    • @@lovelylynx5473 The boning structure also helps to support the weight of the dress and gives it shape. Even layers upon layers of tulle would be quite heavy. The skirt looks kinda poor when standing still sometimes, but it succeeds at moving well during the dance as intended. My criticism would be designing the bodice. Otherwise it's a pretty good dress

    • @@jadecoolness101 it doesn't flow well, I've seen plenty, worn dresses like it, and I've made dresses before. In order to make the animated Belle dress you have to use a thicker fabric that's also longer, then you add details which are just as heavy. It's not stiff, but it's not flowy either. They wanted something light and would move with every step and turn, the animated one wouldn't

      @zoejacobs233@zoejacobs233 Жыл бұрын
    • @@zoejacobs233 Several people have speculated, that the reason Bell's dress in the live action is dull, is because Emma Watson refused to wear a corset due to "feminist" belief. That makes it hard to create a voluminous flowing dress as it is the corset, that carries the weight. Feminist in quotes because I don't consider a corset anti-feminism. They weren't made to restrict women, but had very practical purposes. Like carry the weight of a heavy dress, and for the common woman it served as a back support and bra.

Think Downton Abbey but smarter. She climbed mountains, rode motorbikes as well as horses, travelled the world several times, was an expert skydiver, skier, distance swimmer and learned to scuba dive aged 78. She was a natural phenomenon. She taught me everything she knew, I was on the back of a pony before I could walk. Within three days she had her 90th birthday, my mother her 60th and I my 30th. We celebrated by climbing Island Peak in Nepal. Even at ninety that woman had the lungs of a teenager. • I loveeeeee this dress, it is so stunning!!! Before I got married, a bridal shop near my house had a version of it. I was going to buy it in white. They sadly went bankrupt 2 months before I was going to order mine. I fell in love with it when I first saw it on Cinderella. I want to wear this dress all day and, play dress up lol.

  • Wow! I sew and know the patience and persistence it had to have taken for all the steps, especially all the ruffles, but I would not have the skills/knowledge to do an undertaking of this kind. Never tear or spill anything on that dress!!! She obviously knew what she was doing in the design because something that invovled can go very wrong in so many of the different steps and fabrics! Incredible! I know you have to see this in person to be able to truly see the real beauty of it. Pictures just are not able to do thinks like this true justice.

  • I hope someday this dress ends up in a museum. It really is that perfect. I love how you were able to mimic the movement of the dress in the animation version of Cinderella. I didn't think that would be possible, but you really did pull it off! My inner Disney princess little girl is crying over it. Lol

  • This made it all look like the process went so smoothly and easily😂 I still can't believe how incredible the result is. It looks so beautiful onscreen, it makes me wonder how they were able to edit/cut down the footage of every scene the dress is featured. I think I would've just made the whole movie the ball scene! The crystals are so striking but my favorite part is how the skirt really dances. It moves so beautifully.
