Best Shop Vac? Ridgid vs Shop Vac, DeWalt, Stanley, Hart, Craftsman

2020 ж. 30 Там.
2 393 145 Рет қаралды

SHOP VACS TESTED: Ridgid, Craftsman, Shop Vac, Bauer, DeWalt, Hart, and Stanley tested for horsepower, air speed, suction and noise level. Testing also included speed of vacuuming 5 gallons of water and 50 pounds of sand. Total water holding capacity also measured for each brand. Finally, each brand participated in a "grudge" match when the suction hoses were joined together. Hope you enjoy the video and thank you for supporting the channel. Best regards, Todd

    • Corporate America and China both use the consumers for quality control testing, some of the American corporations will generally make up for the problem if you will just call customer service which I do quite often. Forty years ago we had no need of QC as many of the workers were responsible for good quality, Corporate America and China sure took care of that !

    • So many, especially nowadays, are just spec sheets side by side, where a simple program could (and definitely does in some cases) just write the comparisons. PF actually shows everything and doesn't pick a clear winner most of the time, it actually gives you real world info and compares them in a useful manner. And any company is going to just focus on making the box specs look good, as evidenced by some of these vacuums having higher PHP, but drawing much less power, meaning they're doing less actual work.

How can you beat a lifetime warranty on their tools. I love their 18volt power tools as well; also backed by lifetime warranty including the lithium batteries. But I am glad to see an impressive comparison test. Wow!

  • You said that a company standing behind their product is important and I couldn't agree more. But a warranty on paper doesn't mean anything if it isn't backed up in the real world. So, here is another video idea. Test the warranties from the big brands. Can you go in store, or do you have to ship off to a service center? Who pays for shipping? What kind of wait to have the tool repaired or replaced? You could even test the big stores extended warranties and see if they are worth anything. ie. Does Harbor Freight really stand behind their "Extended Service Plan"?

    • I agree, I have bought products from big-name "high end" brands that have claimed lifetime warranties, only to be slighted by their warranty refusal after normal wear and tear. I typically try to buy a product that I think is a good balance of value and quality out of the box, and I imagine how long it may last me for the money spent, regardless of warranty promises.

Asda is pretty much food & grocery only, whereas Wallmart is everything and even sometimes contains _other_ shops! Where else can you get a sandwich, a TV, a bite from KFC, a really powerful vacuum, and *still* be able to go a few isles over and buy a *gun AND ammo* for said gun. And if Covid hadn't happened when it did, Wallmart likely wouldn't own a _majority_ share in Asda. They don't fully own Asda, they just own _more_ of it than anyone else right now.

One thing I thought about when you were doing the pull-down suction/weight test with the rubber ball would be to change the diameter of the ball so each hose size has the same 'mating ratio'. So that the mating surfaces between the hose and ball are as identical as possible (ie, if one hose was only 0.500" it wouldn't have nearly the suction-area as a hose that was barely-smaller than the diameter of the ball). Definitely loving the vids :)

The time spent editing and arranging all of the footage into the final product alone is more than note worthy. The narration itself is an entire additional step which I am pretty sure is not a one take effort. Here is where I lose a lot of people. lol If you were to go to a "pay to view" format, I would not hesitate to pay. Because in the end, all videos are WELL produced. And all data is as accurate as humanly possible at all times. Never is there a hidden string holding something together making it work. What you see IS how it is. And at the end of the day, I respect honesty and intellect. Seriously, very well done. I honestly feel you are going to obtain undeniable fame the nation over which spreads way beyond youtube. How far you go is up to you. But many of us will be right there supporting you the entire trip. • @@Number1fanofcaptain Allow me a moment to inquire about your membership. I mean, since you took the time to try to tell another what to do and all. You misunderstand what I meant by pay to view. I would rather not have a third party putting their hands out if I am trying to donate to an individual. I support Project Farm, not patreon employees. If they want my support, perhaps they should start their own channel and upload interesting and very useful content. Until then, my avoidance of patreon has its reasons. When society calms back down and work picks back up in full swing, I'll make my move. For now, things are a bit tight due to our shoddy public spokesperson somehow being able to dumb down the masses enough to refuse to comply with health safety rules, thus lengthening the amount of time people have to socially separate, and extending the amount of time people are laid off from work.

    • @@theduder2617 Then, as you wrote almost a book when you comment anyway, you should have used some of your writing to actually say what you meant. Also, if he goes "pay to view ", many of us wouldn't be able to watch because, you know, so much unemployment and a very unstable economy. Even without the pandemic some of us may not be able to justify paying for things like this. At the end, they are doing it for their own reasons and helping all of us by doing it, so you, mr reach, don't kill it for all of us.

  • I just wanted to say thank you so much for that video. I have a rigid vacuum with a lifetime warranty and watching your video. You reminded me that they do have a lifetime warranty without this video. I would not have been able to bring the vacuum back to Home Depot and get a brand new one. This next vacuum is on Home Depot, thank you so much for the video

  • Hey Todd, could you please think about doing a refresher on this subject? After 3 years, it'd be advantageous to create a new review video, considering wet/dry vacuums' new and improved models.
