So sorry this happened to you. These are evil, heartless predators and it's not your fault; if you don't know what to be wary of then you had no way of really knowing. That's why I feel there should be more public awareness courses about scammers and their tricks. My very non-tech savy parents almost got deceived a few times and were lucky that I was around at the time to help steer them away from their traps. I believe hard times serve as opportunities for us to grow. Your luck will turn around, you'll see! Blessings will come into your life! Be not disheartened and know that all shall be well ❤
I’m so sorry! I hope you can get in contact with your bank and see if they can get any of your money back. My mum is of a similar age and I try to let her know about these scams but she gets so scared that I can’t get too in depth or she’d never use the internet again. She’s a retired business woman who used to use computers every day when I was a child, the fear tactics these scammers use are designed to make people panic and not think clearly. This wasn’t your fault and it’s a horrible experience. I have panic attacks and I can imagine how terrible a time you had. I wish you the best in the future and I hope somehow the universe restores karma and something really good happens to you x

I work in IT technical support and occasionally get someone on the phone like this, who wants to read everything they see on their screen, click on things they weren't asked to click on, try to "figure things out" when I already know what it is they need to do, etc. Can confirm it is extremely irritating lol

Was in the same boat back in 09'. IT services for a company that provided life saving and QoL devices for the elderly. 99% of that calls were either resolved by changing batteries or plugging the device in. I never rushed or hanged up. Took my sweet time and explained it all down so they could write it down, step by step. It might seem infuriating but all i could think is all the times i was child. Pooping my pants, slapping food, not understanding basic instructions, I was fortunate enough to have parents who were patient and understanding. People dont understand what's like not growing up with technology and all that it entails. Please be patient with your grandmas when she needs help downloading facebook

Not sure if a fake gift cards generator exists, but it would be a fun tool to mese with these idiots. Just give them a bunch of made up numbers and wait for them to try redeems fake codes and the losing their sh*t because it's not working. Not cool when they get nasty and threatening though.
I told a scammer I am blind. They even heard my newborn baby crying as I changed her diaper. I guess they figured I was trying to scam them and so they challenged the authenticity of my disability. They made me show them how blind people are able to use a computer by providing information on Google. I thought that would shut them down. Nope… They told me to get in an Uber And said I could just bring the baby with me in her car seat. You can’t make this stuff up

A few years ago I got a call by a scammer pretending to be a police officer. He claimed a witness saw me being involved in a drug deal in a park. They obviously used info they gathered online, because that park was pretty close to the university I went to. But I moved from place many years ago and I just laughed at them and wished them a good luck for their ~500km journey to arrest me. Kit gave me so many crazy ideas. I've no idea if I could bait them, but I sure would try to waste their time. 😂
Apparently border patrol seized my car at the Mexican border and they found a lot of cash, guns, and duffle bags of drugs. I played along for around 20 minutes, confessing to everything and i ended up saying I won't be taken alive and will have a shootout with the feds. Haha. I never owned a car and I don't drive.
I got one of those voicemails. "We are going to serve papers of arrest at your workplace". Yeah ok. Come put me "behind the bars".

I had a guy who called claiming to be from amazon. He even had my name and zip code. I of course checked literally every single thing he said and within 2 or 3 minutes he was literally asking how he could prove he was amazon. I just said I'd contact the actual company and he hung up. I did report the number but nothing will happen.
I’ve had my number 23 years. As a result, it is scam city. I refuse to change my number. I’ve had them start calling me as early as 4:45 AM. I am glad they are shown no mercy. Thanks for all you do.

I couldn't stop laughing, thank you. My sister was scammed out of $4,000, they told her she had to transfer all her money into bitcoin to protect her money, that they claimed her "husband was downloading a lot of child porn and the FBI will arrest him" if she didn't send everything she had, so she did. She was 65 but a very, very, very heavy drinker, so she was also paranoid. I'm 71 and I got a call like that and I told them to go fu*k themselves and hung up.
I have a prank that we used to do while we were in college. Here the step to do it. 1. Takes a screen capture of his screen. 2. Set that picture as the background. 3. Hide or delete the taskbar and delete all his icon on the desktop. 4. Enjoy the show of having him try desperately pushing the start button or an icon without having the expected result. Doing that to a scammers will make them mad while making them waste a lot of money. If we were to have a script that do it automatically at a random time of the day, that would be better.

hi kitboga, i just wanted to say thank you so much for your channel and everything you do. it's so educational. you saved me from losing $500 in a scam this morning bc i was able to recognize the signs (having me share my screen, being very aggressive (lots of "excuse me? are you accusing me??"), and employing scare tactics like time limits), so i did not lose any money they were posing as discord support and unfortunately i am still trying to regain access to my account as it got dinged for suspicious activity, but i would rather lose a discord account than $500, you know? what you do matters sooo much, so don't ever stop doing it! ❤

I've found the best way to deal with scammers is to let them give their spiel and then say " I'm just the guy who answered the call, who do want to speak to?" They always hang up.

Really fun. Just started getting the new scam calls, texts, and emails for 2024. One today was to cancel a visa “suspicious “ charge. Didn’t engage. There was a time when I would have been drawn in to this, but after watching your videos, I know not to fall for it. They are so very persistently malicious.
