learning all that has happened in that world in just a matter of hours, he doesn't try to fight what would be his dad in that universe, he just says that he's disappointed and sad that things turned out the way they did, and then gives that Superman a well deserved hug, and that simple action actually made Superman emotional and he was rethinking things for a bit, but that was until Cyborg interfered and sent John back to his own Earth, basically ruining any chances that he was going to redeem himself, because the true villains in Injustice isn't Superman alone, its the dumb regime that keeps him in check, since evil people like that version of Wonder Woman are the ones that keep influencing that Superman to be evil, so it basically comes down to the company that he keeps in that continuity, as Batman turned his back on him, his right hand woman is evil, and everyone else is basically too scared to do anything and blindly obey. Its funny to think that an outsider who was in that world for just hours, almost saved the world not by fighting or arguing, but for being loving and compassionate, two of the things that almost everyone from the Injustice universe appear to be incapable of being. TLDR Injustice Superman isn't evil, he was made evil and they keep him in check.

Not all Crimes should be punish by death, also there are false conviction and people forced into plea deals for things they never did, Killing all Criminals doesn't work and Killing 1 will lead down that sloop of whose next, over and over and over. That why Batman doesn't kill the Joker but Joker need to be locked up somewhere better, like the Green Lantern Prison on Oa, or Maximum Confine Cell with no interaction with others, Batman Justice ain't perfect but he doesn't want to take free will away from others, Injustice Superman does think people shouldn't have weapons, shouldn't make these choice, shouldn't commit crimes, should listen to him, even with that logic anything could become weapon, report fake crimes could kill someone, and people want to make chooses and will fight for that right.
Wonder Woman was way worse. She deserved to be imprisoned as much as him

I don't think he died in Comics. Like, yeah, Jonathan Kent was "shot" by Green Arrow, when his arrow ricocheted from Sups, but he didn't die, as we saw him in both 4th year in comics (3 years after death of Green Arrow) and in Injustice 2 comics
I honestly believe that the only true villain in the Injustice series is Wonder Woman. She essentially transformed Superman into the man she wanted him to be. Instead of allowing him to grieve over the death of Lois Lane, his daughter, and the city. She manipulated him at his most vulnerable and then tried to replace Lois Lane. She gotta go
*The closest Injustice Superman could ever come to redemption in my opinion would be something like this:* *A)* He must admit he was wrong, that his plan was never going to fit the vision he wanted and his ideology was never truly driven by believing he was just. It was his fear of losing anyone or anything important to him after Lois & his unborn child. Perhaps he'd somehow have a vision of Lois and Pa Kent, telling them all that's transpired since their deaths. Whatever the circumstances, Clark comes to realize on his own that, while he has no remorse for killing Joker and still sees that as something that should've been done long ago, he did go too far. He regrets how his actions harmed and endangered innocents. He's haunted by murdering Shazam, betraying Kara, and turning his closest friends against him. He wishes he'd listened to his Pa and stopped this madness masquerading as necessity sooner. He's so far gone after all the killing and mental anguish that he doesn't recognize himself anymore. He doesn't even remember how hope feels. Most of all, he regrets destroying humanity's trust in him forever when he only ever wanted to protect and help them. Sobbing like a child, he confesses that he lost faith in people. It was easier trying to force them on a path he chose than believing in their potential and leaving them freedom to choose to better themselves. He was supposed to set an example, keeping the faith that his heroism would always inspire good in the end. But it's not too late to believe again. *B)* He dies in a great sacrifice, giving his life to directly contribute in defeating the saga's final villain (I'd go for Darkseid). Multiple Justice Leaguers/Regimers would die, including Wonder Woman, but Clark's death is built up the most. Survivors around the world watch him go out in a blaze of glory. It's thanks to him that Batman & company save Earth. It would be a massive final battle where every surviving hero, anti-hero, and villain from the beginning of the Injustice Saga to now would participate in some capacity. In his final moments, Clark bids Bruce farewell, knowing his apology at this point would mean little-nothing but giving it anyway. He knows he won't be reunited with his family after all he's done. He accepts that he deserves damnation. But he hopes (feeling hope for the first time in years) that, in time, the world he loves will recover, heal from the pain he caused, and begin to believe in heroes again. Humanity's divided over whether to remember Clark as the hero he was or the tyrant he became. Batman believes they should remember both, not only to understand how Superman's fall from grace happened but learn from it and teach this dark history to future generations. *C)* The ending could move forward to sometime in the future, when new heroes are emerging and Earth is relatively peaceful for the time being (partially out of fear that too many conflicts could give rise to another Regime). The scars left by Clark's reign are far from fading, but the world is slowly improving. On a beautiful day, Bruce visits Joker's grave. In his last words to the villain (in his mind), Bruce tells his old nemesis "You didn't get the last laugh after all." He may have succeeded at making Superman lose control, being indirectly responsible for all that followed. But the world will go on. Humanity will persevere, and someone will always exist to carry on the hope the Justice League once stood for. Bruce will make sure of it. Fear didn't win. Chaos didn't win. Joker did NOT win. And, as long as Batman has a say, he never will.
He was too far gone to realise his mistakes, if he does get a redemption arc sort of thing, it would most likely come in denial, something that shatters his faith in what he had done till now, forcing him to retire to a discreet location, and come back generations later
IJ3 should show Superman getting eviscerated by Lobo, for being evil enough to have plans to force his OWN COUSIN, to be the figurehead of his new Regime!
Hopefully Evil Superman trope is not overextended too much If the writing is done right; DC Comics is similar to Star Trek--a moral lesson learned, then hopeful and optimistic about the future

At the end of the day, Clark was very hesitant in everything he was doing after snapping on Joker. DIANA was the one who pushed his buttons further and made him cast aside any doubt. She should of been imprisoned in the Phantom Zone along Clark if anything, but she got pretty much the better end of the punishment, if not any punishment at all. That's what bugs me the most.

In the He-Man crossover, it follows up on the bad ending; Superman (presumably) demolished Metropolis to make an example, all the villains are under mind control and now patrol the planet assaulting anyone for even thinking wrong, and he even tries to gain control of reality (I think) to take it over. In the end, even He-Man, another character much like Shazam, recognized there was no salvation for this guy and death was the only true way of stopping the madness for both Earth's and Superman's sake.

Similar to every version of Batman that crossed the line and killed someone, there is no real redemption. Oliver/Green arrow started out killing and slowly began yo use it as a last resort like most normal people will. However unlike Oliver, Batman and Superman are far from normal, they both have no equals in what they do that means when they start sliding there is nothing to stop them.
