Putting a $20,000 Truck Lift To The Test!

2024 ж. 24 Ақп.
26 303 Рет қаралды

Hit the trails with us as we take our Tacomas head-to-head on the rugged Mottino Wash Trail! 🏔️💪 In this epic off-road trail, we test the bounds of performance between a Tacoma braced with portals on massive 39-inch tires against its counterpart equipped with a standard lift on agile 35-inch tires. 🚚💨
We encounter a moment when one of the trucks breaks a CV Axle! Will it be the giant on 39s or the lifted warrior on 35s? Watch as we push these Tacomas to their limits!

  • When I first watched this video I was in awe how the team changed the axle in the middle of the trail and I just had to watch it a second time, they worked fast and made it seem like such a small job!!

  • That’s some great content, was everyone regeared with front/rears locked? Trying to see what everyone’s setup was! Im debating a front locker because I also do not want to snap a CV axle.

    @scotchbrite1241@scotchbrite12412 ай бұрын
    • I can’t speak for everyone but I know most of them regeared when moving to bigger tires, some front lockers for sure

  • Man! As much as I want to invest into Over-landing, it’s hard for me to damage a $35k-50k truck. Not to mention snapping a UV joint, axel, rear differential damage.

    @ControlsEngineerOne@ControlsEngineerOne2 ай бұрын
    • Over landing/long distance car camping is much less likely to screw up a rig. Running moderate to hard trails with an overly heavy rig on the other hand is where the damage gets heavy.

  • That stuff is too rich for my blood. Spending $100K for the truck and buildouts and wrecking them on the trail for another $5-$10K….definitely would go with a first gen build

  • I understand the challenge of 'beating' the trail, but damn the price of 'success' is too high for me; you all must have some really 'deep' pockets to afford doing this shit!!!.... Also I love my truck, it's like my baby. I don't like seeing it get hurt!!!

    @xman870096@xman8700962 ай бұрын
    • For him it makes sense because he gets a video out of it and will make more than the cost to repair the damages. But for the other guys, yea they must be rich or something to afford that.

      @tylerh1648@tylerh16482 ай бұрын
    • These guys do all their own work they aren't rich. Some people enjoy the process of using the truck, finding its limits and breaking it, and then fixing it and making it even better.
