That's purely epic that a truck that tall can have that low a center of gravity.
kamaz has won PAris-Dakar race (truck category) a record 8 times, including 2009, and has a lead in 2010 race going on now after 8'th part.

i saw this trucks in a places you may hardly imagine to see a wheeled vehicle. ruskies have a lot of remote towns, even cities at north siberia among swamps without access to highways or railroads. communities are supplied by these trucks using frozen rivers and creeks as a roads making 500 miles trips in an icy deserts with -50 cold. it takes about 40 minutes for a driver to turn to a frozen beef as soon as engine is off and they still using it. so i think it is reliable.
Powerful as hell sounds a little better.

it seems that the video's aspect ratio is incorrect it should be wider. besides all heavy components are places as low as possible

Tatras are good offroaders,but if you need a good offroad puller,then the KZKT-7428 or a MAZ-537 will do the job perfectly,thanks to the insane displacement,that their engines have.

I like this car. But just this one it is a special military variant.
The downside is that they are not comfortable to sit in at all. Driver position was an afterthought as it was designed to get men/supplies to the lines without regard to those driving it. Typically Russian which means mechanically simple and easy to work on.

A Hummer is useless compared to these in some situations. These trucks have much more clearance, axle articulation (a Hummer could not cope with what the first truck is doing) and payload capacity. Hummer is designed for a completely different set of design requirements.

as for 8x8 (and 10x10 and 12x12) india is using tatras and they are doing it for a reason... and as i see u claim to be from US, you maybe interested in fact, that us marines are about to buy tatras as well

I didnt suggest that you said "Kamaz sucks" but your still wrong about the "cant drive" someplaces, if a Tatra can go there the kamaz can surely go there too.
