    • The dust is not from the impact, the capsule has like thrusters that fire 2 or 1 m before it hits the ground. This is designed to take the speed down from 60 m/s to less than 2 m/s. If you see the video after its landed, you will see no depressed zones, so it actually landed quite smoothly.

    • If it's anything like the Soyuz system, which it appears to be copied from, most of the astronauts and cosmonauts say the landing feels like a mild car crash.

      @JeffreyBue_imtxsmoke@JeffreyBue_imtxsmoke21 күн бұрын
    • @@favesongslist How did you deduce that? Of course, they experienced wide changes in G-forces, going up and coming down. It goes with the job. But the effect is mitigated very much by the design of the different sub-systems, such as the parachute harnesses, the seats for the taikonauts, the suits, etc.

      @favesongslist@favesongslist21 күн бұрын
    • @@3d4u2cIncorrect. Shenzhou and Soyuz both have soft-landing motors that fire just above the ground to cushion the touchdown. This is what kicks up so much dust when these capsules land. These motors are separate from the thrusters used to control the capsule during reentry; I believe they are solid-fuelled.
