It's a great point, so many people seem to have this ridiculously bizarre belief that if a problem is incapable of wiping out every last living species on Earth then it's nothing at all to worry about. Sweden an example of a country doing well? Sweden WAS doing great. We had 50% nuclear power, 50 % hydropower. Now we’re moving to renewables, closing nuclear, and firing up fossil back up power plants that have been idle since the 80’s, because the grid has simply become too unstable due to wind power. Our emissions are on the rise.
Two steps forward, one step back. You’ll get there. No one has even tried just reducing usage yet. We probably don’t need half of the energy we use anyway.
It's just unstable if you don't build storages

A key question is not addressed in this video: who are the main polluters and what is their plan to cut pollution. You talk about democratic governments, private companies and individuals, great, they all have a responsibility and should actively work towards improving the situation. But we all know that the big polluters are not in these groups, we know they are doing very little (nothing, really) and you don’t even mention them.
>Who should fix climate change? Nobody
To every country a different solution is required. When one body of government finds a solution to the global problems. That doesn't mean others can do the same thing (copy and paste). Whether or not someone or something is responsible, depends on each individual country. And when those responsible aren't doing there job it's up to the other side of the coin to push that change. But of course it's not that simple. this is just a generalized statement that needs more specification. Kinda like how every country has to specify there own problems and standings within the globalsphere [and within their own sphere].

Unfortunately co2 is not the culprit water is. Despite all that has been done to reduce co2 the temperature is still rising. The amount of water in the atmosphere is also rising because the oceans are warming so more evaporation is taking place putting more water into the atmosphere causing more warming. Perhaps we could reduce the co2 in the atmosphere but it will have little effect. The sun will continue warming the oceans so the warming will continue albeit slower than predicted.
Introduce a carbon tax, stop subsidising fossile fuels and put that money in to technologies that are carbon negative. Next problem.
Interesting discussion. I disagree, concern for humanity is coincident, economics is the reason for change. EROI for fossils doesn't add up anymore and the green alternatives are on shaky ground. I think the world is in for a bumpy 2020s!! We are in a race for time to deal with the convergent environmental, demographic ,resource, energy crises of the 2020s. It's most unfortunate that private companies and governments in UK can't work together to establish tidal(reliable) renewables and "green" hydrogen for storage and transport. These are some of the plausible economic/scientific actions that could really turn the tide.

To properly fix a problem, one has to also properly identify that problem. a. Sure, a species in existence can affect their environment, and 'yes', even in negative ways at times. By going to things like Hydrogen driven economies (and the by-product of a Hydrogen fuel cell is basically pure water, and the world needs more pure water too), as well as other 'green' alternatives, the human portion could be greatly addressed. b. BUT ALSO: The Earth's magnetic field continues to weaken, the Earth's magnetic poles are moving, the South Atlantic anomaly continues to grow in size, and all the related magnetism issues, and there are a lot of them, and at least some are not beneficial for certain life upon this Earth. c. Unless the problem is properly identified and addressed, then the solutions put into place will not be fully effective, and climate change will still occur, with all the related consequences and ramifications.
@@charlesbrightman4237 a) Humans don't have the power to change the climate. Not on purpose nor accidentally. b) Earths magnetic field has nothing to do with earths gravitation and therefore has also nothing to do with the climate. c) There is no problem to adress with the climate.
@@oldineamiller9007 Maybe you should be better educated before you type? Your: a. While the Sun is the primary climate driver for this Earth, species on this Earth can affect the environment as well, sometimes even in negative ways. b. Earth's magnetic field weakening allows more harmful cosmic radiation to reach the surface of this Earth, and us. U/V C which is normally not seen on the surface of this Earth is already being reported as being seen on the surface of this Earth. U/V C being what some hospitals utilize to sterilize some of their equipment with. In addition, more infrared radiation reaching the Earth, melts more snow and ice, which then causes other issues. c. Don't worry, life itself is ultimately meaningless in the grand scheme of things anyway. NOBODY is 'saved', they are only delaying the inevitable. (copy and paste from my files): Current Analysis: Long Term: (Short Version): * Species stay on this Earth: They all eventually die and go extinct. * Species leave this Earth: They all eventually die and go extinct.
