    • Will you be converting this into an electrolaser? Basically, dual high-intensity lasers create a pair of ionised chammels for the high intensity electric arc to travel down, like a wireless taser.

    • I've been working on a project that might be helpful when it comes to things like this. I'm ordering new parts because I melted my proof of concept through a bad ground connection 😅 but once I get my new gear I should be able to set it up for more appropriate testing. Once I get it stable I would enjoy your feedback.

    • What about using particulates in a stream for the charge to jump between, to extend the arc? Like salt, for instance, but set up so instead of an air-puff, each particle would be propelled via small rotating cylinders, and fed continuously? There's already little salt guns for indoor bug hunting - granted those do rely on pressurized gas. Maybe a test to see how viable it is could be done with a very fine tipped funnel and firing the arc into the top of the arc, and seeing if the charge flows at all.

    • 👽 Did you say you like shooting? I grew up on 10 acres so naturally I love shooting. And I've been dying to share this with someone who would actually understand it. A bullet has either a left hand or right hand spin. on the way up to its apex the air all around the bullet is essentially the same. But after the Apex gravity starts to take over and pull the bullet down. Now the air underneath the bullet is thicker than the air everywhere else. So depending on which twist the bullet has it will now roll that way. It doesn't start until after the Apex and the farther the bullet drops the more it happens because the bullets dropping faster gathering more are underneath of it and it will actually role in the direction it's spinning like it's rolling across the table from left to right. Not only do I love shooting I've read every book on it I could ever find and I've never seen anyone mention it.

  • Plasma Channel I have four suggestions. First of all it looks great and with that clear epoxy you have an opportunity to use some led lighting for a cool effect in that epoxy to show power is going through. Second, you want it to travel farther and straighter and you could use an infra red diode laser to ionize the air ahead of the discharge to get it to follow the beam, or even use a visible light beam, and reflect it off of a metal mirror, a flat spot polished on the bottom of the little sphere holding the pointy part. Third, an electron beam might ad some distance, thought it is rather complex to build a small one. Could you use a magnetic field to focus the discharge or would it just curve it around? Lastly a ducted fan blowing the air forward might extend the range and use stator blades to keep it from vortexing but travel straight. I hope these suggestions ring a bell in your head and you try some. Good luck on an already great job.

    • With enough energy density he could make something like this that would function like a stun gun over 20 meters or more You can get more expensive and much smaller caps etc to make something about this size that would be capable of doing so that only uses 9 to 12 volts dc. The problem is energy density of the battery. The best lipo right now is about 3500 ma per cell something around about 140 watts little less as that is for a single 18650 cell which is 3.7 volts To make it actually useful as a sort of non lethal weapon you would need many times that at 9 to 12 volts. Connected to an external power source from a wall you could do it pretty easy i would think

  • I genuinely need to get in touch with you after this video. I've been working on a MASSIVE project for 6 years now and was looking into a Cockroft and Walton generator for a high voltage discharge. This video about sums up what I need, but much larger...

  • I would love to see you do a Cold Plasma project. One really good use for a cheap Cold Plasma generator would be to pre treat low energy plastics to make them accept glue.
