The first time Killer Croc jumped out of the water I had no idea what I was suppose to do so I just ran all the way back to the beginning of the boardwalk path only to realize that i'm only suppose to use a batarang haha
Lol same
LOL, I won't even lie I did the EXACT same thing. It freaked me out.
Same here, the level isn't hard but it's the fear of knowing Killer Croc is there makes the level good
Eddie Balderrama dude same I literally said out loud what am I suppose to do?! As I ran back to the beginning
Eddie Balderrama sounds like something i would do
Batman"ill need to move as quietly as possible". *speed crouches through the whole place*
I don't know why people crouch you can just walk normal
I walk through the whole level
#best one it’s a lot quicker to speed crouch lmao walking is too slow
@@Oneeye_snaps batman back I'm made out something more stronger than titanium cause constantly having your back bent over is not good for anyone health
I used the wire.
Anybody else have a LITERAL heart attack playing this level?
The Joker's Apprentice Yes, I was so into this level and every single sound I hear just made me paranoid. I was scared as hell. Especially when he pops up out of nowhere and that music plays..
Hello Nibbers of same species If your a sarcastic ass how are you still likable?
I thought it was going to be a hand to hand fight
@Hello There stop being so disrespectful to that lady wtf is wrong with you
Hello There Lol. I never said I didn’t like you Mr. Grammar police. And if that’s as far as you sense of humor goes, to completely miss the fact I was making a joke then I feel sorry for your friends. 😂
what about croc? he won't be a problem *me crying* yes he fucking will
U alive?
Lmao
It’s called the game comforting you
They did a good job with this level. Adding the fear of the unknown as you venture to find the cure for the Titan project, It keeps you on edge.
The whole theme of Arkham Asylum was horror. The insane inmates jump scaring you around every damn corner, the fear of getting caught by scarecrow’s gaze, Bruce’s dead parents in the morgue, killer croc anxiety of trying to escape his lair, all of that made this game unlike the rest just because of the horror aspect... It was unique and makes it unlike any Arkham game that followed. I love it for what it was/is but I’m glad they changed up the tone and didn’t have any horror aspects in the following games. We’re playing as Batman....We’re supposed to feel badass but in this game, we’re constantly having anxiety and fear go through us.
@@Stud03Muffin absolutely
But I think there should have been some good boss fights rather than titan henchman only like there should have been a good battle with croc
And it's very unsettling when you hear that loud music whenever you walk into a certain area
Until you play it enough to know every area he attacks and can just get by like it’s nothing
This level scared the hell outta me. I can't understand why so many people roll their eyes at it, especially if you really analyze it. This is basically you experiencing what the mooks experience when you have to sneak around and knock them out silently: you don't know when Croc will show up, you have to move slowly almost all the time, and one single misstep will get you eaten. It's that scary.
I know how u feel I just got to that level today
Luis Ramos Take a deep breathe before you start, man. You'll need it.
jw8395 I think, on the whole, the best stuff in this game revolves around stealth, whereas "City" is more memorable for your strength since the boss battles in that game are more intense. This part and the Scarecrow bits are the best (and scariest) parts of the game.
jw8395 I cant get the floor to explode at the end? anyone else having this probelm?
What do u mean it won't explode r u pressing the right button
What I love so much about this scene here is, that Batman is about to face a 11ft tall crocodile mutant monster, and he casually sets up his trap for croc while talking to Barb as it would be just another day in his life. That was absolutely badass. Calm and calculated, knowing his plan, tools will help him to solve this issue, just imagine the confidence of this man.
Sigma male energy
that's what I always loved about Asylum (and even Origins), that it feels like a sort of "day in the life" story for Batman. this is the kind of stuff he faces on the daily. the other games never really managed to capture that in my opinion. the fact that he just goes off to stop Two-Face at the end is the icing on the cake. the night's just getting started! I feel both City and Knight were trying too hard to be "the last Batman story" while simultaneously making Batman younger for some reason. in Asylum, Batman was old and battered, almost pre The Dark Knight Returns in a way, that's why you had this massive collection of bios of all the foes he has faced over the years. the other games retconned that, and it was for the worse in my opinion.
@@sunsetman22 Well put. He is an experienced dark knight here already, has like 15 years of experience. He dealt with Killer Croc already a dozen of times for sure. Like he knows his enemy, and in book "the Art of War" you will read why. To put it simply: "“If you know the enemy and know yourself, you need not fear the result of a hundred battles." The very essence of this scene is displaing us it in a great and compelling way, the triology is a masterpiece. Timeless masterpiece.

@Fwuffycodbunny Yes they where
When I first played the level, it scared me a little until I got used to throwing the Batarang at Killer Croc. Then from that point, whenever I threw the batarang, I was yelling "BAD CROC". hahahaha.
Playing this on PC with a headset at night was scary as all hell!
I was 8 when i completed this game,it was scary, but very great. I was afraid of the scarecrow boss battles.
@@LalMohanGanguly1936 im 12 and I played this game maybe when I was 6 or 7 and it was so scaaaaryyyy and now im playing it again and its so much scarier
Decreiver Receiver And how is he lying?
It was late in the night and i was alone in my room. I was at the point shown in the beginning of the video, thinking "that's going to be an epic fight, i'm gonna smoke some weed" then did so, turned off the lights and put on my in-ear earphones at a loud volume and and entered the tunnel. I was pretty scared just with his breathing. I took Batman's "as slow as possible" literally and crouched while moving the stick only as little as necessary to start moving. It was extremely slow. I didn't realize that the thing on the left shows the noise level threshold. But i wasn't bored, i was on edge. After a while, since my noise apparently wasn't doing anything, i tried going a little bit faster. I slowly increased the speed in this way until i was pushing the stick halfway to the top. Two gates and a long time later, i arrived at the first part where he pops up. I shat my pants and ran away in panic. The camera was therefore forced to point away from Croc and the right stick couldn't make me look back without making me risk running off the wooden platforms. While i was running i had no idea how far he was, or whether i was running faster than him. I jumped over a gate and a few seconds later heard him destroy it. I ran through the 90 degree turn, jumped over the second gate and listened, but the sound was different. I couldn't tell whether he had went through it or not. I kept running all the way back to the beginning, and after i passed the explosive gel i turned back, with the hand in the trigger in hoping i could get him, but half expecting that he was on my heels and i was about to see him jumping at my face. But instead he wasn't there. I noticed the music went away. That's when i noped the fuck out of this and consulted a guide.
Then maybe don't play this at night.
1:53 “Mission Accomplished thank god” 2:02 “Say sike right now”
Batman: I need to [insert how many he needs to collect or destroy] if I want to continue.
Fr oh my gooodd
The fact that Batman didn't even say a word or even kept a straight face throughout all of this shows how fearless he truly is
Maybe his fear is what kept him going
@@adammarch9604 it's fear that gives men wings.
Batman definitely has a healthy fear of Jones, he just doesn't let it prevent him from doing what he needs to

I hated this part... I got so freaked out, I've always been scared of K.C. so this was hellish to me. I cried but did the thing
This part is what made me hate Croc. This part I still get freaked out by.
I didn't really respond to it =/
+FusionGrand same i love killer croc in the other games but this scene a long with (spoilers) the scarecrow being attacked freaked me out!!!
My brother Derek is scared of that area too you know. I only wish you can face your fear.
The lunatics scared me the most...
This level really amazed me. For me this is the peak of Arkham Asylum. The bgm, atmosphere, creepiness and mystery. Ultimate perfection.
the peak of the entire Arkham series in my opinion.
Nah the whole game is peak.
I love the way how Croc says "I will find you!!!" at the end of this video.
Batman looks like he gets scared and doesn't open the gate all the way when he says that.
@@squid-ink2628 Replying to an old comment, I know. Opening the gate wider than that is unnecessary, lol.
This level was freaking creepy when you played it because you were so into the game by this point that you completely focused so when Croc jumped up it was a shock.
Using the line launcher in this level makes things so much easier...
No it dose not
Really??? I can't play onward from this stage because of fear...
I didn’t even thought of that because I was too into this level and I was scared as hell.
I am so glad I'm not the only person who thought of that
Wait, you can use the line launcher all the time?
Playing this for the first time legitimately felt like a horror game. The music, the sudden horrifying jump-scares, a literal crocodile man running straight towards you. Even playing it a second time had me unsettled even though I knew what was going to happen.
I played this mission yesterday for the first time and am 30 years old it got me so stressed after batman finished collecting the samples i was happy that finished the mission but they wanted me to go out too i almost cried 😂😂
What’s even more terrifying is that Croc’s lair is in a sewer network that has nothing on record about it. Makes you wonder who built it, when, and why.
The records were erased.
I came here after watching Batman, Superman and Luthor taking on Darkseid in JLU. And these videos made me realize that the Joker was right all along: Batman is out of his Godforsaken mind
I like to think that Batman has been to places such as Apokolips, and yet Arkham Asylum is still the scariest place in the entire universe lmao
I really need to rebinge the entire DCAU sometime.
@@sunsetman22to be fair Arkham is a hell on earth on its good days
I love the way when Killer Croc is running at him he just sits there and throws a batang at him
I remember being 10 years old and being stuck on this level for DAYS (this was before I knew about KZhead walkthroughs). It took my Dad watching me play one day to finally suggest I crouch instead of walk/run on the boards. The man hadn’t touched a game in years and remembered the basics of video game problem solving. I, meanwhile, felt like an idiot….. great game.
Yeh you was a little slow
Was 12 when i played it, 3rd try and I won
This is my favorite Arkham Asylum part.. Our favorite hero in the scariest place. And I dunno why, I like this Batman more, it's like he's in his wisest and fearless stage.
Batman never fears about 98% of the time
Exactly, this is his 8th year being Batman and he activates the Knightfall protocol 2 years later (in game time) so he’s not even in the middle of his career he’s nearing its end.
God I don't like this part. It still scares me. Whenever Croc comes I go "WHERE IS HE!? WHERE IS HE!?". And the part where Croc chases you I just keep yelling "RUN RUN RUN RUN RUN RUN RUN!!!".
xDDD
Lol same!
Basically same.
It's scary as crap bro
My name bannna
Killercroc:Ima kill you Batman:Just wait until i get the stuff from the spore Killercroc:Fine just hurry
XD
"my caves will be your tomb!" dang Croc, pretty good death threat
5:59 Croc pops out of water Batman: Move!! Throws Batarang at him
This segment instantly made Killer Croc the scariest Batman villain to me. When batman said "as slow as possible." I moved like I meant it. When I first saw this game played at my friends house. He wondered what he was supposed to do when Killer Croc charged. I instantly said "Batarang!". And I'm glad I guessed right.
One of my favorite things about this game is how distinct these "bosses" are. This is SUCH a different ecounter than bane, scarecrow, joker.... so diverse
Anyone else just run back to the entrance when they first encountered croc because they didn't know what to do lol?
+
Nah first time I ever encountered him I really didn't ran back to the entrance...
lmao i just went into shock and stood there while he ran at me
Same hahaha
When i first saw him, Bane fight came into my mi8nd. So,i hit him with a quick throw Batarang when he first popped out. But that didn't work
5:55 "He won't be a problem." (Croc jumps out right in front of him) Gets me every time.
Croc: OH REALLY NOW?! WON'T BE A PROBLEM HUH?!
@shaydystheshadowqueen9584 Hits him with a batarang Croc: AHHHH SHITTTT BALLSSSS MY ASSS!!!!!

I used to play Batman when I was really young like about 5 and their was this 1 part where you had to go past these two guys and I was so scared after a week i gathered my courage I went past them realizeing that they were only the gcpd guards🤣😂
XD
I think this is where my anxiety started.
if only he's smarter, croc could have been a world champion swimming athlete
No way in hell would Croc have been a world champion swimmer athlete, they would say he can't due to his appearance and they would probably chase his ass off.

I HATED this level. Hated hated hated. Try not to let him get to you during the final stage. The death scene is you looking up into KC's face (he's on top of you), then he opens his jaws and chomps down. Complete with bone crunching and Batman scream. Urgh.
runninginsept yes he chomps you down. but i didn't hear batman screaming.

That roar at 0:10, I have a theory that Croc had a taste of Crane’s toxin
I love the anxious feeling when Croc makes a threat, jumps out, but you can't tell where he is because you're at a four way intersection lol.
Croc- A TOY COLLAR WONT STOP ME FROM KILLING YOU!!! Batman- Yea but battering's to the toy collar will.
Man, even knowing full well that you'd get out alive, this was still scary to watch, especially since that if Batman died here, all those close enough to know his identity would have to confess or Wayne enterprise would be left without an heir, and that's not even considering the fate of Arkham Island!!!
scary to imagine
it's funny because Asylum, easily the most minimalist game on the entire series, has the most realistic and earned stakes in my opinion. and that's because this is just another friday night for Batman. the other games tried to up the ante in an artificial way, but fell flat.
R.I.P. Kevin “Batman” Conroy
Croc: I WILL FEAST ON YOUR BONES My batman: noo croc..... I WILL FEAST ON YOUR BONES D8 CRoc: O____O
Batman: 🏃♂️ "I'll need to move as slowly as possible" 🏃♂️
Batsy looks like a boss when he hits croc and just stands there.
This mission scared the shit outta me
1:00 "I need to move as slowly as possible" he said, while walking crouched faster than most humans do when late for work.
Becausehe is Batman and he had Ninja training. Which means he can land/run without making noise
This level honestly scared the hell out of me. It took me a few days to overcome the fear.
So Deadpool is sacred of something
The most terrifying part of this game: the very level that had me absolutely terrified me when I played this game for the first time.
I had to pause my game, this level was totally creepy
That's because you're afraid of that level.
It was really scary, I had to do that too
@@johnsantos507 oh yeah? why don't you sit in the dark, home alone, with the volume up, and then we'll talk.

Cenabull McDank I do that in Bendy and the Ink Machine.
I will miss Kevin Conroy. He was the best Batman.
Throughout this level, I was like "Please let me pass peacefully, don't pop out Croc." And then he did.
When Croc isn't present Batman's like: "I must be careful." When Croc attacks, Batman's like: "F*** this!"
This is one of the best levels of any game. Tense. Scary. Terrifying. Suspenseful. And you want to end as soon as possible
Croc: "You can't run from me!" Uh, yeah I can. Just hold down 'A'.
man its a good thing croc had that shock collar on or batman would be fucked.
jere miah right playd the game like 4 times
Not necessarily. He's BATMAN! He would probably figure something out.
This is the 2nd scariest part of the game - 2nd only to the 3 Scarecrow missions.
Yellow lines?
The first scarecrow mission scared the hell out of me ... but being forced to replay it over and over made me realise the trick to it. By the 3rd mission, scarecrow became kind of "predictable".
The scarecrow missions weren't really scary to me tbh.
@@mikeelliott3005 They aren't lol
This is way scarier
One of the best missions in any game definitely in the arkham series I remember playing this with my friend when we were both 10 we each took turn every time we died we failed about 40 times but I finally past it we where so nervous on the part where you run back and have to blow up the ground we where both screaming good times man
I love how Batman can stand straight up on a board that is clearly tilting in water without any difficulty.
this was a scary level but i would have liked a decent boss fight with croc after they built him up as something epic from the start of the game. slightly disappointed with this part
Fan theory: Croc at 0:11 screams because he was injected with Crane's fear toxin underwater. This would explain how he saves himself and why Croc would yell out of the blue
Except I'm pretty sure Waylon's skin is to thick for Crane's injection gauntlet to penatrate. Bullets do f$#@ all to this guy, so I personally find it hard to believe a needle could've pierced him. But, that's just *me* ...
8:42 admit it batman, you were scared weren't you?😂👏
And yet we thought his only fear was bats and his parents 😂😂😂😂😂🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣
He’s scared of bats?😅
Playing Marco Polo with Killer Croc? Batman sure likes danger.
Batman: "Marco! Heh, no one lives in these sewers." Croc faintly: "Polo." Batman: *"Wait hold on what the fuck-"*
Mom, can we have Killer Croc Boss Fight? Mom: "we have Killer Croc Boss Fight at home" Killer Croc Boss Fight at home: "Hey, little guy!"
8:30Croc is like hey batman it’s been a while give me a hug Batman : get the hell out of here
To me this was the most difficult and scariest part of the game... when I first played it I was 12 or 11, so besides being more afraid of Croc, I didn't know I could just crouch in that part. I remember stalling and avoiding the game for some days, cause having to walk slowly just made things more terrifying haha
Not gonna lie this level gives me nightmares to this day
Whenever he fell I would be like “OH GOD HES UNDER ME!”
If Croc he was close enough, couldn't he just reach out and flip the pallet batman is on? *Just goes flying into the wall & falls in the water.*
So glad Crane is gone, but I'm not sure this is much better. Gods, even without headphones on, and in broad day light, this sequence still gives me the creeps. Whoever plays these walkthroughs for you is stellar!
This part is kind of creepy at first, but after a while Croc just becomes repetitive and boring. It's only really scary if he pops out in front of you while you're looking for him in another direction.
CheesyGranola True enough. You get used to it kind of quick.
***** I know. I was talking about in this game. We don't see him again until one of the "one last jump scare" endings.
AnaxErik4ever yeah
I think someone hasn't played arkham knight. (I am fully aware this comment was six yrs ago)
I think this one raised my blood pressure permanently. I will never forget the shear terror I had when it went from silence to Croc screeching. Or the jump scare on the door.
Odd.. my K.C speaks most of the time before he pops up. Is something different on his game?
No mine does that to :3
Darkinu2 He says stuff like "I found you" or "I got your scent."
Darkinu2 mine too
Batman Arkham Videos is playing on Hard difficulty
@@Samuel152 I played on hard but killer croc has voice lines before he jumps up infront of you screaming ah-bloogi-woogi-woo
I did this part before, but during that time, I found a more silent and much faster way to get to the plants. Use the Line Launcher in areas where it'll bring you closer to your target. It'll take you farther, and the best part, Croc can't hear you as you're zipping over the platforms. And if Croc jumps on to the boardwalk, just quickfire your batarangs, because the quickfire allows you to hit Croc's collar without having to lock on to it
Croc will just time it and catch you.
Michael Terrell True. But as always, I was smarter than him. If he jumps up while i'm using the line launcher, all i had to do is drop down a distance away and then quickfire a batarang at his collar. And as soon as my quickfired batarang hits that collar, he goes right back down and I can keep zipping along
Garath Webb damn I should've thought of that.
Quick baterangs do not work. I learned that the hard way
0:10 Cave Of Wonders: Who disturbs my slumber? Batman: It is I, Batman. Cave Of Wonders: Proceed. Touch nothing but the Plant Spores.
"You can't run from me!" Hold A to run.
"My caves will be your tomb."
This just gets me pumped up for the upcoming DLC for Arkham Knight
Well then you'll be happy to know that your final confrontation with croc in Arkham Knight involves you punching him. You know, the thing that ruined any sense of tension and fear within the first couple of minutes of Arkham Origins. Doesn't matter that they made an even bigger and therefore more powerful, they just put him in a room with a bunch of goons while you and Nightwing turn the big scary man into a complete joke.

I think the game is actually trying to trick you by giving that prompt and revealing that location. Batman in beginning says that you need to stay quiet.
Rocksteady nailed this part. I just love the ambient and the aura this part gives me. Killer croc should totally be on other batman games!
yes, he is there in all 4 Arkham games except Arkham city. But he makes a brief appearance and there is a dialogue between him an Batman
