    • @MUFC if soccer will be #1 in the US and if the best athletes go there instead of the NBA and NFL, then the USA will win the world cup each time.

      @surfingtothestars@surfingtothestars3 жыл бұрын
    • @@surfingtothestars Soccer/football is a lot more than athletic ability and a lot less reliant on it. It is important but not the be all end all. The African countries mostly dominate the European countries when it comes to raw athleticism. Yet they never have a shot. The Europeans and south americans are so much ahead in terms of technical ability and tactical prowess that it isn't even fair to compare them. But if the US would start now to install youth programs like the Europeans and overhaul their league they could be one of the leading nations in three to four decades. Because they obviously could easily afford the infrastructure, they have the population and they have many natural athletes. Basketball athletes wouldn't fit but american football's could do it. If they have the talent and iq, which is a different thing. Adama Traore is basically a nfl player and much more athletic than basically any player in the top leagues and yet is far from being a star. Talent and intelligence is so important in soccer/football. You can't get by on physical abilities alone like you sometimes can in basketball and definitely can in american football.

  • "Why would I think about missing a shot I haven't taken yet?" That one sentence perfectly sums up a winning mentality...and this dude was just programmed that way.

    @jordanmiale1893@jordanmiale18933 жыл бұрын
    • Yeah, that's spot on. Some people just have that natural confidence without the neuroses -- what if I miss? can I make it? It's a gift. A lot of players are skilled. A lot players are athletic. But MJ was all of that plus the intangibles (hard work, confidence, heart, and will to win) which made him the GOAT.

In those six seasons he won 6 titles,6 finals mvps,6 scoring titles,6 all def 1st team and 4 reg season mvps. Lebron has 4 titles,4 finals mvps,1 scoring title,5 all def 1st team and 4 reg season mvps In 19 seasons. MJ did all that in just 6 years. Then when u add 80s MJ to that,it becomes comical.

    • Kobe took this philosophy and relabled it as the "Mamba Mentality" a lot of folks love Kobe, but I think he went to far in trespassing on Jordan's game and philosophy and labeling it as his own. Don't get me wrong you can copy the blue print but to then call it your blue print is wrong! Now to give Kobe credit. Although he copied Jordan's style, it's one thing to copy but it's another thing to make it work for you to the point you bring home 5 rings. He is definitely in top 10 based on prowess and skillset. people like Lebron and Bo Jackson are just pure freaks of nature. In my eyes, to be called a top 10 athlete you would need to excel or do decent in any sport on a professional level. Mj does literal wings tho he really could fly but that does not mean he could go into the ufc or play football.

Michael Jordan highest recorded vertical leap was 48 inches and was clocked by Dean Smith running a 40 yrd dash in 4.3 seconds. Lebron James was a freak of nature for his 18 years in the NBA, this era. But he was never on Michael Jordans level when it comes to being physically gifted. • Hes the GOAT period. He may not have the numbers now but he only played 13 years-ish and still left in his peime and still has that amount of stats. If hed have played for 20 years hed have stats that would be hard to achieve.. ohh and never lost a finals, was mvp of every finals and never went to a game 7 in any nba finals. GREATNESS.
