Once in a life time experience...The last day before returning home this huge iceberg cracked right in front us.
We were quite baffled so please disregard the at times stupid commentary ;-)
This video was shot at the same time near the water: • Large Iceberg Breaking...

The thickness of that Ice when it actually tipped over...! 😲
"Fuck", the international word :)
Along with "okay" and "wow." Everyone seems to say them.
"Fuck" is not really international.
Yes. And Tsunami.
Incredible footage. Been on an iceberg/glacier rabbit-hole and went my whole life living near these things, but never fully appreciated how amazing they are.
Can you imagine having to call in to work bc you're surrounded by icebergs? That could use up your vacation days.
That damn squirrel
😂😂😂😂 classic
😂 😂 😂 😂
HAHAHAHAHAHHAHAHAHAHAHAHA
I can hear voices bugger who needs them haaaaa
😂
I don't know how it all seems to happen both so quickly and so slowly at the exact same time. Just the sheer scale of things, I guess. Super impressive to see, nice video!
To me it looks like a piece of ice thats like 600 x 200 feet !
Perfect phrasing!!!!
That is probably the most impressive video I have ever seen, you must feel privileged to have witnessed it. I'm glad the other guy filming was OK. Many thanks for uploading.

I legit would shit my pants .......
Very nice
the other guy uploaded it too and it was so frustrating to watch. While it was understandable that he ditched, he moved the camera in the most interesting moments.
I don't know whether I should be delighted or affronted that you guys swore in english!!!! Actually, I just laughed and swore with you ... in english!!!! I'm SO jealous that you got to see that happen right in fron of you. Thank You so much for sharing it.
It's funny how all the holy shits and F bombs pretty much sound the same in any language!
The sheer scale of it is both astonishing and humbling. Thank you for sharing !
Awesome video, I find that the iceberg trying to find it's center of gravity is more interesting than the actual calving process itself
It's in greenland

Simple-minded analysis. Typical of KZhead commenters.
Calving is really amazing
The iceberg is alive
OMG I don't think I've seen any video of an iceberg bigger than this. It's HUGE!! Thanks for sharing.
And to think of it, ~90% of it is hidden...
Magnificent front seat to Nature’s journey! Thank you! 👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻
2:04 . . . Internationally understood. . . Sums up the experience perfectly!
Wow that was amazing footage, thank you for sharing. You must be proud to witness such a break and adjustment, glad you both were safe.🌞
An astonishing capture! Thank you for sharing this amazing piece of nature.
Amazing. Thank you for posting this. I followed the link from the other fellow who recorded it lower down. The sheer mass of that iceblock is truly amazing, that it's been frozen for hundreds of thousands of years, and now is under the sun light. It really boggles the mind. Awesome.
+C Steele Me too.
msnsjsja wig kwjvmw me lol
Me too😂
that video is so god damn frustrating
This ice doesn't need to be so old. Did you know that only 6.000 years ago there were no glaciers on the main land of Norway? While only 18.000 years ago there was so much ice on the poles that the north sea didn't even existed? The water level was 122m lower than it is now. Sea levels rise and fall rapidly all the time. It's a big misconception that all the glaciers are still from the last ice age hundreds of thousands of years ago. . But sssttt... Don't mention it. People might take the global warming story less serious if the knew 😉
Off the charts, perfect day, perfect weather,a massive chunk of icesheet breaks off right in front of your very eyes!Front row seats to natures masterclass of entertainment!!Wow,cheers n thanks for the incredible footage!
Absolutely INCREDIBLE , to be there at that moment must have felt euphoric , better than any movie I have ever seen , would love to see this in a movie theater with surround sound and a huge screen ! 😃
It's absolutely mind-blowing, amazing how much ice is under the waters!!!!

Amazing capture and experience! I only understood 4 words of the entire commentary...and in those 4 words you described the video perfectly lol.

Your friend was very lucky to make it out of there. In his video's comment sections people are upset for him missing the ultimate moment. That shit is crazy
there is a guy somewhere down the hill from you who was filming at the time however, about at the middle point or right when it was starting to get good he turns around and runs for higher ground and completely misses the entire thing. it was the most frusrtating videos ive ever seen lol thank you for recording this and letting me see it in its length
Just stunning. And all in under 3 minutes. Amazing how thick that ice is and how old it must be!
6k years
This is one of my favorite break and flip videos just incredible.
That was BAAAD ASSSS! Excellently shot too! Watching this shows you how awful even the best CGI effects are. It was almost too much to take in all at once. Again you did a great job Mr. Stephano Sphielborgen!
Fantastic. Thank you for sharing and not running away ! Wish I was there to feel the power that could be heard in your voices.
😂 Yeah, there's another of these calving videos from another source, who exaggerated and overreacted to the nonexistent danger they apparently assumed they were in! The funny thing is that they were darn near twice as high above the water line as ^they were, and further from the edge too. Also they were watching a smaller, less significant calving event. But yet they kinda freaked out and forgot all about capturing the video! Instead, the guy starts running uphill as if his life depended on it, while flailing the camera around. They looked to be at least 100-150 feet(30-45m) above the water line, and at least 300-400 feet(100-125m) from the edge of the water, and the highest waves wouldnt have exceeded 15-20 feet(4.5 - 6m) in height! 😁
the ENORMOUS forces at work here - the masses, volumes of ice and water being shifted - incredible...
Thank you for sharing! Not the kind of thing you get to see everyday!!!
This is CRAZY! One of the coolest things I've ever watched. Thanks for posting!
Very well filmed. You were so lucky to see that live and we are so lucky that you were there to capture it so beautifully for us. Thank You !!
Excellent. Thanks for showing the ripples in the water.
Awesome video, thank-you for remaining composed and focused during the whole thing, most would probably have gotten overexcited and screwed up the capture, many would have felt the need to zoom way in and miss the whole panoramic scene.. great work.
Thank you for this!! Tired of all the touristy ones with a bunch of people shouting so you cant hear the bittersweet sound from that ice calving. Again thank you so very much.
You are so right. One video a guy say "well it had to happen sometime" Thank you Walter Cronkite for that spot on commentary.
This is amazing! Lucky you, and lucky for all the rest of us that you were there camera in hand.
Woooow so awesome. I always wanted to see what more was hiding under water. Then it flipped over and shows us just how deep it was sitting in the water!
The power and grandure of our world is incredible Reminder of how small we are
Grandeur
This is stunning, amazing, beautiful and unbelievable. Tx for uploading. Das sieht atemberaubend aus. Wunderschön. Tolle Bildqualität
The universal exclamation! Beautifully done upload, my friend. 👍🇺🇸
amazing. incredible something so big can actually move so fast.relative to its size.great video.
Fantastisk optagelse for jer der filmer og sikken en oplevelse. :-)
Holy crap. That looks like a depth thickness of at least 300 meters.
yes. At the mouth of the Icefjord that is the depth, and behind that its down to 1500 meters
Was für ein Glück das man es so etwas sehen darf...Live
Thank you for sharing this truly awesome video ! Sadly I will never be able to afford to witness such a powerful event in person....
Nothing in the rest of the vacation is going to top that. Beautiful!
i like how they are speaking their language but for the cursing they used english- only the best haha
lol exactly what I thought. I was gonna say OH MY F*CKING GOD is the same in any laungage. LOL
We do use fuck and shit a lot when swearing in Denmark. We even say piss when swearing but it's a Danish word as well as English. We do though spell it with one s instead of two.
So they speak fluently in a foreign language and when they curse they speak fluently in English? What Gives?
They are cursing in their native language too, English just stole those words back in the times of Danelaw.
Me too......That was funny.
Best one I've seen yet !)D. Very fortunate to have caught this on Camera 📷 Good Going 👍🥰👌
Absolutely AWESOME!!!.... To witness something like this is a treasured memory and thank you so much for sharing such an amazing spectacular. I'm left in awe. Big thumbs up 👍🏼👍🏼👍🏼
IN MY VIEW Watching these GIANT icebergs break off and then give us a spectacular show is like watching a true Wonder of the World.
I'm amazed at how deep in the water the ice sits .. and how deceptively big it is!!
Wow that is the best one i have ever seen. Just the sheer scale of it is jaw droppingly amazing to see.
Thankyou for sharing this with us all, that was outstanding!
That was awesome, thank you for sharing
If you didn't see it with your own eyes, simply unbelievable.
I love that he is speaking his native language, then when the iceberg flips, OH MY F*CKING GOD! 🤣
Later on he also seems to speak german! 2:25 "Da kommt ein Tsunami"
Very impressive. We all know things like this happen. But to witness it live, awesome! 👍😎
Fantastic footage..how great and powerfull is nature, in front of our tiny human eyes...
That was one big chunk of ice. Awesome video. Thanks for posting it
Incredible. And great camera work also. Thankyou...
there are probably very few people who have seen something similar to this. extremely cool
What an awesome video you filmed!😮
Insane!!! Thanks so much for sharing!
Tusind tak fordi I delte dette øjeblik, det må ha været en kæmpe oplevelse. Ingen grund til at undskylde for noget! Vh Tomas
vous avez eu la chance d'être là....les images sont belles et c'est dramatique.....
WOW... That was incredible. Thanks for sharing !
Neat watching something so massive moving around. Super cool!
Best calving video I have ever seen! Thanks for sharing!
I had to laugh 😂 the narration is in a language quite foreign to me but when it flipped 🤣🤣 that was perfect English 😂 and the exact same reaction I had. Thank you for sharing this with us. That was so cool 👍🏼
Millions of tons moved effortlessly
this is awesome in person, the sound is incredible! 💗😸
This also shows how deep these glaciers have carved. That's not that far from the land but it's very deep
This is so interesting! Thank you for sharing.
Amazing. Look how deep that ice is. Thanks for sharing
Wow... makes you wonder how deep the lake is
The fjord (sea) itself is 12-1500 meters deep, but the icebergs strand at the mouth where its only a few hundred meters deep
Thank you for sharing this amazing event.
Great video, thanks for posting.
That was so cool you guys! Thank you.
What an Awesome site I would love to see something like that in person but I'll have to settle for videos like this one ! Thanks for sharing !
This is great. I'm so happy you got the whole thing, as I had seen the other guy's video and it was interrupted at the crucial moment, as he ran for his life! It was difficult to judge the scale until I saw the man at 3:16. I thought maybe the wave was a metre or so, but now I realise that it was three or four metres. Well done for being in the right place at the right time! I hope you don't mind, but I left a comment on the other man's video with a link to this one, as quite a few people were frustrated at him missing the best bits and there wasn't a link to this video. OK?
Appreciate it - thanks Sal 👍
Holy cow when I watched the other video I actually yelled at the screen. Why exactly couldn't he help filming the action while he was moving. I think he was looking at the screen while running. Very frustrating.
It is crazy that it did not hit the bottom when it rolled over even though it is relatively close to land. There must be a huge drop off out there.
Wow.. wow.... Awesome!! I wish the video went longer..... How amazing to witness that.. :)
That is some amazing footage right there! It's funny how amazement translates the same in any language... OMFG!!!
I had to watch it twice because I got fascinated by the lightning in the distant clouds.

Oliver Stocks 😂😂
That reminded me of a very old, very silly, very politically incorrect joke ... but I'll tell it anyway ... So there's this German girl who was being raped by 12 Irishmen, and she's calling out, "Nein! Nein! Nein!" ... So 3 of them left ......
Jeans "no" in Herman guys No no no Eine magtigste video... velen danke! Baie dankie
I read your comment in the beginning of the video.. At about 2:17, i heard it 😂😂😂😂

Remarkable! So huge it was hard to comprehend what I was actually seeing
For once there wasn't any stupid screaming. Thanks guys. I thoroughly enjoyed your video. 👍🐨🐨👍👍🇦🇺🇦🇺🇦🇺🦘
This ice burg did more than crack. It did a flip flop and roll. Thanks for sharing this video with us.
nature is the most beautiful and the most epic
This is just an amazing place to visit or anywhere with glaciers for that matter
This is really an awesome and beautiful planet, isn't it?
absolutely surreal. I am so jealous. It must have been like a movie for you
well done - this is great video!
Fantastic video.
Positively one of the coolest, most awesome, jaw-dropping video ever!!
Danish - not German. We tend to swear in english - we get it from american crab movies
I mean they always say like 90% is under water, but man watching them flip really gives you a good prospective of it.
Great camera work - stayed steady on the target.
Yep " the money shot" brother! Well done dro greetings from GREECE
Wow..asombroso!!!! Qué momento impresionante, qué vista y qué sonido conmovedores!!
I was at the same point just a week ago. beautiful place .anks for the video
One of the most incredible things I have ever seen.. wow!
This is where the iceberg that RMS Titanic hit originated from. During that unusual warm year of 1912, that berg along with hundreds of others travelled down the Arctic and into the Atlantic
