  • I love that she acknowledges that being introverted doesn't mean you are not confident - a lot of people mistake introverts for always being shy or insecure but we just express our confidence differently

    @mckamy4711@mckamy47112 жыл бұрын
    • People always confused introversion with social anxiety or even social phobia. It's just when you like to be with yourself.

    • Absolutely. And as someone who is often introverted I had for a long time internalized that as a self-limiting belief that limited my own self-confidence (and it's still a belief in mind sometimes). I hope that her voice helped others find their confidence.

    • She’s the only female rapper that can be brought up as one of the best in the world and I think that’s maybe why people add in that she’s female because it’s a bit surprising to people who haven’t heard her because of the notion women can’t rap which she’s been fighting against for years. I’d say she’d have way more awards and success if she was a man because people won’t give her music a chance a lot of the time

    • He is Norwegian. Now has a collab with Sweden. He has been doing this for years(also doing cartoondrawings as a statement-thing). He is sort of The nordic Graham Norton. But trying/being «deeper» than that. Fredrik Skavlan is his name. You should check him out. Alot of his interwiews with famous people has felt like a homage/hug to those who where in his studio.

  • There are no problems with labels. We need labels. Labels are just a way to refer to things, it's what words are for. The name of the show is a label, the name Little Simz is a label, we need ways of referring to things, that's what labels are. Introverts, extroverts, these are things that exist, patterns that exist, traits that exist, and we need some way to refer to them, words are what we use to do that, labeling is just that. People don't mind labels, they mind being mislabeled. They don't like being put in a box that doesn't fit them. People do like labels though, and that shows when someone is properly labeled, because that's then called identity. Then we embrace the label and wear it as a badge. And as we should, that's what they're there for. But we shouldn't demonize labels as a whole. I don't even know what the alternative would be, just pointing to things?

  • Guest contradicts the hosts 'question' about 'it all being about perfection, wouldn't you say?" by saying "Ummm. I don't think it is important at all to me. It is the imperfections for me." She just told you she was raised on really classic music. Fela Kuti recorded his stuff live. It is full of imperfections. Host needs to level up for this lady. Host asks "why don't you want to be labeled as a female rapper?" Perhaps he specializes in these types of questions to raise up his guests. He's got great guests so I like the idea.
