The ‘Mast Mast girl’ of Bollywood, Raveena Tandon set the screen on fire in the 1990s with her hit songs and movies. In a candid interview with Smita Prakash just days before being conferred with Padma Shri, Raveena Tandon opens up about her family life, her entry into Bollywood and her friends in the industry. She shares her experiences with adoption in her 20s and talks about the other causes that are close to her heart. She goes on to talk about her relationship with Akshay Kumar and how toxic entertainment magazines were during the 90s. Being someone who never shies away from speaking her mind she explains her views on nepotism and the cancel culture impacting Bollywood.

  • She is so expressive and well spoken. How naturally she answer and share her opinion on each topic. She is not just a pretty face but much more...she is much cooler than today's actresses. She sounds so mature and responsible.

    • Feralessly? Yesterday she was asked to comment on Modi BBC Documentary ban, she skipped the question and murmured something to the anchor on live telecast😂🤣 BJP stoog she is, why do you think she got a Padma Shri having little to no achievements? Also, fearlessless is when you talk with names - Does she have the gut to name Ajay Devgn Karishma Sushmita? A BIG NO. She can only talk like a gossip aunty on interviews like this.

And hats off to her humanitarian side......she looks even more preetier to me now that i know she adopted kids who were left to die. Much love and respect. Now i know why my girlfriend who now runs an NGO on Animal's wants to adopt children. I have to thank you 🙏🏼

Entire hall would start whistling and shouting at her entry. That song was like an item song. But she didn't look cheap at all. Very few women have this potential. Again she did Tu cheez badi hai mast mast which is even today criticized for its lyrics but Ravinaji never looked cheap in it. These days item song starts and you suddenly want to run away from the theatres. Girls should learn how to be classy and dignified from women like Ravina ji.

  • @44:08 it was sridevi who was called thunder thighs after the release of Himmatwala because she was curvaceous. Raveena was called jinx because until Mohra she did not give any hit. Dilwale was an average. But rest all were superflops. I like Raveena and thats why watched this long podcast. But her examples or take on nepotism was karan johar level. See, none of us are telling you to not to launch ur kids. But dnt keep forcing them on us for eternity. Uday chopra, tushar, ananya pandey, fardeen khan etc and many more kept doing films on films but neither those films were working nor they were good actors, but still only because of nepotism they lasted for decades. But thats not the case with an outsider. Dsnt matter how talented he or she is , first they rarely get chance and if the film flopped, then they are out. You cant compare nepo kids with doctors/lawyers kids. They literally study for 5-10 years even to get benefitted by their parents.

  • With due respect to actors, please invite those who have made a significant contribution to our country or have achieved something extra ordinary. I say this with no bias. They have several platforms to tell their stories of struggle & success, that are no doubt inspirational to many. We look forward to other achievers or influencers on your show. Both Aruna Iraniji and Raveena Tandon are my favorite actors. I agree that a few rotten apples shouldn’t be the reason for a complete boycott. It’s an industry that contributes to our economy in a big way and a huge source of employment. And, actors and other technicians work hard to earn success, wealth and fanfare. Having said that, Bollywood did need a wake up call!

  • She is so classy. A complete misfit in Bollywood. They wasted her in cheap songs. Her best and most classy pairing was with Dutt. No wonder she keeps mentioning him. They actually made a great pair.

    • Exactly. There are so many real life good people heroes to call in the podcast. Look at the way Raveena is saying Bad apples will be there. Why boycott bollywood? Shushant has yet not got justice, and so many criminal injustice is just Bad apples.

  • Starting from 11.27. It is karishma Kapoor and Ajay devagan. Raveena & karishma used to fight cats & dogs. She had also given a Hilary statement like Ajay & karishma s children will be like zebras. In fact even Manisha koirala had also said same about Ajay devgan he listens whatever his girlfriend karishma dictates him. Karishma was very jealous of her contemparies. She was even jealous of urmila

    • you’re right… I also was suspecting her being the jealous one, of when Raveena was talking about how the guy she was best paired with had a GF who hated her.. I too think it’s Karisma she’s talking about

  • She is quite intelligent talker. She talks well. I like her patriotic side. The very point you cant talk good about your country. Is problem today. Smita is doing good job as always. Become fond of these podcast interviews.

  • Remember seeing ravishing Raveena in a Breeze soap Ad for the very first time and it was refreshing to hear her speak candidly and articulate her expressions so well. Thanks Smita ji for this episode but, I would like to add that people are not against Nepotism in Hindi movies ,rather people are against the groupism and the mafia culture that has hampered the film industry. If ,we are so proud of our country then films that are demeaning our faiths, beliefs and culture should be condemned. Freedom of expression cannot encourage such acts . Bollywood has to correct itself , not the audience.
