Tbh he was right and she agreed considering that she got famous by singing her first songs with that fake-Gwen Stefani voice. Plus she was not nearly as good technically as she is now. She started to to take her singing lessons seriously after her third album flopped and she had to reinvent herself, and with that much money and best teachers available I guess it wasn't that much of a sacrifice. Imo she forces too much tho. I prefered her tone somewhere in the middle, now it starts to be kinda grating for ears and too shouty, not enough subtle or seductive.

This moment was so much in character, it felt like Sinatra saying it to one of _his_ showgirls, also knowing that Gaga is also attracted to beautiful girls . Those were my initial thoughts when this video was released . Later, we all saw her belt out Jazz standards with Tony Bennet like they were her own, thus showing the depth of her musical training . I was at their performance during Copenhagen Jazz Festival, their 2 bands did very well in a city full of Jazz history where the easier Jazz standards are taught in schools along with other popular songs, and Jazz legends of older generations lived and performed in exile from racist countries . Obviously we have our own Jazz stars of Bennets generation and older too, like millionaire music composer Bent Fabric, Bass virtuoso NHØP, and piano martyr Leo Mathisen .

It might be true that she possesses all those skills but: the entrance in the scene is copied from Michael Jackson shows and she tries to sing a song which Liza Minelli has marked as the best amongst the ladies singer. On top of that her tuning in the high notes is not as should be by a professional singer of such a name. If she was really intelligent she would chose other songs, a different style approach and the proper tonality ! Simply she has not the voice and the style of Liza and therefore in this repertoire she is just a bad copy of hers; she is also light years far away from singer like Ella Fitzgerald, Sarah Vaughan, Dinah Washington, Billie Holiday, Barbara Streisand, Judy Garland, Shirley Bassey, and so on; but perhaps behind all her attempts to perform everything and anything there is a huge media organization and producers business which pushes her to do so. By the way, she is not the only modern singer who is over evaluated from the technical point of view. Roberto Salvi, Salzburg (A)

Her voice is gorgeous. She's so versatile. It's almost like it's effortless. She throws herself in any song she sings. So fucking genuine. I love her.
The teacher who told her that her voice was too dramatic to be popular should reconsider a career
Wtf... I am cringing for that teacher
Same as the record company exec. who told The Beatles that guitar groups were 'on the way out'
Tbh he was right and she agreed considering that she got famous by singing her first songs with that fake-Gwen Stefani voice.

@R U M I I get that but it's mostly lucky people. A few millionaire's are the ones that have talent and then the tax system is so rigged. +sentry8535 Man you have no sense of humor
NayunHe You must have thought that Barta's review was meant to be humorous, Well, it wasn't and you prove my point ; It was a silly review of a mediocre performance by Gaga.
Thanks guys. I just wanted to say, that (if you are a woman) you need so much confidence and such a big talent to act like a man, perform like a man, and without knowing how to be a true lady, you don't know what a gentleman is like and vice versa. I think you understand it, just don't agree but that's okay. And yes, I think Lady Gaga is a true lady, and I like how she can play with her identity. :)
I still say that the use of the term Gentlemen here was an unfortunate choice do to the fact that Frankie was a member of the coolest hippest, whisky swigging , cigarette (probably pot too ) smoking ...Rat Pack. Is emulating this kind of behavior the true mark of a true lady? Just something to think about.
13x Grammy Winner Y’ALL YASSS!!

Smoothest handling of an error I’ve seen.
@@GH-oi2jf Yes, so classy. I think she said "Go on, doll, take your spot." Lovely.
She sings, she dances, she composes, she acts... She is one of a kind!!!!!
She is a true artist😉
Plays piano, choreographs, she’s freaking funny as well in an interview. She also has an IQ that is like through the roof. She did the program that Elon musk and Mark Zuckerberg had done (different years) but it’s like 50 or so of the most brilliant students at duke university, it’s a summer program. She also runs the whole business as in she’s the boss and knows it, can you imagine her in bed as well (I can/ have lol).
She can rap also.
People keep calling her a flop. She just named a women of the year by billboard, plus a Grammy nominations for til it happens to you, top 10 highest-paid musician with earring $59M this year! It's so funny! Haters calling her a flop, it makes her more success this year!
Plus a Golden Globe Awards nomination!
+Dan Smit I don't read anything about Gaga and being a flop....if anyone does use that terminology they're in 3rd grade....she's really probably the most talented woman this country has ever had...all around.
+Sydni for her role as the countess on ahs :)
a golden globe nomination
+Sydni ahs hotel
Lady Gaga has a lot of natural talent, which shines through since there are so many out there who don't and just got lucky.
I swear this woman can sing anything
2015 is definitely the year of Lady Gaga. Maybe Perry and Swift sell their products good, but Gaga is much more artist than anyone! She's "every icon"!
+Imran Salamov she is alegend
+Imran Salamov She is the Best vote for her with the hashtag in twitter #MTVStars Lady Gaga
They just did commercial pop.Gaga did real music!!
i thought youre being shady "Maybe Perry" lol
+Fla Zéda ahahahaha
Everything about this woman is just so phenomenal, she is going to be forever timeless.
😘
I agree
bbñmsyzyujsslPsppsp8
agree
♥
The caliber of her performances are insane!
“Go ahead doll take your spot” 🥺💕
OK GUYS!! I'm not a Little Monster but I must admit she sounds incredible live!
Nobody cant deny her talent
+josemir aleman You just said that everyone can deny her talent, but never mind...
+iambogdyd You don't have to be a little monster, she's a legend these days.
+josemir aleman That double negative though...
+Evelina999 hahahahhahahahahah ok you guys sorry for my terrible english Hahaha
"Go on darling, take your spot" I'D DIE, SHE'S SO SWEET 😍
This and "I Wish" for her Stevie Wonder tribute is the most underrated performances.
The I wish performance is so good it's actually almost unreal. Her voice is just so perfect for that song and she hits every note so perfectly it's orgasmic. I don't know why so many people have never seen that performance
One of her best performances.
She better be in history books and be celebrated five hundred years from now.
we're all gonna be dead, nobody is gonna know her 500 years from now...sorry
Grace Deng We people have destroyed the earth by then
Why celebrate her while alive?
Yes
um no one will remember any artist from now even 100 years from now lol, I don't think even mj, elvis, and the beatles will be remembered for FIVE HUNDRED YEARS. 100 at max.
Pitch-perfect uniquely textured voice, sings every genre, plays, composes, directs music videos, arranges music, set & choreography, produces, dances while singing, composes orchestral arrangements and directs orchestras ... acts, is a fashion icon. This woman is a one-off genius in artistic performance history.
She is absolutely BADDASS actress too
It might be true that she possesses all those skills but: the entrance in the scene is copied from Michael Jackson shows and she tries to sing a song which Liza Minelli has marked as the best amongst the ladies singer. Roberto Salvi, Salzburg (A)
She's almost as good as Linda ronstadt
@@robertosalvi6405 who are u?
You nailed it with her many talents. A once in a lifetime talent.
Pop vocals really hold her back from her actual rage. It's crazy for her being from New York I can't imagine how many times she sang this.
We are so lucky to have Lady Gaga! I'm a 66-year-old bigtime fan, ever since Born This Way!
Usted sabe de música señor, lo felicito.
She should make jazz music she has the perfect voice for it.
she already did
Yep!
She did a jazz album
everything would sound good with her voice.
She better with pop She is doing pop :P
She is qualified to sing this song because she is NYC born and raised. Such a good cover too.
Bitch Im from Texas and I still nail this song. 💅
Zefra Master nah
Have you even HEARD of Liza Minnelli?! She’s born in California and SLAYS the fucking song
Frank Sinatra is from New Jersey.
Frank did it WAY better.
This song always makes me emotional and I'm not sure why - something about the iconic "bum bum bah-da-dum" is just so wonderful. And Gaga's voice is just electric and smooth and beautiful. She is this generation's Judy Garland.
...and Liza...
Jeez 😱😢 that is quite a heap of praise…..comparing her to Judy fucking Garland?! I bet Gaga would ironically go Gaga over that comparison. My god!
@@leonturner2598 but it's true! She can sing anything, her voice has a substantial emotional depth, and she's crossed over so many genre barriers.
@@eirikastokes9652 aww that’s genuinely heartwarming my friend
The ultimate multi-talented performance artist, period.
She reminded me of Liza in this performance. Fantastic as always
Same here!
+Phillipe Ramos OMMMGGGG IIIIIII KNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWW
+Alessandro Grant Frangipane Germanotta Martinez woow haha ^_^
I like how she made this look effortless
How have I never seen this before?! Speechless because I'm still trying to pick my mouth up from off of the floor.
i honestly gave up counting the times i watched this video. it's almost a vital need
In just the last few years, Lady Gaga has gained fans in just about every age group due to her work with Tony Bennett, her Oscars tribute to "The Sound of Music" and now her big-screen acting role in "A Star is Born." A remarkable run for any artist.
Plus her amazing performance at the Super Bowl!
......Not to mention, her rendition of the National Anthem at the Inauguration recently
I wish she sticks with Jazz for a few years and then returns to pop. I love jazz and Gaga does it very well!
+mendo SYK she and tony will record second jazz album too ;)
She confirmed Cheek To Cheek isn't her last jazz album
+mendo SYK well she is a New Yorker, Jazz is in her soul. She knows how to deliver it
no thnx. Go listen to Cheek to Cheek on repeat tbh
No.
I found this video six years too late... 😢 But better late the never 🤗
The most complete artist of this generation and you will deal!
so much talent, elegance, fashion, power voice, personality, in one person Lady Gaga my queen, our queen and woman of the year by Billboard. Whats Next?
+Jack Bass an oscar and lg5 i hope
true. I am happy for what comes of it.♥
What's next? Releasing live album of her every live performances.
Chang Li why not?
Gaga is the queen.
The best voice of our generation
Many Money yup
LUIS ROBLEDO Amy is died, and no, lol
@LUIS ROBLEDO Her music still alive, but she passed away 6 years ago, very tragic
Lady Gaga is a legend in every way
This performance is giving me life.
*9-time Grammy Award Winner and Academy Award Winner too! *11-time 😘
Oscar as well
Haha 🤣🤣🤣🤣
yassss
@@burqagoulding6786 Gurl, that is an academy award lol.
i just can't, its a good damn tittle for her
Her singing is just so smooth, it glided so good omg
Melin y me lanbo
Is there any other artist like Lady Gaga that can cross over from one music and age genre to another..from queen of pop to queen of jazz to queen of plays. Your Julie Andrew tribute btw was amazing. Giving it back to you incomparable Lady Gaga!💐
No one other than Frank Sinatra has performed this song quite like Lady Gaga. That's why I was surprised because they didn't put it on when they dropped the Ball at the end of the year. 2023. Lady Gaga congratulations.
When this performance makes your GRANDPARENTS say they appreciate Gaga= life is complete. Now they understand her true talent that they couldn't see behind the huge charade (i love both ways)
What the fuck is this pseudo-philosophical blabber?
Sophie Connolly my 68 yr old father loves gaga lol
Sophie Connolly I wish I had Grandparents
my parents turning point for Gaga was the Sound of Music Medley at the Oscars :) mum still doesn't like her pop stuff, but listens to Cheek to Cheek in the car all the time ^_^ that's good enough for me :D
+Alex Ymb m
guys, guys.....please appriciate all forms of Gaga. Let her take us wherever she travels. She's so very much more than one snapshot called "the fame" or "born this way". Stop trying to freeze her in time....she's taking us all on this most amazing journey with her through her career. I am so very excited over any and all that she does. Love you, Gaga!!!
It really is a journey. Fascinating and exhilarating. Stay tuned, is the best advice, I'd say.
+doug thompson I couldn't agree with you more... she's multi mega talented... makes me laugh to think of those who thought she was a flash in the pan in the beginning. Some people observe with only their eyes, but close your eyes and listen. She writes so much of her own stuff and she plays instruments and she dances and entertains and her voice is perfection. I'm 60 years old and I know talent when I see and hear it regardless of the wrapping... and someday I'd love to see her in concert but I think I'd be afraid of all her little "monsters", lol!!
+doug thompson Born this way is an awesome song.
+doug thompson Same feelings here, fellow monster.
I love this comment, she once said in an interview "Me and my fans are like an amoeba moving through the vast genres of music" i will journey with her and enjoy every minute of it.
Lady Gaga does it again..I always knew from the start how smart and talented this lady is..she's only getting started!!
I can’t decide if this performance or The Sound Of Music at the 2015 Oscars is Lady Gaga’s best vocal moment ?
holy shit is there anything she can't sing!?!? WOW :-)
she's comfortable in so many styles, love her
+eating raw faces is my least favorite thing to do. so true
I think she already did opera (Sound of music tribute at the Oscars 2015). With 1-2 years of training opera singing she could be the next Pavarotti.
David Bowie Tribute that was bad
Opera
GOD THAT INTRO IS JUST SO EPIC
I love her pose at the end of the performance. ❤
OMG that’s off the freaking charts! How good is this girl at this genre of music. More please Lady Gaga.
GAGA!!!! WE NEED NEW MUSIC LIKE The Fame/Monster...
No, we don't need anything from the past m.
+Dann Buenrostro I like every peace of her music , even now :D Just enjoy what she doin
+Lucs Sebá Ironic, cause this song is way older than her music.
+Dann Buenrostro dance? dance music is dead since 2012...
+DesiredSounds I mean from HER past, she's too good to use the same formula all the time, she's an ICON who reinvent herself all the fucking time and that's why I like her.
Omg Lady gaga is nominated for golden globe and grammy. Who thinks that she will win?
And also she is billboards woman of the year.
+The Gaga Insider Oscar why? Not hating just asking.
+alex + Til It Happens To You earned four nominations in four different critic awards in just one week. She's slaying.
+Romeo Sansaet yes, she is very talanted. and LG5 will be released in 2016, can't wait.
+alex and an oscar probably
holy shit she's amazing live!!!!
THIS PERFORMANCE OF HERS OMG. I ALWAYS COME BACK TO REWATCH THIS MASTERPIECE
Her timing was spot on, she never ran out of breathe, she was on pitch, her extended notes were executed marvelously, she was in total vocal control. Vocally, she performed very polished. Lady Gaga is a quality star. I remember many people bashing her and saying she was over, well she is still here, and better than ever. Lady Gaga isn't going anywhere. She is a star and she is here to stay and become an icon of legendary status.
I love your comment💖
she handled that little traffic jam with the dancer perfectly to the point where I'm not sure if it was intentional or not
Nat Slogg true
it was, they had to do her performance twice due to technical difficulties and that happened both times (it was a common bit with Frank Sinatra)
Nat Slogg That was a very Frank Sinatra thing. 🙂 She was on character still... that was perfection. They couldn't have picked someone better to close with!
ladycalderone99 is there a KZhead example of sinatra doing it?
Probably, I only know about it because my Grandma told me tho (Frank Sinatra was way before my time)
As talented as she is, we ain't seen nothin yet !
A living legend
Lady Gaga is one of the best singers of the 21 century! I have so much love, support and respect to her! She's a true legend of pop music! Gonna start watching the AMH Hotel with her now! P.S. RUSSIA LOVES LADY GAGA!!!
What's that supposed to mean banned? I listened, listen and will listen to her and nobody can stop me from doing that! Ive already begun watching AHS Hotel with her and she's great! Lady Gaga is not banned in Russia, yes Russia not russia, countries should be written with a capital letter, got it? lol
+СЛАВА ВЕЛИКОЙ РОССИИ Gaga can't go to Russia anymore, that's what he/she meant.
Little Monster, Says who? How do you know and what makes you so sure? Even if so, I guess I will survive. There's her music, her videos, her TV show even. I think I will be able to go without seeing her live. Not a big deal. But can you prove it that she's banned in Russia? For the record, world celebrities tend to come to even remote provincial towns in Russia with their concerts nowadays :)
+Stefani Gaga Well that wasn't new :D
***** Omgg!!!!111 ITs NoT nEw????!!!!!!! Nah rly, I know.
She is simply the best! If our generation has a Cher, Barbara Steisand, Michael Jackson, maybe even Aretha it’s her! Not only can she sing like a goddess, but she has theatrical capabilities like no other! I CANNOT wait for her new album to drop!
Yep. Paws up!
Liza minelli est incontestablement meilleure...
Yep, and I also cannot wait to see her in "House of Gucci" on the big screen.
Lady GaGa is the best female singer I have heard in my 75 years on this planet! Barbara Streisand maybe a close second.
Such a powerful voice! You’re just simply the BEST Gaga!
Frank smiles every time this song is played. This is one hell of an artist! She totally is
I love how perfectly timed she was launched by that lift platform lol

this performance always moves me. thank you for being such a great artist 😭❤️
Her voice is gorgeous. She's so versatile. It's almost like it's effortless. She throws herself in any song she sings. So fucking genuine. I love her.
