What a weird comment from Dustin. The current champion of the division publicly says he'll give him the next shot at the title, with zero shade or negativity involved. What goes through Dustin's head that makes him think the proper, or correct response is, "I've done more in this sport than he has." I like Dustin, but sometimes he's just so arrogant, and ignorant. Islam has the belt, and has defended it twice now, while Dustin has never had it.
Islam said Dustin does not deserve the title shot, and is basically only willing to fight him because there is no one else available to fight him since all the other contenders are booked. That doesn't sound like there is no shade or negativity there.
How is he arrogant? Islam said there is no one else, and that Dustin doesn't deserve the title shot. He is not wrong when he says he has done more IN THIS SPORT than Islam. Islam might have that championship but Dustin has been fighting in the UFC since the start and still beating people.

Not sure. I think Poirier did good, to my surprise, against BSD who is a very good grappler. I know Islam is not BSD but Poirier's defense in that fight somehow gives me some hope for an upset. Remember the last two fights for the belt, he came close of KO to Oliveira and even Nurmagomedov. If he can survive submission, Poirier can KO anyone in this category.
