Congrats on completing the board!! You got quite a few hardmode prompts, that is so cool. Also, same here on not realising that a book fits for a certain prompt until someone straight-up mentions it to me lol. Curious to see what you are planning for this year's board!! 🤩
Hard mode is always the goal I set out with, but by the end I have to play tetris with the books I’ve read just to get them all to fit 😂
Fantastic set of book ! A lot of bangers ! Also I totally agree on the brain thing. I totally get book fog on most things I read until I talk to people about them, and then suddenly as Celine Dion sang, It all comes back to me now haha :) For S.A Chakraborty it sadly doesnt pass hard mode because I think she's married into that culture (and was super interested in it growing up prior) however its something thats become part of her later in life.
That makes sense!! Thanks Ben ☺️
Oh man, 2023 was my worst reading year in regards to series, like, i only finished 3 of them: Glen Cook's Black Company: Books of the North - Huge miss with me. Pierce Brown's original Red Rising trilogy (re-read) - Hated the "twist" of the 3rd book even more on re-read. Sebastien De Castell's Greatcoats - A fun time. I did continue Dandelion Dynasty and Wall of Storms was one of my favourite books of last year and now, of all-time! Thankfully 2024 has already gotten off to a significantly better start which finishing Liveship Traders and almost finished Tawny Man and Dandelion Dynasty.
It’s all good, you are still making progress! Also hope you’re enjoying Liveship & Tawny Man because they’re both great ☺️
Lies of Locke Lamora doesn’t count b/c…well, you know. 😊
Actually who really knows? 😉
Hahah it remains a mystery!
I‘m so amazed by how many fantasy books you have read in a single year! I study literature and have a hard time reading fantasy books during the semester so my fantasy tbr just gets longer and longer 🥲
I completely relate!!! It wasn’t until I was finished with undergrad that I was really able to get back into reading fiction for fun
