  • I usually don't watch videos about people struggling to lose weight. However, your videos are very different, you are an endurance athlete losing weight along the way. Many fit people have never run 100k or finished a marathon. Your story is unique, your editing is brilliant and I disagree with your daughters, the narration throughout the videos is compelling and likable. I only hope you don't get hurt or burned out in the process. I guess you are a fitness KZheadr already and in no time you would be over 100k subscribers. I love your content and watched all of your videos. Keep it up.

    • Wow thank you sir! I appreciate that comment. I don't see myself as a fitness KZheadr or athlete. I do enjoy a proper hard challenge as I enjoy the feeling of achieving something I never thought possible. I don't think Ill burn out as I enjoy it too much, like forest Gump said... I sleep when Im tired, I eat when Im hungry... Im pleased you enjoyed the video and thanks for commenting. 🙌

Especially in having a job to deal with too, there are full time ‘fitness influencer’ KZheadrs who couldn’t even do 1/4 of this let alone the whole thing. • Loved this video. I recently did Quatch Quest for the first time. I have ridden up Alpe de Zwift 35 times… but never with Epic KOM before it. So your internal struggle each of the 3 times was so relatable. The Alpe becomes a different beast with tired legs. Good on you for trying again. I tried Four Horseman as a race once and they put the finish line banner half way up Alpe. Without the finish banner at the top of Alpe I quit then and there. Everything hurt. There was no endurance left in my body. Super inspiring watching you push through that!!! Congrats!!

    • @@RyanCondon there is a mountain in Vancouver, Mount Seymour, which is 11.5km with half as many switchbacks but same elevation as Alpe de Zwift. I keep coming back to Alpe, as even before Zwift, I wanted sub 60 minutes on Seymour. Hope to get it this year. Easier to motivate myself to get on the virtual mountain when the ride feels relevant to IRL. However the ride itself never gets easier.

  • Amazing work Ryan, The Four Horsemen are a hard route. But you did it and that`s what its all about. You endured the pain, you learned the hard way that these hard courses takes time and a massive effort. I remember my first attempt at Four Horsemen and it was brutal, I was as broken as you where. But here I am 3 years later and I`ve now biked over 20000km this year alone so far. So just stay strong, do the work, never ever give up. If you fail sometimes just get back on the horse and try again until you reach that destination or goal you have set for yourself :) Remember nothing is impossible, the impossible just takes a bit longer time to do :) All the best from Norway.

Huge respect just for even getting back into it a third time, let alone completing it. I actually fan-viewed you on the third time and wondered what madness you were in the middle of. You were halfway up the Alpe and I could see you'd already done 40 something km. Big respect, mate. How are you finding the pedals and shoes? No matter the level you know the riders are going balls to the wall. That win will come. You are at a disadvantage though weighing 100kg. Most riders in all cats are 90kg or lighter. You are dragging an extra 10kg around. That’s like having a cheap road bike strapped to your back. That weight will come off and your legs will be all the stronger for it. I do wonder how easy that watt bike of yours is to race on. My wahoo Kickr is being powered by a beautiful road bike, Dura Ace drive train and ceramic crank bearings. Just keep going. That win is only seconds away.

    • I did my first 100km zwift ride at around 95kg in one of the cycle nation weekend endurance group rides. they run D category between 1.8 and 2 watts per kilo, and its normally on a pretty flat route so its a great way to spin the legs in a big group. I havent done 4 hourseman yet, but I did one of the other long ones that ends on the alpe.

    • Out of interest why is it worse in your opinion than the watt bike? Is it less accurate ?

      @josephwyatt738@josephwyatt7386 ай бұрын
    • @@josephwyatt738 nothing beats the feel of sitting on a real bike. The wahoo kickr will provide a more reliable connection and is more accurate. It will allow for steeper gradients and the processing of higher watts. The flywheel will make it feel more like you're on the road on a real bike. Add a good rocker plate under the setup and welcome to the next level of indoor cycling.
