When I hear the material 'Silk' I don't automatically think of 'speaker' But it sounds GOOD! Grab your Motion Boom Plus from Soundcore HERE: soundcore.club/JREMotionBoomPlus huge thanks to Soundcore for sponsoring this video. Honestly I didnt think Titanium would be a viable speaker component - but here we really are with the Motion Boom Plus from Soundcore. This buoyant water resistant portable sound system is also capable of pairing up with up to 100 other speakers at the same time. That would be a crazy party!

I have read a review on the german amazon from a guy who discovered a potential flaw caused by the buoyant design. He took it from indoors to outdoors on a hot day and noticed that the passive radiators bulged out completely. It is caused by the expansion of the air trapped inside due to the temperature increase. He stopped listening to music to avoid damaging the speakers from the inside. He backed it up by pictures too. It would be interesting to see that tested here with a brand new unit.
would definitely be interesting, I haven't heard of this from anyone myself. Honestly I can't see the air volume inside being enough to cause that otherwise coke bottles and the like would often pop. I feel its more likely he injected air though the rubber with a syringe or perhaps a battery cell has gone bad and let out some gasses.
@@axeami1354 when he took it back indoors, the passive radiators went back to normal, so it not the case. Regarding your bottle example: if you close a bottle filled with ambient air and cool it down it will contract precisely for the same reason I mentioned.
Check Oluv's gadgets (the channels' name) for this specific issue.
@@axeami1354 coke bottles are pretty strong. They can withstand multiple times atmospheric pressure.
@@axeami1354 yes because everyone has syringes with needles laying out around their house (junkies excluded)
As a sound engineer: Silk tweeters are pretty common on the audio industry, they *usually* are less harsh than metal ones and they have a more mellow sound to them. Ofc quality may vary that statement.
I love when ACTUAL experts chime into the comment section and give useful information to a bunch of jerks (including me lol). Thanks sir.
Yeah like They’re aren’t like super rare or smth Pretty common
@@divyam._.maheshwari trying my best :)
@@Varun_underyourspell16 they’re not, and there are tons of variations. Some better than others. But i must admit it’s unusual on portable speakers. Not that I’m a portable speaker expert either, but aluminum tweeters sound like s better option for endurance, water contact and stuff
@@brandonchutt312 I'm not an engineer, only an audio enthusiast and honestly if you're in the market for good sound cancelling headphones Bose and Apple do it the best right now. Bose has better sound cancelling but Apple's headphones sound better. Although I've heard of some reliability problems with Apple. And their case is stupid. I'd go with the Bose personally. But I'm not a huge headphone guy. I'm more into speakers.
Man I would love it if this "Partycast" was an open standard, so all speakers could link up and place nice.
Yeah, sadly every manufacturer made their own party link standard. I wish they all had aux out so you could just link them manually.
@@marsrover001 jbl partybox's allow you to do that and Sony's gtk speakers to

Soundcore does indeed have pretty good speakers. I've been using one I got from prom a couple years ago and it is sick
This rugged speaker is specially made for your personality 🔥👍🏻

I have tried many speakers but these are simply the best. The equalizer function allows for customization. Simply recommendable !
I absolutely love soundcore products. A respectable price point for guaranteed quality. They have not done me wrong yet!
I can't wait for ROG 6 Pro soon 😈
Same 🤩
I got this speaker couple weeks ago, seeing Zack, aka Jerry, review and approve it, makes me feel even better about the decision to get it in the first place. Listening to the review on mine is even more satisfying.
I got the soundcore select pro for a float trip this weekend and it survived sand, being splashed by water, the heat and also was able to charge my phone. Sounded great and gets very loud. Would recommend. I thought what I bought was what he reviewed but it was not. Still a good product.
I've got a few different Soundcore headphones and a speaker (Rave Neo) and I've been really happy with the quality of all of them. I've been thinking about getting this one, too. Great video!
Thanks for the info, will buy this as it is useful.
Thanks for filming
The video boost my satisfaction buying this speaker,, thx a lot man
Anker is the only brand I trust for chargers and power banks, I love my soundcore motion+ speaker as well. Anker is forever goated for aftermarket accessories in my opinion.
And to add, their Eufy brand line of electronic security door locks & cameras are some of the best on the market currently, and with no subscription fees needed, but optional with no loss of features. 👍🏻
Well, i may had bad luck, but out of 2 anker dongles i got, 2 sucked hard... I got two different models, in different stores, several months apart. And one even gave a finantial loss. The power expand+ 5 in 1 (a8338) heats like hell if i plug more than 1 port. Like ethernet and hdmi, or ethernet and usb, or usb and hdmi. It drains my macbook m1 battery like crazy, same for my asus flow x13. It kinda works tho, but i don't like using it and risking damaging my usb-c ports. The power expand+ 8 with PD (a8380) was the worst. It's ethernet disconnects every few minutes, sometimes doesnt comeback even disconnecting the hub. It fails often to passthrough the charging to the laptop, and it's hdmi is flaky at best, with it usually messing up the resolution (the resolution is right but it centers the image in the screen and compresses it and destroys the quality). This happens in any laptop i use it in. In my mac i was never able to use hdmi and charging at the same time. And this one KILLED my working laptop, it wouldn't charge anymore, even without the hub, i got it replaced thankfully, but it burned the charging circuit.
They make pretty decent cameras and vacuums too with their Eufy sub brand
I got the soundcore 3, amazing thing
To chime in, Soundcore Liberty 3 Pro have to be one of the better purchases of my life.
Wow... the quality of the speakers really impressed me, I will love to have that in my mini shop.lol.😎👍
Just placed my order on Amazon black Friday deals 😊great work dissecting this bad ass speaker Jerry 👍
Worth the buy for sure. Impressive innards.
So nice, looks and sounds amazing
Jerry should do these kind of video often gadgets other than phone I love to see how every thing work and build.
Well, the rugged bits are not the silk parts, but you already knew that 😉 Silk dome tweeters are known for clarity without harshness and have been around for a while. I have them in my 11 speaker system in the car, and they make close proximity speakers more enjoyable 😊
Depends on the tuning, this speaker is harsh actually
@@ThibautMahringer not in person
@@sorawisdom6516 I own it, it would even say the opposite, it's less hearable in videos. It does have a 6khz peak that make it harsh, and even Custom EQ can't solve it.
11 speaker system🤣 Yeah.. If you count all drivers individualy like they often do in cars. 1 tweeter + mid + woofer acts as 1 speaker but consists of 3 drivers. But a silk dome tweeter can also sound very harsh and metal domes can sound smooth etc. It avtually all depends on ALOT of factors like tuning, dampening and MUCH more.. So there is no rule for that..
@@Oystein87 Thanks for saying that. It's always down to the tuning and always will
This brand has some serious engineers who are putting out great quality products at very competitive prices.
It's a Bluetooth speaker, dude. It's nothing groundbreaking.

Now that is freaking incredible, great video Zack 👍🏼👍🏼🇦🇺🇦🇺🦘🦘Cheers from Melbourne Australia
I don't need any speakers, but props to them for not using a pound of glue to hold everything together like most manufacturers do these days.
i like the custom physical EQ u applied to the right speaker dome...

I use soundcore headphones for about a year and they are awesome and very well tuned
Nice! Even i have Anker Soundcore headphones nd i love em!!
Love the Anker Soundcore products. Still rocking my Soundcore2 from 3 years ago. Also, nice to see even that more modern big speaker still has an aux port. ^u^
Love my soundcore Q10 as well, anker is underrated generally for their products, which happens to be really well made and quality actually.
I use my Soundcore 2 at work every day. They messed up our radio in the kitchen area of our restaurant so we went a long time without music and that's not okay, so I picked one up thinking it would be loud enough to hear at least at my station. Nope, it fills our entire server aisle at around 80% volume and we use it almost all week before it needs charged again. Oh, and it sounds amazing. I was debating getting one of these Boom pro models for larger outdoor gatherings and floats, this video pretty much confirmed it.
@@georgie2133 well, they sell pretty cheap stuff, and you can hear it.

I've loved these since they came out especially for the price because of this vid lots of these are definitely going to sell
Great speaker
That’s awesome!! Thanks for the review as I was curious about these. Could you by chance review the Altec Lansing line of speakers? Their lifejacket is probably the most popular. I’d venture to say they’re more durable than the Soundcore as far as drop protection and such. Their drivers aren’t titanium but I’m not sure how much that helps when they’re covered by the grill.
I have had two Jawbone Big jambox the first one lasted years tell I dropped it. My second one works great but this one sounds great 👍!
Great sound 👍🏻
I got #1 i love it and its awesome 👏🏽 trust jerry 💯
Looks like it's built well and I can only guess that it sounds good. Little difficult to gauge that through a youtube video.

It definitely sounds nice! Have not liked a lot of their products! Wonder if they are finally trying to improve what the put out!
I have the Motion Boom, great speaker and cheap too. You can find it for 90-100 bucks and it's way louder than speakers double and triple it's price. I'll have to check this new model out.
kudos for synchronizing speakers... its such an obvious benefit, if its done right... 150 buck seems fair.
Wow, one of my favourite speakers and brand (Anker/Soundcore) when it comes to their earphones, headphones and speakers I always go and buy their products (I own two of their headphones, speakers soundcore motion boom etc)
Well Jerry I was pretty surprised to see a Speaker on your channel as well. But I was wondering if the woffers were actually made out of titanium and especially silk tweeters since people were starting to call it plastic titanium look woffers. For the price this speaker is very impressive beating out much more expensive speakers with a custom EQ. I still haven't reviewed this speaker for myself but there are 2 main problems going on with the Boom plus the main issue is when this speaker is exposed to the sun and warm to hot conditions the passive raditors bulge out and lots of distortion will occur until you place it back inside or cool it off. Second it has a peak at 6KHz which makes the music sound pretty harsh at higher volumes. Soundcore is already on these 2 issues so for people wanting to buy this speaker I would wait a bit. Great teardown Jerry keep up the work👍
Mmm if that is so I would recommend people buy the JBL rugged bluetooth speakers instead as they have non of these problems (comes in many different sizes and works great if you buy 2 to run them in wide field of sound stereo)
Lol I'm a reviewer bro but Soundcore has reached out to me and also said the hot air issue is no longer a problem so I'm going to test it and see if that is true
My favorite the fact it can float down a river. And still sound this good is ridiculous
Hey bro watching all the way from Trinidad 🇹🇹
