Good point. Years ago my shih tzu was sleeping on the couch like these guys. I was just messing w him w my face near his, I startled him I guess and he jumped up and bit me on the nose. He didn't mean to hurt me but I was bleeding. Nothing serious but he was a little thing. These guys r a different thing altogether. Without even realizing it they could do some irreparable damage.

I might agree that a sleeping dog might harm a little tyke if it is startled awake. BUT. I believe dogs have a special antenna and are aware of Surroundings. Plus it looks like these two have been thoroughly trained to keep this little one safe. This is a precious gift, a caretaker for her always

As one other person commented, the little girl leaned in and GENTLY hugged the dogs. And if you notice the dog on left was watching her as if wondering “is she gonna hug me” and BECAUSE SHE HUGGED IT GENTLY, the dogs enjoyed it so much, the one on left gave her a gentle boop or kiss. More than likely, those dogs are being raised WITH the little girl and WOULD MAUL ANYONE TRYING TO HARM HER!!! Lastly, Obviously, there’s a PARENT standing right there filming. I’m POSITIVE that parent would throw themself between the dogs and daughter to prevent harm to her. So, if you really think you know everyone’s dog, and everything about how their dogs were trained, maybe NEXT TIME you could just write, “Parents: always be sure to stay close when little ones are interacting with their pets.” instead of assuming the videographer isn’t smart enough. OBVIOUSLY, this parent IS!

Depends on the education of the dog... I have 4 big Dogs and none of them would ever bite me or other people if they got hugged while sleeping. You can't go trough live thinking everything is dangerous.
It is not a question of education of the dog but of education of the human. Never touch a dog without asking it for its consentment before, if it lays quiet. And never when it sleeps. It isn't being fearful but just being respectful of the dog. I am a well educated person but don't come annoy me when I am resting or by surprise, I could have instinctful bad reaction
