  • The thing I like about this video is the sounds of nature and the actual events happening at the time instead of music playing in the background, an orchestra welling up at different times! I think that some people who go out in nature for the first time are surprised that there’s no background music!

  • There's a certain romance I get from the idea of camping in the wild with a hot stove tent. Right now, I'm living vicariously through these videos. The scene is always beautiful. Not much talking but talking welcome when it is. It looks peaceful. And there is a comfort I get from being prepared when I camp or do anything in life. And part of the appeal of camping for me is that mental game of chess I play against mother nature and me and my tools. There's nothing more rewarding and disappointing than the satisfaction of realising you have the right tool or gadget for the task at hand and disappointing when you realise you forgot a handy tool when out adventuring. Just seeing this man's pouch for his herbs and salts made me smile with that same sense of reward and satisfaction. That would be one thing I would be highly disappointed if I forgot to bring along. So simple, so small, yet it's those little things that make for a truly satisfying camping experience. 🙏

  • PRO TIP: Right around 7:51 in the video you guys are working real hard to baton some small logs, This is where a thicker blade makes a huge difference. Looks like the blades you're using are either 1/8" think or maybe 3/16", but you would not believe how much better it works with 1/4" thick blade, especially with some sort of saber grind rather than full flat. That extra thickness really help split the wood in a big way.

  • The narrow stove pipe on the small tent stoves suck in extreme conditions when it’s cold and rainy! The gunk builds up overnight from the cold rain and hot smoke and eventually crystallizes, making it impossible for a fire to burn without smoking you out of your tent. I learned the hard way during a week long elk hunt.

  • I just love that little stove. I can only imagine the massive amount of heat it throws out. I live alone and am relishing the day when I can go out and camp....to be even more alone :) There is something so fulfilling about camping and being able to provide a comfortable experience with minimal 'modern world' accessories. Of course flint rods and tent stoves make it easier, but you still have to get the firewood for it and maintain said fire. I could easily piss off into some crown land somewhere and live off-grid.....it's actually been a bit of a dream since I was a kid growing up in the wilderness of the northwest coast.

Btw, is that tent Mike has the new unreleased one from Pomoly you said you'll be testing in the future? Also last but not the least, is this new tent hotter or little bit colder with T1 Mini stove in comparison to classic Tipi tents from Pomoly like Hussar Solo? I suppose cone shape distributes heat little bit more evenly right?

  • Lonewolf 902. I did enjoy this. I must say, it’s been a very rare occasion of my life when I’ve gone camping for one sole night. Once In a while, there is a sanity-saving-overnighter, but usually a person wants to at least enjoy the entire weekend camping, or better if possible. It would appear that the vast majority of KZheadrs who do camping videos, go out in the woods for one night, and one night only. It seems to be the trend. I don’t know why a person would only go out in the woods for one night, if there’s an option at all. That’s not really a camping trip. They just seem to go out and set up a tent that’s probably a new tent, and a stove so everyone can see how nicely they work together, they eat some food which is generally in prepackaged format, from an outdoor specialty company, then after a night, they pack everything up and go home the next morning. It’s very rare when they stay out and have a normal camping trip. Unless the whole object of the trip is to sell products, provide a review, or earn camping gear that was sent to them to be reviewed, I don’t really understand. So, I enjoyed it, but it just felt like a paid promotion, and not like a real trip. Amongst the things that you did right, no music. Thank you for that. It was nice to be able to hear the ambient sound.

  • I feel bad for Mike, as it seems he always gets cold in the night. Yes, possibly a differant sleep pad. But also consider keeping the stove rolling a little longer then Jeremy does his. I have a Thermarest neopad and a mss bag, and I am not sure I could go through the night without a warmup. Great video still, you guys rock!

  • I'm learning a thing or two. I like this and plan to put this in my trunk. Travel and pull out of my car when visiting my relatives. I want to buy equipment one at a time. Thank you for the way you set in up. I like to try this.
